Fantastic Family Home with super pool all set in a very quiet picturesque location
This comfortable family home is well equipped to a high standard and has the added bonus of the pool which our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed during our weeks stay. The weather was very warm but the water temperature was high enough that I’m sure they would have enjoyed it whatever the weather.
The house is located in a quiet area close to the coast and other attractions. Our dog enjoyed his walks in the beautiful countryside around the house in particular down the lane to the nearby river.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable well equipped holiday home and am looking onward to returning here in the future.
Expectations fully met
Good communication and everything was as described. Pool was lovely. Genuinely Dog friendly property as were many of the eateries in this part of Norfolk.
Cosy cottages in a glorious setting
Three generations of our family loved staying in this elegant and well appointed property. The pool was a huge attraction as was paddling and playing Pooh stick in the River Glavens, a 2 minute walk away in beautiful countryside. The house fulfilled our expectations and was cosy, welcoming and very comfortable. We thoroughly recommend this property and very much hope to return.
Well-equipped, spacious, comfortable property with lovely private pool.
We booked The Old Stables with private pool especially for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We were impressed by the property and facilities. It was also very well situated and within easy reach of the coast. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was lovely and private with plenty of seating provided. We had a nice surprise of an anniversary card, flowers, wine and cookies which was thoughtful.
However, we were disappointed with the cleanliness. The tiled floors hadn't been cleaned and were grubby, the annex lobby floor being covered in pawprints and one of the lounger cushions was covered in dog hairs. The bedside tables were also quite dusty. Some of the kitchenware also needed deep cleaning.
Although we were disappointed, we decided not to complain as we didn't want our special week disrupted. We did manage to enjoy the property.
A wonderful place to stay
Enjoyed it all . Great location . Fabulous pool !
Great set up for a family with 4 teenagers!!
Had a wonderful weeks holiday. Ideal set up with the annexe as our 4 daughters all preferred to stay in there whilst and my husband and I had the main house to ourselves. House very well equipped and nicely decorated. Very clean. Nice fluffy towels! Great for outdoor eating with lots of space. Icing on the cake for us was the outdoor pool - heated (often pools advertised as being heated but are cold - not the case here!) Ideal location - only 30 minute walk to Holt across fields and through woods. Would definitely stay again.
The North Norfolk steam railway which runs between Holt and Sheringham is a delight. There are gorgeous walks on the coast. Fantastic cafes and delis, the area is foodie heaven, Kids will love crabbing from the quayside at Blakeney and Wells and playing in the ford over the Glaven river some 300 yards from the cottage.
