Nice property but mosquitoes ruined the visit

  • 2 of 5

There were so many mosquitoes that it prevented us from really enjoying the extensive yard, swing set, fire pit and the lake. The property itself is nice and the owner did his best to accommodate us during the stay. Mike did offer suggestions for alternative activities in town when we couldn't swim in the lake.

Beautiful home! Gorgeous view! Tons of fun!

  • 5 of 5

This had to be one of our best vacations ever. Lake Koshkonong is a shallow lake, but that means it's warm! Get past about 10 feet of small rocks in the water and you have a solid, smooth sand bottom for at least 30 yards or more. No weeds in the water at all! The house is beyond clean and beautiful! From the floors to the ceiling, the woodworking was amazing. Wifi signal was great all of the time. The bathroom was big with a huge shower. The stainless and granite kitchen was spotless. The house is stocked with plenty of rainy day games and dvd's, life jackets and outdoor stuff...bean bags, baseball, flag football, even a snowman kit and snowball makers for winter on the lake! Mike was great!!! He was around, but not hovering, always ready to take a call for anything we needed. We stayed 8 nights and wish we could've stayed longer. Our family and friends stayed for a night or 2 according to their work schedules and everyone loved it! The huge fenced-in yard was fun for the dog (and kids!) to be off-leash. (Please be responsible and bring your pooper scooper!) Mother Nature gifted us with beautiful days but some rain on a couple nights. This made the mosquito population explode. Bring bug spray. Thanks again, Mike! We loved it!

Great little cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was a perfect place for a group of girls to be able to stay in the area. Fit 6 of us nicely. The bathroom and kitchen are really nicely redone. We actually did not spend a lot of time on the property because we were exploring the surrounding area, but it would have been great to do so. The owner Mike was very helpful.

The Cottage was nice and what we expected, however the bugs and lake water were horrific this time of year. So we were disappointed we couldn't actually utilize the beach. The check-in process was a little disorganized and hard to get a hold of the owner.

Owner's Response: April, I'm glad you thought our place was nice, we work on keeping it that way and it's good to get feedback from our guests. The bugs were freakishly bad the first week of September, a bit out of our control, which is why we have cable, wifi, and games in the rental. It could always rain on your plans. I have started providing my cell number to guest the moment the book so there should be no problem reaching me in the future. Visit us in the winter, no bugs and the water is ice.
