This is an exceptional property with a private tennis court, situated in a quiet dominant position, in the heart of the charming village of Le Rouret. It is nestled within a two acre olive grove with beautiful sea views. This stunning house has been renovated and extended to a very high standard and offers a unique mix of an old bergerie extended sympathetically with traditional stone walls, galleried glass hallway and huge full height bay windows over the gardens. It has beautiful mature gardens and lawns, a large swimming pool which can be heated upon request. At the bottom of the garden you have a gate to stroll down to the village centre where you will find Le Clos St Pierre michelin star restaurant, and many other restaurants and bistros, boulangerie, wine bar and other facilitates all within walking distance. A small track at the top of the property leads you to the unspoilt walks of the Camp Romain hillside. Here you have extensive views on one side of the sea and the other side the hilltop village of Gourdon and surrounding mountains.

About Caroline Stephenson
We live between France and London. La Respelido is our home from home in France. We have enjoyed coming here for the last 20 years and never tire of our true paradise set within this wonderful part of the Cote d'Azur. We particularly love the fact that we are close enough to the beaches but also set back from the hectic peak period tourist traffic. We have have the most glorious walks on our doorstep and also quick drive into famous villages such as Mougins, St Paul de Vence, Grasse and many more. Plus we're only half an hour from the airport which is great for picking up our many guests!
Caroline Stephenson purchased this Villa in 1999
Why Caroline Stephenson chose Le Rouret
La Respelido is a unique house, in the way that the stunning new addition of glass and stone has been built onto the charming 200 year old Bergerie. Only the best materials have been used to create this exceptional mix of old and new. It is highly unusual to find a property of such importance , surrounded by two acres of land in the heart of the village. This ensures both privacy and convenience - great to be able to walk to the boulangerie for your fresh bread and croissants in the morning and a selection of fabulous restaurants, including a michelin star.

Stylish, spacious and comfortable house in lovely grounds
Lovely stay at Le Respelido. Wonderful, spacious and comfortable house and home. Nicely, and stylishly, furnished with a blend of antique and modern. Large doors and windows open up the house to the gardens. Lovely and well equipped kitchen. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Landscaped grounds delightful and very well maintained and full of flowers and trees. Plenty of both sun and shade through the day. Nice views from the terrace. Good pool. Air conditioned for hot nights. Bakery and fresh produce market in easy walking distance and supermarket a few minutes drive. Good restaurant in village. Owner, Caroline, very easy to deal with. Rental cost reflects the quality of the property and is good value for such a high quality house and relaxing garden.
We were three families, 11 people in total staying at the house. Everything was fantastic - well appointed, immaculately maintained, and gorgeous. We are already talking about our next trip back to la respelido!
Thank you very much for your great review. We enjoyed having you to stay at La Respelido and would be delighted to welcome you back next year.
I couldn't have had a better time at this property! The house, and everything in it, was in absolutely perfect condition and exceeded all expectations. Would be the easiest recommendation I've ever given.
Beautiful house but a bit farther away from the beaches than I expected.
Nice kitchen, spacious grounds and the master suite is well appointed. The owner and staff were great as well. Only downside to me coming from US is understanding the 10km can take 45 minutes in summer here.
Idyllic Gem in Cote d'Azure
I cannot recommend this property destination enough, suffice to call it a magnet to joy! Previously we had always loved the pleasures of Italy, but on discovering this treasure set in idyllic scenery, we have returned again and again to the enchanting La Respelido.
The property is a delightful mix of old French traditional charm and new cutting edge architecture. This contrast of styles successfully unites both aesthetics and function; often a difficult call for contemporary design.
The olive grove, wildflower meadow, patio garden terrace with lavender and rosemary (perfect for butterflies in summer!), swimming pool and the tennis court make the exterior pleasures of the house as great as the comforts offered inside.
It is always spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The owner, in the few times we have needed to make contact, has always been delightful and helpful - offering excellent customer service.
There are many local attractions and the big cities of Nice and Cannes are nearby, as are local walks into the mountains with fabulous views.
I wholeheartedly recommend this holiday property for a wonderful vacation guaranteed to ensure glorious memories.
Thank you for your very kind review. We are always delighted to hear that you have had another super holiday at Respelido. We would love to welcome you again next year!
Truly a paradise
La Respelido is truly a paradise. From the moment you drive in you are surrounded by beautiful flowering terraces and an abundance of olive trees and lawns. This stunning house has so much to offer, especially with its own tennis court and great space for entertaining, our friends were very impressed especially with its architectural design. All the rooms are huge and beautifully presented. It was great for the kids too, having such a lot of flat lawns for them to run around and kick a ball. We also loved being able to walk into the village and highly recommend Le Clos St Pierre and the Bistro du Clos, and being able to stroll down to the village in the morning to get fresh bread and croissant. Some of our more energetic guests explored the fantastic walks which are literally at the back of the house. I would highly recommend this house.
We are so glad you had such a lovely holiday at Respelido and welcome you back any time.
A short walk behind the house you have the beautiful walks of the Camp Romain hillsides. These will take you all the way to Bar sur Loup if you want. We are 20 mins drive from the historic hilltop villages of St Paul de Vence, Gourdon and Mougins - famous for the Impressionist painters. The famous perfumeries of Grasse are 15 minutes drive away. Of course for the foodies we have the famous michelin star restaurant Le Clos st Pierre in the village (must make a reservation) and it's new addition the Bistrot du Clos. We even now have an excellent Indian takeaway for a relaxed night on the terrace, all a moments walk away. At Bar sur Loup, 20 minutes away, you will find the exciting Gorge du Loup where you can trek down to the bottom and experience canyoneering or take a picnic and relax beside cascading water and amazing rock pools - this is a must for the kids.
We have many excellent golf clubs in the area, horse riding and of course your own tennis court.
