Enjoy this newly renovated and decorated one-bedroom apartment in one of Paris’s most sought out neighborhoods. Parisian artist, Françoise Dutourleau, has decided to open her home to guests after having renovated it to incorporate some of the same details found in only the best hotels. Opposed to staying in a hotel, you’ll have room to spread out and cook in the gourmet kitchen.
The bathroom is new and spacious with both a shower and large tub as well as two sinks.
Some nice amenities include two flat screen TVs, a CD player, excellent wifi throughout the apartment, hairdryer, washer/dryer and, a Nespresso coffee maker. We have a good assortment of books on Paris in the apartment to help you plan your visit. An added feature is free cable with movies of your choice and a telephone with free calls to the United States. A nice bottle of champagne will be chilling in the refrigerator to welcome you to Paris.
The apartment is nestled on a quiet one-way street on the left bank. This is a real neighborhood with a generous assortment of restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, markets and bars within an easy strolling radius. The lively and colorful rue Mouffetard is about a ten minute walk where you can kick back and enjoy the bustle and join the locals dancing on Sunday mornings. Rue Mouffetard has buildings that date from the middle ages and it now hosts a colorful, daily fruit and vegetable market. The Jardin des Plantes, its museums and the Seine are both easily accessible by foot with the Jardin des Plantes being no more than a few minute walk. Also easily accessible is the Pantheon, Place Monge, Arène de Lutèce, the Sorbonne and Luxembourg Gardens.
If you love to eat, there are a plethora of choices including a one star guide Michelin restaurant which is one of our favorites and is no more than two blocks away. In addition to the traditional bistros, local restaurants and bars, the neighborhood offers some excellent ethnic choices. If you get tired of dining out, the apartment offers dishes, pots, pans and silver so as to enable you to prepare a lovely dinner in Françoise's beautifully equipped kitchen. (Keep in mind that there are five bakeries, not including rue Mouffetard, so you should always be able to find fresh bread and goodies daily.)
The apartment will be Françoise’s permanent residence in the near future. As a result, it is evident that much love went into the restoration with an attention to quality and aesthetics. Françoise’s goal is that those who choose her apartment will have a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. For example, you can count on a bottle of champagne to be waiting for you as well as some of her favorite wines!
I will be meeting you at the apartment with keys to give you a tour of the apartment and to help answer any questions on getting settled into the neighborhood. More often than not I am only a phone call away.
I decided to retire in Paris after having lived and worked in Key West, Florida for about 20 years. I recently published a book called 'Parisian Postcards : Snapshots of Life in Paris' and I continue to enjoy sharing my experiences of living here with others. Location, location, location! You can enjoy a piece of luxury living in one of Paris’s most sought out neighborhoods. Here is a neighborhood not overwhelmed with tourists but everything is at your fingertips from great restaurants to shops and banks. Best of all, it is easy to get to the Seine for a daily walk and the owner wants each person to have a comfortable and luxurious stay! La vie en rose in the 5th.

We stayed here for 5 nights, celebrating 25th wedding anniversary. It is a very nice, beautifully styled and remodeled apartment with everything you need to get settled. Loui met us there and had great suggestions for the area and Paris in general. She is a great hostess. It is a nice and convenient area, with walks through the Jardin de Plantes to River Siene. Recommend the crepe lady on the corner and morning market at Place d'Itale (has fresh produce, meats, cheese, etc). I gave it only 4 stars because they were painting the building, had scaffolding all around the exterior - busy workers made quite a bit of noise during the day which dampened the desire for a peaceful retreat and made patio unavailable. Recommend that you ask about this being completed.
The Apartment is very clean and well appointed. Loui is very welcoming and has a wealth of information to help enjoy Paris. However, a major painting project is in process and scaffolding completely surrounds the building and entrances. We were told to keep windows and outdoor shutters closed to keep dust out, making the apartment very dark. The outdoor patio is closed during the painting project. We were not told about this on-going project, so be sure to check before you reserve.
Three of us stayed at this beautiful, renovated apartment with all the amenities we could ask for. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pull out sofa. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make wonderful meals, although with so many great restaurants around we didn't often eat in!! Walking distance to many great sites. Loui was great to work with and always easy to reach for questions or concerns. We would definitely stay here again.
A beautiful and luxurious apartment with a central location convenient to metro, shopping, local flavor, bakery, market, and so much more. Manager Loui speaks English fluently and is a tremendous resource. A great way to visit Paris without being a tourist!!!
This completely renovated, beautifully appointed apartment is a gem. The neighborhood is safe, great for sightseeing and people watching. Loui, the manager, lives close by and is very helpful, extremely knowledgeable of the area and will make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. Wish I could live there year round!
This apartment was everything we could have wanted, and more. It was so brilliantly decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The linens were fresh, and the attention to detail was amazing. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything necessary to cook any meal. Working with Loui was a dream. She was very helpful, from our first contact with her, to our departure. When I noticed that there wasn't any decaf coffee, she brought some over for us. We had another minor issue with something in the apartment, and she was there to take care of it, almost immediately. The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood that felt very safe to walk around any time day or night, which we often did as we came home late from dinner or sight-seeing. The goodies that were provided were so welcome, especially after a long flight. This was a wonderful place to stay. We would highly recommend it to friends and family, and would definitely stay there again.

We have a simple contract that we ask you to read and sign. This includes a "Rental Rules" page to initial, scan and return. We ask that you complete the contract to include your address and phone number, sign the contract, scan it and return it to us by email. The purpose is simply to remind our guests to treat the apartment as their own.
