Overview

About the property

8 sleepings, 3 bedrooms, free WiFi, bbq, veranda, parking

This charming house, situated on a gently rolling hill, is the choice for those who want to enjoy the tranquility of the Sicilian countryside and at the same time to discover this area of Sicily, rich both in beautiful and unspoiled beaches - including many natural reserves - and picturesque places.

It is in fact, three minutes from Seccagrande and five from Borgo Bonsignore, a picturesque village chosen by Google for the annual meeting "The Camp" followed by the traditional gala dinner organized in the main square.

Villa Belvedere is located in a part of a duplex villa. The house is on one level and enjoys the view of the countryside from one side, and the wonderful and relaxing view of the sea from the other.

It consists of two double bedrooms with ceiling fans (the location of the house makes it a pretty cool place so the airconditioning isn’t necessary); a room with a single bed and fan; a living room with alarge table, television, a comfortable sofa bed for 2 persons, fan a comfortable kitchen and a comfortable bathroom.

Moreover it is possible, on request, to add a single bed in the living room and a cot.

The outdoor area is the pride of the property: a very large veranda with a table for 8 people overlooking the sea and the well maintained garden. Here you will find sofas; plants equipped with evening light in order to create a relaxed and lively atmosphere during the open air moments; barbecue; garden chairs and sun loungers.

On the back you'll find a space used to the park the cars.

Free WiFi included.

Nice property in great location - away from it all

  • 4 of 5

Great beaches nearby. Not much happening in nearby villages.... Be warned if you like to eat or drink out a lot.

The views are amazing..

  • 4 of 5

The property itself is down a beaten track situated off back roads between Borgo Bonsignore and Seccagrande. Perched on a hill top overlooking The Med, the backdrop is stunning. The property is well maintained, clean and has excellent Wi-Fi. You will need transport as there's NOT many local shops close by.. We found some excellent restaurants within 10 mins drive. We were here out of season and places were just beginning to open locally but all within a short drive to Ribera, where you can get anything you need. We got all of our major shopping bits at a local Lidl..

We loved the place and the tranquillity was just what was required. Just one word of warning, the mosquitos take no prisoners here.. we found we couldn't stay outside and enjoy the evenings sky due to the mosquitos even after purchasing every known deterrent to man..

The owners English is limited but they are very welcoming and you can get an understanding very easily. We would give them plenty of notice for when you'll be arriving at the meeting point. We also had a very nice and much needed welcome pack when we did arrive.. enjoy your stay.. we left some guides and restaurant flyers..

Une vue de rêve qui rend le séjour magique!

  • 5 of 5

Terras was erg ruim. Genoeg comfortabel meubilair voor buiten.

MAIN ATTRACTIONS:

The Valley of the Temples - Agrigento

The Valley of the Temples is one of the most suggestive attraction of Sicily. It rises in the southern part of the old city and is considered the biggest archaeological park in the world. Among a blooming almond trees countryside, the wonderful ruins of the temples, whose architectural majesty is still intact, will fascinate you.

This archaeological marvel consists of eight temples built in the 5th century BC: the Temple of Hera, the Temple of Concordia, the Temple of Heracles, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of Hephaestos, the Temple of Demeter, and the Temple of Asclepius (the God of Medicine). The last one is situated on the banks of the Akragas river, all the others are in the same area on a rocky scarp in the southern modern Agrigento.

The Valley of the Temples is the most sublime evidence of the Greek civilization in Sicily until today and it has been an Unesco world heritage site since 1998.

The Turkish Staircase – Realmonte

“Scala dei Turchi” is a singular white cliff made by limestone and clay which rises along the coast of Realmonte and overlooks a crystalline sea. It has became a tourist attraction for its particular colour and shape; wind and rain have modelled it throughout the time, creating a huge natural staircase whose lines are rounded and irregular. Its white rocks look brighter thanks to the sun light and the water is incredibly clear.. it’s a paradise!

The name comes from the Turkish invasions. According to an old legend, the Saracens got there from the sea and climbed the cliff until the top, once there they attacked the local people.

Sciacca – Baths and Carnival

Sciacca rises on a famous archaeological place between Selinunte and Agrigento; it is the oldest baths resort of Sicily and one of the biggest town in the south-eastern coast. It is a tourist destination not only for its gorgeous coasts, but also for its Baths and its famous Carnival.

The spa resorts of Sciacca have been famous since antiquity. All its people know the legend telling that Daedalus, expert in labyrinths, was able to channel the hot vapours coming from the fissures of the rock and use them for baths. Very famous are the natural steam caves of St. Calogero, its healthiness attracts not only baths followers but also people who suffer from osteoarthritis and respiratory disease.

One of the most beautiful and oldest carnival in Sicily and Italy takes places in Sciacca; there are six days of celebration with featuring impressive allegorical parades. The atmosphere is full of colour, pure fun and cheerfulness, everyone takes part in celebrations.
