Lovely tranquil cottage in the picturesque Karst
A lovely place to spend a summer week. Simona was very welcoming and the cottage itself was charming - old but beautifully maintained. The walled garden in particular was idyllic. Kopriva is a quiet but pretty village and the locally scenery is stunning. Vineyards everywhere. We were very sorry to leave - albeit with a boot full of teran!
Thank you Vladka for this kind and welcoming stay. The house was very cpsy, all right, ans well situated near Italy or other main touristic attractions (Piran, Postojna). We had very enjoyable hollidays in Kopriva.
Wonderful traditional village house in sublime surroundings
One of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. A characterful traditional house in secluded garden, with fantastic views of mountains all around (Karst, Julian Alps). A very friendly, unspoilt village. Great walks from the door through vineyards and tracks, and further afield, trips out to characterful towns such as Piran and Koper on the sea. Also, a stunning day trip to the Soči valley, almost from the back door. The amazing frescoed church at Hrastovlje is worth the trip alone. Thank you, Blaz and Vladka!
Very pretty, character cottage, ideally situated, and set in an attractive and very private garden.
A great location and a frindly village added to the obvious attractions of this characterful and delightful cottage. Set within an old village surrounded by vineyards, but in its own private, walled oasis - we loved the huge wooden gates in particular! Many of Slovenia's beautiful attractions are within an hour or two's reach - the coast, the mountains, Lake Bled, Ljubljana and the famous caves. A charming and helpful owner as well as friendly neighbours made us feel very welcome.
Lovely quaint cottage in a great setting.
Lovely cottage with enclosed garden. The bedrooms were very spacious and the kids enjoyed playing in the garden. Definitely recommended
The perfect home from home
The beautiful house and garden were the ideal home from home and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was stunning, as well as being very well positioned to explore Slovenia, allowing us to see the Julian Alps as well as the coastal regions. There was plenty to see both locally and further afield so every day offered something new and different. Blaz was a great host and was always contactable if we had any queries.
Karst region is known for its picturesque roads, historical villages, top-quality wineries and unspoilt nature so whichever direction you take from the village, you will not be disappointed. Here are some of our favourite things to see in a 30 km radius: Historical village of Štanjel (5 km), Pliskovica with a beautiful walking or biking trail Pliskina pot (6 km), Voglje with private ham-drying facility (9 km), Sežana botanical gardens (12 km), Lipica stud farm and classical riding school (17 km), Lokev with ham-drying facility and three private museums: Fabiani Museum Shop, Military Museum Tabor tower and private exhibition 'Radio through time' (20 km), Trieste (21 km) with a beautiful Miramare and Duino castles, connected by a panoramic walking trail and Škocjanske jame caves and natural park (26 km).
The location of the house is perfect for one- or two day trips to many world renowned natural, historical or cultural landmarks: Venice (170 km), Postojna cave (41 km), Ljubljana (88 km), the seaside city of Piran and Sečovlje saltworks (60 km) or turquoise pools and white waters of the Soča river canyon (40 km).
If you want to experience something different, catch a train in Nova Gorica or Most na Soči (also available for bikes and cars) through the longest Slovene tunnel and be transported from the mediterranean-feeling Karst to the heart of Slovenian Alps with beautiful Bohinj and Bled in just an hour.
