Modern open plan living with 3 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms.

Dolphins is a fully centrally heated Regency town house which is just a few steps from historic Bayard's Cove and Embankment, the property is well appointed with all modern amenities spiced with period character. High ceilings and a feature stair case all add to an unusual and very appealing experience for our guests. A Rayburn range awaits for those who fancy experimenting with farmhouse cooking.

Perfectly positioned, Dolphins is in the quieter end of the town nestling in the historic conservation area, yet close enough to give easy and level access by foot to all the amenities which Dartmouth has to offer

Formerly a merchants house and subsequently owned by the Christian Mission (now known as the Salvation Army), the accommodation occupies three floors with the entrance vestibule at street level , it is a private entrance and is big enough to store three or four bicycles, coats and shoes, there is a narrow passageway through to a rear yard which can be used for drying clothes.

Stairs lead up to the 1st floor where the living area is open plan and of generous proportions.


Lounge has remote control gas fire, two sofa's, a four seat Dining table and chairs, The room is light and comfortable and enjoys an outlook over Lower street through two large ceiling height windows, Entertainment includes Free-sat high definition smart TV, DVD player, a selection of DVD,s to suit a variety of tastes and free Wifi.


Fitted with country style kitchen with laminate floor, a Rayburn cooker with extractor, large dining room table with 6 chairs, washing machine, tumble dryer, large fridge freezer, dish washer, portable induction hob, microwave, iron/ironing board and portable CD player / radio,


Connects dining room to lounge with stairs off leading up to a gallery style 2nd floor.


The master en suite bedroom overlooks the rear of the property and has glimpses of Kingswear and the rolling hills beyond, it offers a king size double bed, wardrobe, vanity unit with mirror, Hi definition wide screen TV and two bed side tables. Door through to the en suite offers electric shower , basin with mirror, toilet and storage cupboard with central heating controls.


Second bedroom is to the front of the property and overlooks Lower street, it offers double bed, hi definition wide screen TV, walk in wardrobe, two bed side tables and vanity unit.


The third bedroom is also to the front of the property and overlooks Lower street, it offers two single beds, with two bed side tables, wardrobe, vanity unit and wide screen LCD TV.


Family bathroom includes, Jacuzzi corner bath, with shower, basin with mirror and toilet.


There is limited parking directly outside of the property, parking while off and on loading luggage is also permitted. A free parking permit is included with the rental which allows unlimited parking in the town car park which is just 5 minutes stroll away. in busy periods the permit also provides unlimited parking on the park and ride with a free shuttle bus to the Embankment, this service runs 7 days a week and every few minutes up until late evening. Additional weekly park and ride permits are available for £32.00 per car from the Tourist information center which is also located next to the town car park in Mayors avenue


Travelling down the M5 motorway to the west country can be a tedious experience on Fridays and Saturdays because of the volume of holiday traffic which often adds 50% onto the normal journey time. From experience we have found that taking the journey on a Sunday is much easier and faster, our property management company (Exclusive management) have kindly agreed to completing changeover services on Sundays to make your journey more pleasurable and convenient. Shopping for provisions on a Sunday is also convenient as local supermarkets are also open until late. On changeover day Dolphins should be vacated by 10.00 am

About Jan Macey

My name is Jan and together with my husband Steve and our two sons Elliot and Richard live in Wolverhampton where we run a small engineering business. We first visited Dartmouth around 25 years ago where we fell in love with the towns beauty and its vibrant atmosphere, since then we have been regular visitors to the area and when the opportunity arose to be able to buy a property in the town we could not resist. For the last 6 years we have partially lived at Dolphins which we now consider to be as much our home as where we live in Wolverhampton.

Having our second home in Dartmouth, we have been able to take full advantage of the community spirit , whether its raining or shining the town folk always have time to chat , its easy going and we now have many friends in the town.

Dartmouth has some of the best crabbing and fishing in south Devon , when our children were younger we spent many an hour on the waterfront soaking up the sunshine and scenery while they fished to their hearts content, Mackerel often shoal close inshore on incoming tides and on many occasions we have returned home with buckets of fresh caught fish.

There is always plenty to do in the town , we have a museum , cinema, a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, boat trips and so on. For those more adventurous, there is also a Canoe club just three doors away where for the cost of a cheap family meal you can get a family ticket which provides unlimited use of the equipment, they also offer starter courses to get you out on the water.

We have beautiful walks as well, travelling from Dartmouth town past Castle Cove over the cliffs to Little Dartmouth then back is a particular favorite of ours , its about two hours round and we always seem to finish up at the Castle cafe in time for a Devon cream tea overlooking the estuary.

Dolphins holiday home has been tastefully refurbished with comfort in mind it has a homely feel and enjoys an enviable position close to the town center, market and shops while being sufficiently far away to avoid the towns hustle and bustle, it sits in Dartmouth's beautiful conservation area and has very easy access to the waterfront, for us we found Dolphins the perfect blend of convenience and comfort.

The size of the property is generous and provides very ample space for guests, it is also very suitable for families who need a variety of facilities and entertainment close by, in years past our family used to spend many hours just steps away crabbing on the Quay , a memory which lasts with all the family to this day.

A very comfortable apartment in a wonderful location

We had a lovely stay in the apartment, and the location was ideal. Dartmouth is a wonderful town, with lots of good shops, cafes, restaurants, walks, as well as being the ideal place to just sit and watch the boats whilst enjoying a nice coffee or ice cream. The ferry and steam train to Paignton was very enjoyable, but we were also happy to just stay in and around Dartmouth. In the evenings we enjoyed watching our dvds and listening to cds in the very comfortable lounge. Overall a very enjoyable holiday.

Great Regatta

My family and I stayed in this lovely comfortable house to enjoy the Dartmouth Regatta this year it has an ideal location in town opposite Al Fresco the best breakfast venue !!

The property is spacious and the kitchen has all you will need for self catering with a family also the three bedrooms are comfy with good storage we had a great time and would recommend staying here to enjoy all that lovely Dartmouth has to offer

Homely huge and handsome place to stay. Bang in the centre of town - a real pearl of a place to be

My family and I loved this place. Three rambunctious boys roamed freely here. They loved the TVs in every room and the triangle-shaped bath with fully working jacuzzi was a massive draw every evening after the beach. Lots of space and very well kitted out. Beautiful old-style kitchen with Aga and large old kitchen table - so homely and roomy even invited people round for dinner one evening. Excellent welcome pack with every single thing you need most importantly parking, which can be tricky in Dartmouth. Superb for all family types, large or small. I even saw a steriliser on the counter. Loved staying here and would happily recommend to any other family looking for some laid back homely living space in centre of town.

Lovely house in the town centre

So easy for a family break, well equipped kitchen and 3 good sized bedrooms. Jan was v helpful when the website was down and we couldn't access the final arrival details. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
