About Evelyn Rosenberg

I am a sculptor who does large scale commissioned public art. We have been coming to Taos to ski and hike for over 30 years. When this lovely condo became available, we decided it was time to buy a place.

Evelyn Rosenberg purchased this house in 2009

Why Evelyn Rosenberg chose El Prado

We like that it is close to town, shopping, galleries, and good restaurants with the ski area close by.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy the tennis and swimming facilities at Quail Ridge with the feeling of a private home that has amazing views of Taos mountains from both front and back.

Great location and spacious condo!

  • 5 of 5

We really liked this condo. Initially, we thought we were kind of out of the way of everything, but once we familiarized ourselves with the area, it's truly the perfect spot! We went skiing two days-Angel Fire was about 45 minutes drive and Red River was about 35 minutes drive. We also went tubing at Taos Ski Village which was about 25 minutes drive. Evelyn's place is very close to the Rio Grande gorge and the Pueblo. A drive into Downtown is super close. We visited the hot tub at the Clubhouse a couple times and it was a two minute walk from her place. This condo is very spacious, looked just like the pictures in the listing, had all the kitchen gadgets we needed, and a big picnic table in the dining room which was great for game night!

Perfect fit for our family of four. 3 bedrooms for this location is a must book.

  • 5 of 5

I will try to stay here again if my family wants to ski Taos for the third time. This is the best value for lodging I have found after staying multiple times at Red River, Angle Fire and Taos. I loved the garage. The heater is in the garage which means your car is nice and warm when you get in to go skiing even when the outside temperate is 20. WiFi worked great and layout of the condo was ideal for our family.

Room to Roam and a SUPER location!

  • 4 of 5

This condo is HUGE with plenty of room for a group of 6-8 if needed. The owner and property manager were both on top of communication, and everything was exactly as they said it would be! If you are looking for a place to call "base camp" you can not do better than this. It is located just on the edge of town with lots of easy to access back roads in to avoid the congestion on the main highway through Taos; and 25 minutes up the mountain to ski.

PROS: Lots of space and views are truly beautiful! Super location, near everything in town within 5 minutes. Great owner/managers too. SURPRISE, there is a sauna too!!!

CONS: A bit dated and in need of some freshening up.

SUMMARY: 4-stars due to dated interior and property hot tub was not available during our visit the last week of 2017. HOWEVER the views, spacious rooms, location and owner/manager are WONDERFUL!!! We would definitely stay here again!

Broken heater in a snowstorm!

  • 2 of 5

We stayed in this condo over a three-day weekend in January. We had 4 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room for all of us, though the bed situation was not as listed in the description or photos - there was a double bed instead of two singles. The house was nice and clean, but the heater was hard to get started and broke completely on the second day. The handyman was responsive and came over when we called him, but said there was nothing he could do until morning so we had to sleep without heat - in a huge snowstorm! We contacted the owner when we got home and she credited our rental fee because of the inconvenience. Overall, the house is nice enough and the owner was very responsive to our situation, but I would not stay here again.

Owner's Response: This women told me she was coming with only one child and herself. Then she showed up with more people then we allow in our condo. (I did not know that until later) After she left she threatened me that she would write a bad review if I did not give all her money back. I gave her back her money because I felt bad about the heat although the problem was fixed the next day. She left the place a mess. I pointed out to her that although I returned her money she had disregarded the terms of our agreement, and brought all those extra people and left the place a mess. I guess she decided to write this bad review anyway. Never rent to this women. I would not be surprised if she turned off the heat to get her money back.

Great condo for multiple families or a large family

  • 4 of 5

The condo was very spacious and stocked with everything we needed to cook daily. The home was very clean, had plenty of hot water for our large group (5 kids). Our contact was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any concerns.

The only drawback is that the drive is a good 20 minutes from the condo going up the mountain to the ski valley, and can be a bit stressful when the road is icy.
