About the property

Celestia Villas

Nestling at the foot of a lush green hillside on the outskirts of the village of Perigiali, Celestia villas are a great choice for peace and quiet, with the luxury of being within a short walk to the lovely Passa Beach and just 800m from the local supermarket and café. Just a 5 minute drive away is the bustling and lively town of Nidri, with an array of excellent restaurants, tavernas, cafes and bars perfect for lunch, dinner or a cocktail whilst watching the boats come onto the local quay.

Each of the three Celestia villas has gorgeous sea views taking in the bays and headlands of Skorpios, Sparti, Meganissi and other pretty little islands that adorn the area. This view will be the backdrop of hours of relaxation in the lovely swimming pool or to long meals on the dining terrace.

Our local architect, George Kavadas, with his flair for design, merged authentic traditional lines with minimalist modern comfort and has created a fantastic combination resulting in a one-off villa that is aesthetically pleasing and functional. Each property is spacious and light and airy due to the large French windows allowing the sun to illuminate every room and bringing the views inside the villa.

Crafted for comfort with Air Conditioning in every room, there are three Celestia villas to choose between; Villa Nepheli sleeps 4 -6 persons, Villa Kynthia sleeps 6 persons and Villa Aelia sleeps 7 persons. The comfortable and private bedrooms each have an en suite shower room/bathroom and WC. An artistically furnished living area leads out through sliding French doors onto the spacious pool terrace, an ideal spot from which to watch the sun rise above the surrounding Islands. Leading off the lounge are the kitchens which are more than fully equipped with all the mod cons you will need for your holiday. We have fitted the kitchens with ultimate comfort in mind so aside from the essential dishwasher, microwave, hob, cooker, each Celestia villa is equipped with a kettle, toaster, frying pans and deep pans of all sizes and enough crockery and cutlery for at least 8 people; perfect for those wishing to make the most of their self-catering facilities and fresh local produce available from nearby Nidri town and the farmers market in Lefkas town each Saturday morning.

Relaxation is paramount, and in this rural haven with stunning vistas of shimmering waters and your own private pool to dip into between sunbathing and lengthy lunches on the terrace, you will certainly find that here with Celestia villas. The close proximity of the villas to two larger livelier towns offers versatility to your holiday, with the added option of taking the ferry or a tour boat and Island hopping to the beautiful surrounding Islands.

Great property and rental experience

  • 5 of 5

Nefeli is a beautifully designed, impeccably maintained villa, with views that are as good as the images posted and better. The house was the perfect size for a couple, and could easily host a couple more, with ample indoor and outdoor space, and we found it extremely convenient to both the high-activity/convenience areas of Nidri and Lefkada and well as less-trafficked areas around the island (which is absolutely beautiful).

A huge selling point was the ease of renting working with the property manager Lillias, who not only gave us fantastic tips about where to go and what to do/see on the island, but also used contacts to put us in touch with a great boat rental company, so that we were able to motor around the islands that make up part of the incredible views from the house.

A great experience all around from start to finish.

Beautiful villa in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely villa in a perfect location (with a hire car). Liked the layout all on one level. Excellent aircon and facilities in the villa.

Nice welcome pack with drinks, coffee and washing up powder / dishwasher tablets. Access is great compared to some of the other villas with views.

One of the Best Villas we have ever stayed in

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed in many Villas over the Years, Villa Nepheli is defiantly one of the best.

Excellent service from the first day we enquired, throughout our stay to the day we checked out from the Villa Manager, Lilias. Thank you for assisting in making our stay memorable!

Easy to find from the airport, a leisurely 40 minutes drive along the coast road. A top tip here is when you reach a key turning point at a hardware store called PROFI, there is a Lidl Supermarket next door to stock up on initial provisions as the local supermarket is limited and extortionate.

You need a car as there is no where to walk to as once of the Villa side road you are on the main road into Nidri which is about 8 minutes in a car but there are no safe pavements either way.

The Villa itself is spectacular. We were met on arrival and shown all the amenities, and the welcome pack in the fridge was appreciated. There is a large open plan kitchen which also has a dining table although never used this as outside was too tempting each evening. There is a lounge to chill out in with excellent views also and 2 good size ensuite bedrooms.

Air conditioning works very well and essential at this time of the Year with temperatures averaging 34 degrees.

The outside area is breathtaking. The pool is clean and very warm. The views from the terrance across to neighbouring islands is the thing we enjoyed most about the villa, the pictures do not do it justice. Very private and we sat and eat BBQ style most nights as found it difficult to pull ourselves away from the terrace.

