Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Two friends and I recently stayed at this property and it was perfect! We were in town for the Ryder Cup and we were looking for a place to relax with some more space than a hotel. The area was very cool, with lots of fun restaurants to choose from. We were able to walk everywhere. The property itself gave us plenty of room to spread out and had a great feel of home. We had a chance to meet Harry for a few minutes while departing and he was extremely nice and accommodating. My friends and I would highly recommend this location if you are planning on visiting the greater Minneapolis area!

Loved our Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Harry was helpful. He outfitted my husband and me with bikes for the week, gave us good directions for getting around the city and handed out some restaurant tips. The house was close to the wonderful art museum, restaurants, grocery and within a charming neighborhood. We spent the week enjoying the city with our daughter who recently moved to Minneapolis. We will definitely rent the house again when visiting her and tell other family member that they should stay there, too!

We had a wonderful visit to Uptown Minneapolis. The house was perfect for us. Comfortable beds and lots of windows letting in the light. Walking distance to restaurants and dinning. We hope to stay there again very soon!

Convenient location. Walk to restaurants and grocery. Needs deep cleaning.

  • 2 of 5

The residence smelled like a high school locker room. The futon seemed to hold body odor from years of sweaty people. My clothes smelled after sitting on it. The small table in the front room was not clean; wiped it down and cloth was dirty. Also, there was a sticky residue that would not come off. The microwave had not been cleaned. Rugs need changing or serious cleaning. The yard needs clearing - toilet bowl in side yard, back yard was littered with stuff that needed to be repurposed or disposed of. The bath mat was either unclean or needs replacing. Furnishing appears to be yard sale quality. No bedside lamp worthy of reading light. On the plus side, it is spacious. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked. The location is nice - convenient to downtown while maintaining a neighborhood feel. Grocery store, coffee shops, and restaurants are within walking distance. I'm usually hesitant to write reviews; I don't wish to negatively impact the owner. I did take a few pictures of the property because it was unkempt. I'm writing because I received several request to review this property. I would not recommend it.

Owner's Response: First off, if there was such a problem with the unit, the ideal solution would have been to hear about it when the guest checked in. We never want any of our guests to be uncomfortable for even one day. But this guest neglected to contact us at any time during her stay- although it is clearly stated in our welcome message to do so with any concern or problem. It is also curious that the sticky substance on the table in the sunroom curiously appeared AFTER her stay. This is not something we would ignore. So here we have a very negative, bad reveiw which we are obligated to respond to after the fact when there is little we can do to rectify the problem or issue. Late spring in MN is a time for renewal and though the yard was not as spiffy as it could be after it warms up a bit..it was not an ideal place for anyone to spend time and in fact we never saw the guest in the yard. She choose to denigrate it from her window. Franlkly in 40 degrees, it's not advertised-as part of the rental agreement and guests are not outside soaking up the wind and rain! The toilet bowl is decroative and has plants growing in it all summer. It is in our side yard which contain numerous perennials. We have yet to hear a negative comment about it. Frankly we vehemently disagree with everything this reviewer wrote- and it speaks volumes that we have yet to receive negative feedback about anything this reviewer choose to focus on. So future guests should know that there is no discernable pattern to her objections. Please read our other reviews..we have many. By the sheer number of good reviews we have recieved, it would seem that this reviewer had a bias toward our home which she choose to publicizei in a very negative way. We wish her better luck in choosing her next vacation home.
