Why book a room or two in a B&B when you can have a luxurious home all to yourself?
Because when you choose Villa Tiferet, you get a 3,800-square-foot home (and two courtyards and a rooftop…and more) All to yourselves!
This historic, renovated home is ideal for families and celebrations.
Villa Tiferet, located in Tsfat's charming Artists' Quarter, is best suited for families or couples. This 400-year-old home has been renovated and can accommodate 12 guests comfortably. Tucked behind a cobbled pedestrian walkway, the home is entered through a large stone courtyard flanked with Moroccan pillows and past a splashing fountain. Inside, stone domes rise above. The modern, fully appointed kosher kitchen has granite counters and bar stools. The adjoining dining room features a large wooden table that extends to seat 18 guests. Relax in the family room with its cozy couches while children can enjoy Wii, XBox and board games in the family room. The family room transforms into a bedroom with a sofa bed and adjoining bathroom with shower. Upstairs, across the courtyard are two bedrooms. The first, with a bunk bed, pull out and single bed, sleeps five children comfortably. The second room offers a double bed and a single bed plus private bathroom. The rooms share a bathroom with sink and shower. Above is a roof with full sunset views of the Old City and the Meiron Mountains. A separate bedroom, the Hobbit Cottage, is ideal for couples and is accessed from the living room. This cottage has a bathroom with shower, a small kitchenette with sink, hotplate and fridge and a private courtyard.
Our preference is that you stay for at least two nights, however for those guests who can only stay one night, the single night rate is $900 regardless of the number of guests.
We moved to Israel from Toronto in 2005 with our four kids in tow, the oldest being 12 years old at the time. We live in Ra'anana but we really love Tsfat and have a number of very dear friends there. Once our oldest two kids joined the army we just have not had as many opportunities to spend family time together up there. Rather than see the place sit empty for months at a time we decided to make it available for others to enjoy as well. It is a remarkable place and we do our utmost to ensure that your stay is superb. After-all, you are guests in our home! We have had excellent feedback from our guests and we are so happy in helping people fall in love with israel.
Nicole Bem purchased this villa in 2006
Have you taken a look at the pictures? The house was originally part of an Armenian Church built in Tsfat some 400 to 500 years ago. The walls are three feet thick. When we bought the place it was very bare-bones. We spent close to a year renovating it. When you lie back in one of the cozy sofas in the family room you look up to domed stone vaulted ceilings above you. You feel like you are living in a castle. At the same time we've put in all the modern amenities that one would need at very high-standards. We did not cut any corners because unlike other places that are built for hotel guests, this is a home that we built for ourselves. We hope that you will love it as much as we do!
Serenity. Plenty of space. Two private courtyards. An opulent dining area. A place to escape the busy world outside and to connect with your loved ones. One of the most common feedback that we receive is people telling us how peaceful they felt there.
My mother and I stayed in this perfect, beautiful home for a couple days last month while visiting the Golan Heights and Tzfat. I cannot recommend this property more highly! The photos hardly do it justice, beautiful as they are: it is an exquisite home with plenty of space for a much larger party than ours, unique achitectural details, gorgeous views, and every accoutrement one might need for a stay. The hosts, Amir and Nicole, are an extremely warm Canadian couple living in Israel. They reached out by email and phone multiple times to ensure that we were prepared for our trip, to make restaurant recommendations, to ensure our trip went smoothly after departure, and to express their hope we could meet in person on our next visit: we felt like we were staying with friends in Tzvat. Their friend and property manager, Danny, was equally warm and welcoming, making great recommendations for local grocery stores, hiking locations and otherwise. Particularly for travelers whose Hebrew is not especially strong, they made things so easy.
As long as they'll have us back, we'll never stay elsewhere in the North. We can't wait to come back!
Tsfat is for those who love Jewish history, art and the outdoors.
There are many art galleries in Tsfat, especially in the Old City. Many ancient synagogues are in the Old City and come Shabbat, Safed transforms into a place of singing and dancing. There is also a very mystical side. Kabbalists lived here many centuries ago and many local Tsfatis learn these traditions to this day. Visit for Lag B'Omer or the Klezmer festival when the sleepy town is alive with many visitors, music and song.
We particularly love the outdoors and appreciate the fresh air and breezes in this mountaintop town. Tsfat has one of the most pleasant climates in the country during Israel's hot summer.
We know of many mountain biking trails, caves, waterfalls and hikes nearby and are happy to help you plan an outdoor adventure.
Villa Tiferet is in the Artists Quarter and is a short walk to everything including restaurants, shops, supermarkets and tourist attractions. If you are here on a Wednesday, be sure to visit the local farmers' market.
