Wonderful villa in Lipari with stunning sea view

Bedrooms 3
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 8 sleepings

The villa is located in the area of Chiesa Vecchia in Lipari, one of the most suggestive panoramic place in Sicily and in Aeolian Islands. Set in the North of Lipari, in the hamlet of Quattropani, the house offers to its guests a unique view of an uncontaminated sea, with Panarea and Stomboli on its background… an enchanting setting you will never forget!

A mystic place, surrounded by nature, characterized by silence and peace. During the clearer days you will think to almost touch Panarea, while Stromboli could give you excting unespected eruptions and fireworks at night.

Walking through a short path (60 metres), just 200 metres far from the villa, you will get to the Sanctuary of the Chiesa Vecchia, may built in 1588. The building is characterized by a bright white among the blue of the sea and of the sky. From here, especially at sunset, it is possible to admire one of the most beautiful landscape which embraces all islands of the archipelago, but Volcano; so it is possible to see Alicudi, Filicudi, Salina, Panarea and Stromboli, from the left to the right side.

The house has about 7000 squared-metres of private backyard in a typical Aeolian style, with particular plants around the big terraces and the relaxing spots.

The inside area is about 120 sq and it is organized as follow: one bigger apartment upstairs, furnished with one double bedroom with air-conditioning, one bathroom with shower, a living room with kitchen and a wide panoramic terrace equipped with deck-chairs and sun-chairs for your relaxing moments.

There are two separated dependances downstairs, equally made up of: living room with little kitchen furnished with sofa-bed for 1 person, 1 double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.

The villa is also equipped with TV sat of 32 inches, washing machine, air-conditioning, mosquito nets, hair-dryer, linens and bath towels, outdoor shower.

It is possible to rent scooters, cars, boats.

Moreover, the villa is located in a popular trekking route, which runs from Chiesa Vecchia to Acqua Calda and close to another trekking path of Cave di Caolino.

This villa is the perfect place for your dreamy holiday! Imagine to wake up in the morning, go to the veranda and enjoy the sound of nature, a soft breeze, an amazing landscape... close your eyes and forget your city stress! Here you will find the right atmosphere.

PARKING: It is possible to park on the street near the path leading to the villa.

Since the streets in Lipari, as all the streets in islands like this, are narrow, we suggest our guests to rent little cars.

INTERNET (Free WiFi): the WiFi connection is provided through a movable device to solve any inconvenience in case of poor receptivity, because of the morphological characteristics of the area where the villa is located. If this happens, you can move the mobile router inside the villa or take it with you even outside the house.

Relaxed and remote, perfect for unplugging from the world

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Lipari. This house sits on the west side of the island in Quattropani, so you will need to get comfortable driving around the island unless you bring everything in with you and want to eat all your meals at the house. We traveled with our 3 young children, and they were comfortable and happy in the house and wide open space around it. The caretaker is a kind man who provided a high chair and a crib for our baby, and offered to bring dinner to us on two occasions. The rooms were clean and bright, and the grounds were immaculate. The dishwasher and washing machine worked well, water was hot and pressure good. It is very quiet until morning when the rooster next door crows loudly.

The house is about 1/4 mile from the road, so we took a headlamp and flashlight with us if we were going out for the evening. The caretaker only speaks Italian, so we had to get creative when communicating with him, but he was patient. The agency was rather unresponsive while we were on the island, preferring to defer to the caretaker, which was frustrating when we couldn't find him at the hydrofoil. Please note there are no car ferries during the summer months.

Overall, lovely experience, very relaxing.

Owner's Response: Dear guest, thank you for your nice review. We are happy to know you stayed well at the villa. At the same time, we are astonished to read we were unresponsive as we are always ready to reply and help our guests. I am sorry if you were wrong and wrote us when you arrived instead to write the caretaker as indicated in our instructions... We weren't at the office for the lunch break (1 hour) and when we got your emails we already knew you had arrived to the villa.

Quiet, Remote, Beautiful

  • 4 of 5

This is a very cute, remote, two-story, 3-unit villa in Quatropani. For those looking to be away from it all, it is quiet and very secluded, with very few neighbors, with the most action being the nightly sunset watchers at Chiesa Vecchia just down the street. The agent, Francesco, was very helpful and responsive from booking all the way to helping solve minor on-site issues. The local caretaker, Giuseppe, is very friendly and always willing to help out. The owner is very nice and seems to take pride in his home with a combination of rustic charm and modern finishes for decor. Bring your own wifi hotspot (you can rent from major car rental companies in Catania) as the wifi in the house isn't reliable. Cable and Satellite TV worked well, despite having to re-boot the box each time. Kitchen is fully functional, but ask to ensure that the propane gas has been filled. Only a 4x4 vehicle should use the unpaved road leading to the house, otherwise park by the church and walk down to the villa (two minutes walk). Power can go out, which is typical, but it's easy to turn it back on from the main road. Views are stunning, and the property is large and very private. Primarily outdoor living, but the upstarirs main villa is equipped with a somewhat modern living room with comfortable couches and TV. Laundry machine worked well. You must stock everything yourself (soaps, olive oil, everything). Closest beach is Aquacalda 5 KM away. Outdoor shower is amazing with views of Stromboli as well. Overall a very charming house, good for small group or couple - couldn't ask for better communication between agent/caretaker/and the owner. Overall, for a house in the hills its perfect. We are beach people, and had no issue packing up the car every morning and driving to the beaches, and then spending the remains of the day at the house over wine and snacks. Drive to town is about 25 mins, restaurants and grocery stores are on the way up/down.

Villa con vista mozzafiato

  • 4 of 5

vacanza perfetta

  • 5 of 5

The island of Lipari is the biggest one in the Archipelago which includes other nice islands easily reachable by boat from here. The island is an active volcano whose only activity is represented by fumaroles and thermal springs.

Lipari has a great charm thanks to its wonderful beaches, shops, pubs and restaurants. It has become a very important international tourist destination in the last years, so that the whole archipelago was declared a UNESCO heritage site.

Piazza Ugo di Sant’Onofrio, known as "Marina Corta", overlooks the sea and is full of bars and restaurants. At the extreme east of the square there is the fortress of the Castle of Lipari, while on sea side stands the historic church “Chiesa delle Anime del Purgatorio”. The square, due to its location, is very popular especially on summer evenings.

CASTLE OF LIPARI AEOLIAN MUSEUM: The Regional Aeolian Archaeological Museum, housed in the complex of the castle of Lipari, is one of the most important in the Mediterranean and has about fifty rooms where you can admire precious materials coming both from the town, both from the funerary trousseau and also objects, masks, statues and ceramics.

The historic center of Lipari is dominated by the fortified wall called Castle located on a high cliff overlooking the sea, built in the fourth century BC with structures that reach up to the middle ages.

ACQUACALDA: is a fraction of Lipari, whose name probably derives from the presence of hot springs which no longer exist, Acquacalda means Hot water.

The history of Acquacalda was inextricably linked to the pumice stone exploitation, whose extraction was interrupted in 2000 following the entry of the island in the UNESCO list, for its geological uniqueness.

CANNETO: it is an area within a very large bay, with restaurants and pubs that make it a lively zone during the summer evenings.

QUATTROPANI: its original core is to be found in the village of Chiesa Vecchia.

The area is characterized by the presence of caves used for the extraction of kaolin, unused today, where the landscape is characterized by bright colours and shapes.

Other points of interest are Church of Purità di Maria Santissima in the neoclassical style; the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima della Catena, a small religious building located at the highest point of the village from where you can observe a beautiful view.