We did venture out to a restaurant called Seaside which was about 15 minutes in a taxi and would recommend a try there. There is a number for a local taxi driver who is reasonable and knows exactly where the villa is.

We haired a boat for the day from Lefkas Boats, 80 euros for the day and was a great way to see some of the neighbouring bays and very easy to operate.

Nidri itself is very busy and wasn't our cup of tea but the harbour was worth a stroll around.

Overall highly recommended and would return in a heart beat.

Lefkada, a truly beautiful undiscovered island in the Ionian Sea

Lefkada, also known as Lefkas, with an area of 295 sq km, is the fourth largest of the Ionian Islands and has a coastline of 117 km. The easy access to the island across a floating bridge has made it a favourite with holidaymakers. The floating bridge is an excellent feat of engineering and can raise both ends and swivel round on its axis to allow yachts and fishing boats through the channel to the main harbour and down the East coast. This lovely undiscovered island offers fabulous unspoilt beaches all along its coastline and is a boater’s paradise with its multitude of satellite islands. Some of the best known beaches are Porto Katsiki, Kathisma, Pefkoulia. The Prinigponisa satellite islands are Scorpios, owned by the late Aristotle Onassis, Meganisi, Sparti and Madouri owned by the late national poet Aristotle Valaoritis.

The island of Lefkada is lesser known as a holiday destination to a wider audience in comparison to neighbouring Corfu, Paxos and Cephalonia. This of course has ensured that it has maintained much of its character and traditional Greek identity. There are plenty of attractions even for the more discerning traveller. The impressive green landscape offers many beautiful walks for all levels and there is a very good book that can be bought locally with tracks to follow. The long white beaches of the west coast are perfect for sun worshippers and family days out, and the crystal clear waters of the small coves on the east coast are a snorkeler’s paradise. Beautiful old churches dotted around the island, museums in Lefkas Town and archaeological sites close by are great for those looking for a bit of culture whilst on holiday. Lefkada also hosts one of the most famous International Folklore Festivals in Greece during the month of August.

Lefkas Town, 25 mins drive, is the main commercial centre. There is a quayside road south of the causeway entrance with a busy marina. The High Street runs through the centre of town and is also known as the ‘Pazari’, this is the main street for shopping and cafes. A mid-morning coffee in the square is ideal for a break and a perfect opportunity to see the Lefkadians in ‘action’! The architecture has been mainly influenced by the Venetians and the post Byzantine traditions but also by the Turkish and the English. The houses in the main part of the town are two storey buildings, very closely packed, without yards or gardens and with narrow alleyways running between them. It is lovely to walk around the back streets of the town where you are also more likely to see the typical Lefkadian houses wrapped in brightly painted corrugated iron.

Geni, 15 mins drive, is a pretty little coastal village on the east coast with an abundance of great fish tavernas located on the water's edge.

Nidri, 5 mins drive, is the primary holiday resort on Lefkas. There are a variety of tavernas, restaurants and cafes here, also a handful of bars and a couple of nightclubs. The majority of shopping and tourist facilities are on the main street. On the seafront, known as the ‘Paralia’, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Pringiponissa islands - amongst which is Scorpios, owned by the Onassis family.

Ag. Nikitas, 35 mins drive, on the north-west tip of the island, is a pretty little village surrounded by fabulous beaches such as Pefkoulia, Kathisma and Kalamitsi. The nucleus of the village has been placed under preservation order, thus maintaining the traditional Ionian ambience.

Syvota Bay, 20 mins drive, is in the south-east at the head of a large bay and has an outstanding natural harbour. Syvota is wonderful for an evening meal with great fish tavernas by the sea.

Vassiliki, 25 mins drive, in the south is a self-contained tourist resort with a full range of facilities. The harbour is lined with restaurants and cafes and the main street has a fair number of shops. Many sailing companies operate from here and you may hire windsurf boards on a daily or hourly basis. Vassiliki has a ferry port operating a service to Cephalonia and Ithaca.

Motorboat hire is a must as it can open up a realm of uninhabited beaches and coves. The motorboat includes the provision of a map of the boating area, buoyancy aids, flares, oars and anchors. Detailed instructions will also be given for operation and mooring and a full local back-up service is provided. There are many small deserted coves on the coast and excellent snorkeling areas where you can enjoy the local marine life such as Sea Urchins, Sea cucumbers, Red Star Fish and when overturning stones or rocks perhaps you may find Brittle Starfish or even Octopus!
