Welcome to Paradise! My name is Donna, and I am the owner of this charming beach house and hope you will love Crystal Beach as much I do! I am a Florida native and built this home 27 years ago. There is a saying about our beautiful neighborhood that goes like this...if you're lucky enough to live in Crystal Beach, you're lucky enough! It truly is a slice of paradise! I have been asked if I will ever move, and my answer stays the same after falling in love with Crystal Beach many years ago...
my answer is...where would I go? No matter where I travel, I will always be happy to return home to quaint and tropical Crystal Beach!! I feel like I am always on a vacation here and this tranquil neighborhood really is like living in a park.
I was born in Vero Beach(east coast of Florida) and lived all over Florida, growing up as a preacher's kid. I have never found a place so enchanting and charming as this community...and the people who live here are the best!
You can't go anywhere in this neighborhood without a friendly, neighborly smile and wave coming your way :)
Donna Lapcevic purchased this house in 1987
The Beach House experience is like living in tree house in a waterfront park! We are golf cart friendly too! There are rentals nearby if anyone is interested. We have an Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade. The artsy and creative Crystal Beachers parade around the neighborhood and toss candy and treats to all the neighbors who come out to watch the fun. Nearby Ozona has a Golf Cart Parade also. Crystal Beach attracts many artists who capture the local scenery and sights on their canvases. Crystal Beach hosts several Arts and Crafts Festivals throughout the year right here at our park and Community Town Hall. We have a lovely Crystal Beach Community Church open to everyone...right on the water! It is a very beautiful church and a perfect spot for a wedding! If you are here for the holidays, you will see Santa and his elves cruising our neighborhood in a holiday decorated Old Palm Harbor Firetruck! November's Chili Cook-Off at our park was a huge success, supported by the neighborhood foodies to benefit our Youth Center. Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt in the park is another wonderful neighborhood tradition enjoyed by all! Our waterfront park and pier is a perfect spot to fish, swim, or catch a sunset. We also have picnic tables and nice park benches throughout the park. Local musicians strum their guitars and serenade the neighbors Sunday evenings at sunset. Our park is an amazing place for kids of all ages!
Crystal Beach and the surrounding communities offer something for everyone! It is a short commute to so many attractions in our Tampa Bay area. You could enjoy a totally different adventure each day of your vacation... from natural parks, lakes, springs and beaches...to theme parks, museums, outdoor movies on Clearwater Beach, various theater and music venues...we have it all! Just ask...
The rental was perfect for us. Donna was easy going and made our stay comfortable. I would not recommend this rental if you have very young children. I have a 3 and 1 year old. My 3 y/o was fine but my younger was confined and a bit loud ( the owner is upstairs). Sorry if we kept you up Donna. Other than that, if you need a rental in the area this property is perfect and priced appropriate. I recommend this property highly. Enjoy!
We had never stayed anywhere but in a hotel on vacation. We saw this listing and took a chance. It worked out really well. It was like staying with a friend - The owner of this location was able to tell us where to find places, give us hints about places to eat, and sometimes just dropped by for a chat. Not intrusive, just friendly. We had the usual household odds and ends to take care of (no maid service) but that helps keep costs more affordable. Having a kitchen was wonderful - we could linger over morning coffee, and all the benefits of home there. This location was only a short block from a great walking path right on the harbor shore. The walk is lined with beautiful homes, mangrove bushes and grassy lawns. We watched sunsets every evening from a nearby park, rode our bikes almost everywhere and were very comfortable. We stayed for a month and wished we had more time there!
