High Street spacious Self contained private Apartment in the heart of Uppingham

Bedrooms 3
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

A spacious and elegant private apartment in a Grade II listed Georgian buildin

A spacious and elegant apartment on the middle floor of a Grade II listed Georgian house. The apartment is minutes away from the Market Place; it is in a peaceful location and so handy for all that Uppingham has to offer: great restaurants, lots of independent retailers, antique shops and art galleries, all in a historic heritage setting.

The apartment has its' own entrance, accessible through the passageway leading to the pretty courtyard.

The two main bedrooms have ample storage - a walk-in wardrobe in the bedroom at the front and a fitted wardrobe in the bedroom at the back. The third bedroom is small but it has a window, small bedside table with drawers and is big enough for a single bed. We anticipate it will be especially suitable for a child who does not want to share a double bed with their sibling!

The bathroom is half tiled and has a rainfall shower in the bath. Constant hot water is supplied by a new Combi boiler.

We have a full kitchen with small pantry. It has a pine table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave, tall fridge freezer and full size dishwasher. Ample crockery and pans if you want to cook at home.

Two nights minimum let. If you require the apartment for a longer period (eg waiting for a house purchase or a short-term working contract) please get in touch and we can discuss a discounted rate.

Rutland is the smallest county in England with 53 villages and just two towns: Oakham and Uppingham. Uppingham is the smaller town, and many would argue that it is the prettier of the two. It's an ideal place to come to eat or to generally mooch about in the many independent shops & galleries.

Lounge: TV, DVD Player, CD/MP3 player

Kitchen: dishwasher, electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave

Bathroom: bath, rainwater type shower over bath.

In the entrance hall downstairs there is a sink (useful for cleaning walking boots) and a washing machine. You can also keep cycles here too.

Small shared courtyard

Free high speed Broadband Wireless Internet

Two nights minimum let.

About highstreetapartment

We ourselves extensively renovated our High Street apartment and then lived in it for 4 years; so we know it well! We now live further down the High street but are on hand for any advice about the area or problems you may have. Otherwise we will leave you in peace to enjoy a short stay in our apartment in the little characterful charming town of Uppingham as much as we enjoy living here. For a small town and a small county it has a lot to offer

highstreetapartment purchased this apartment in 2010

Why highstreetapartment chose Harborough District

The apartment is self contained and in a perfect location for those who wish to stay put and explore Uppingham, or to use it as a base to explore the rest of Rutland. Uppingham is a small, charming market town and everything is in walking distance to us.

We have a lockable small outbuilding in courtyard suitable for bike storage (used to be Sue's artist studio).

It is ideally suited to business travelers too because it is close to the A47 with Leicester to the West and Peterborough and the A1 to the East, and is also bisected by the road that links Kettering and Corby with Oakham and Melton Mowbray

What makes this apartment unique

More facts about Uppingham and Rutland

• Rutland is the only county in England not to have a McDonalds!

• Uppingham market day is on a Friday

• In April classic cars meet in Uppingham for the Stilton Cheese Classic Car Run

• In June on 'Feast Day', food stalls set up along High Street East and there is live music in the Market Place

• It is about a 15 minute drive (8-9 miles) to the car parks on the north shore of Rutland Water

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a really lovely property with everything you need, and more, for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Dave and Sue were wonderful hosts; they could not have been more considerate and accommodating, particularly as this was a very last minute booking.

The location is as described, right in the heart of Uppingham with everything just on your doorstep. The decor and finish are of a really high standard with lots of lovely finishing touches, unusual in self-catering in our experience. The apartment really exceeded our expectations. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment, congratulations and thanks to Dave and Sue.'

Super apartment in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 nights in this lovely apartment and were warmly welcomed by Sue and Dave. We were attending a wedding in Uppingham and the apartment was perfectly located for the church and venue. The apartment was extremely comfortable, well equipped and very relaxing. We also thoroughly enjoyed Sue's delicious tea loaf that was waiting for us upon our arrival. We would highly recommend this apartment.

Perfect for girly break in Rutland

  • 5 of 5

Great location within walking distance to the Market Square in Uppingham - we had lunch at Hambleton Hall and hired bikes the following day to cycle around Rutland Water. The apartment has all the equipment you need home from home. The beds are also very comfortable. Dave and Sue were a pleasure to deal with.
