About this property

recently renovated holiday home with panoramic view near river and 2 golfcourses

Lo Verdièr is a recently completely renovated holiday home for four persons in the Dordogne two kilometres from picturesque medieval Belvès. It has a wonderful view on all sides. Ideal for lovers of quietness, nature, panoramic views and all Dordogne has to offer such as medieval towns and castle, prehistoric sites and canoeing on the river. At circa 500m distance there are two golf courts of 18 holes and a 5 minutes drive takes you to the river. The house is on a small dead end lane on the top of a hill, it has two terraces and an orchard (hence the name: the Occitan word for orchard). The holiday home is situated on a large terrain with on great distance the holiday home of the owner. There is plenty of privacy.

In the stylishly decorated home you will find a reception room annex dining room, with a wood burner, a modern audio set, TV and DVD-player. In the completely equipped kitchen there are amongst others a dishwasher, a washing machine, a refrigerator and a stove. Of course there is access to the internet via Wi-Fi. On the topfloor there are two bedrooms each with their own en suit. The caretaker speaks English, French and Dutch

Tranquil, secluded relaxation
Everything about the property was just as we have designed it ourselves, we have rebooked for next year, and have no suggestions for improvement. Both the owners and Jacob, the caretaker, were very cooperative, friendly and helpful, but also careful to respect our privacy. We loved picking and eating the delicious cherries, listening to the nightingales in the middle of the night, the hoopoes and buzzards, the local food and wine, cycling by the Dordogne with no cars and especially the tranquil location with far reaching views across open countryside.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location
We enjoyed a fantastic holiday in an area of Perigord we had not previously explored. The cottage was spacious, well-equipped & clean. The beds were very comfortable & the wet room showers were appreciated by all. The spacious living area was well furnished and the outside terraces were well used throughout the holiday. Views from the bedroom windows were stunning - especially over Lolivarie across the valley. We were fortunate to see the hoopoe and golden oriole several times in the first week & another highlight was a visit by the herd of Limousin cows who came right across the large field below the cottage to see us! We found Belves with its mediaeval locations very attractive and we also enjoyed visits to St Germain de Belves, Cladech, Sarlat & Limeuil. The supermarket in Siorac en Perigord provided for all our requirements & restaurants in Siorac, Golfe de Forge, Belves, Sarlat & Limeuil were well worth a visit. Many thanks to Jacob the caretaker for a warm welcome, advice and assistance. We intend to return to this lovely location!

Lovely give in perfect spot
You couldn't pick a better spot than this - gorgeous views and close to Belves, which is magical. Comfortable beds and great showers. Great place for relaxing. Kitchen is small but has all you need. Friendly caretaker. Would benefit from a hairdryer and a fan for hot weather. Highly recommend.

Well presented gîte with wonderful views
We had a wonderful weeks stay at LoVerdier. The gîte is a delight. We had everything we needed to be able to relax there, the kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable. We especially enjoyed being able to sit outside in the garden and eat our meals whilst enjoying the fantastic views. The place is surrounded by nature and is very peaceful. From the gîte there are many footpaths to explore including one to pretty Belvès. It is only a short drive to Siorac, a great spot for swimming in the Dordogne. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Elisabeth and Franklin whilst we where there. They are very knowledgable on the area and gave us some great tips on places to visit. Would highly recommend.