Wife and I rented this vacation cottage for the month of February 2015, in order to spend time with our kids who live in Palm Harbor. We really had a WONDERFUL time staying here, and feel the money spent was WELL WORTH it!! The cottage is on the 2nd floor of a 3-story building, but it has a really great deck and outside stairway to get up to the deck and the front door. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our mornings sitting outside on the patio furniture, watching the shore birds fly by (pelicans, ospreys, gulls, terns, etc.), viewing the water and the barrier islands (Honeymoon Island, etc.), and watching boats go by. While the cottage is a short block from the water's edge, you can still see the water and islands through several viewpoints. Crystal Beach is a neighborhood in the northwest corner of Palm Harbor, and you are not far from all kinds of vacation activities and shopping opportunities. The world famous Tarpon Springs sponge docks are just 15 minutes north on Alt-19, and Dunedin, Clearwater and Tampa/St. Petersburg are just a short ride south. The Pinellas Trail paved bike and walking path is just a few blocks away, and the cottage comes with two "cruiser" bicycles. All kinds of water- and beach-related activities are available, year-round, including boating, swimming, beach time, hiking, nature outings, and museums/parks. Lots of eating establishments exist in the area, from fast food to vacation/tourist casual restaurants to upscale establishments. The owner, Donna, is a wonderful, personable, friendly lady, and was so very easy to get along with. She worked very hard to make our stay enjoyable, and stayed in touch with us periodically during the month. We had some family visitors stay with us during the month (including our grandchildren), and she was friendly and gracious to them, as well as welcoming to everyone who visited us. I would DEFINITELY book this property again, no doubt about it!!!
You are close to everything...but feel so far away! For more info and beautiful photos of our surgar-white award winning beaches and nature lover's paradise go to www.caladesiferry.org. Learn more about our wonderful walking, running, and bike trail at www.pinellastrail.org. Experience a little country in the city. Crystal Beach and the surrounding beaches refresh you with calm and clear waters. Our nearby springs bubble up into the Gulf. Wall Springs Park is a short drive or leisurely 10 minute bike ride away on the Pinellas Trail. This county park is a must see for nature lovers. It was originally known as 'Health Springs,' and was used as a health spa and bathing area at the turn of the Century. The source of this spring and other nearby springs is the Upper Floridian Aquifer. Swimming and fishing are not permitted in the spring area, but there are several fishing piers in the park. Bring some bread for the fish, ducks, birds, and otters! Beautiful boardwalks lead you through the park. There also is a children's playground and plenty of picnic tables...so don't forget your pic-a-nic basket! Take a walk or bike ride on the Pinellas Trail, just a few blocks away from the Beach House. The trail extends from Tarpon Springs, home of the famous Greek Sponge Docks, all the way south to St. Petersburg. There are several bike and skate rental shops located along the trail. Enjoy it all...everything from beaches, numerous County and State Parks, Lake Tarpon...or simply pamper yourself and take a few deep breaths at the legendary Safety Harbor Resort and Spa or another nearby Spa...aaah.
Catch a favorite performance at the Theater and a variety of music venues (Ruth Eckerd Hall, The historic Capitol Theatre (Circa 1921) in Clearwater, and many more in Tampa and St. Petersburg). Be a big kid and race a Go Cart, try a round of mini golf, and play games galore at our nearby Celebration Station. For the pros, we boast 11 fine golf courses, including the world famous Innisbrook Championship PGA Course...all 5 to 15 minutes away. Enjoy endless shopping, from large malls to unique gift and antique shops sure to please. A trip to Crystal Beach is not complete without a visit to Historic Downtown Palm Harbor where there are street festivals every month. You can enjoy tasty meals, and hear live music! Come on down to Peggy O'Neil's Irish Pub, The Thirsty Marlin Restaurant and Tiki Bar, Boyle's Backyard, and Lou Lou's Cafe...to name a few favorites. Hop aboard The Jolley Trolley to the beaches, out for lunch or dinner, hear live music, and go shopping...for $4.50 all day and evening! The Trolley stops on Alt. 19, right in front of the neighborhood. The fun begins at 11AM until 2 hours after sunset during the Holidays, and the sunset festivals are year round! Busch Gardens, Hard Rock Casino & Cafe, Skipper's Smokehouse Restaurant and Outdoor Music Venue, Lowry Park Zoo...and so many more great spots... are all about a 45 minute drive to Tampa! Orlando is an hour and a half away and offers every kind of theme park imaginable!
There are some fun events coming up in Crystal Beach soon! Our 8th Annual Chili Cook-off is Nov. 7th from 12 to 4 PM. Join the neighbors and sample some tasty chili recipes in a fun event at our waterfront community park. Thanksgiving weekend we will have the Holiday Crystal Beach Craft Fair at our Town Hall. It will be November 28th and 29th from 10 AM to 4 PM, rain or shine! All arts and crafts are hand made. There are some talented artists in our neighborhood!
Starting August 30th we will have MUSIC ON THE BEACH by our Crystal Beach Pickers. Other scheduled dates are September 27th and October 25th. It is a beautiful evening starting 1 hour before sunset.
