Tanners is a delightful chalet bungalow in quiet Port La Salle on the edge of Yarmouth (around a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk from Yarmouth centre). Built in 1998 in the grounds of "Eastmore", an estate with historical connections to the Johnnie Walker whisky empire and Countess of Caernarvon (of Tutenkhamun fame), this beautiful home is a few minutes from the Solent foreshore. With easy access to Yarmouth ferry port, coastal walks and cycle trails this Isle of Wight holiday home is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Please ask for our discounted vehicle & foot passenger ferry deals when you book. Discounted short break prices also available - please ask for a quote. Special Red Funnel / cottage rental packages over the low season.

The accommodation is located mostly at ground floor level and includes a welcoming hallway leading on the left to two bedrooms (1 twin and 1 double) and a bathroom. On the right you will find a spacious open plan living/dining area and kitchen. Here two sets of double doors open onto a courtyard garden with garden seating and a table – perfect for outside dining. Upstairs you will find a further double bedroom with ensuite, and a utility room. The property is double-glazed and with gas central heating is ideal for holidays and short breaks all year round.

Guests staying for 7 nights or more are welcomed with a hamper of local island produce. A typical hamper will include milk, cheese, butter, biscuits, apple juice, honey, jam/marmalade, cake, eggs, tomato ketchup (items can be swapped on request). Fairtade coffee, tea & sugar are also provided in the cottage. Ferry inclusive deals also available - please ask for prices at time of booking.

Yarmouth is a beautiful town at the mouth of the River Yar and is full of history such as the 16th century Yarmouth castle and Grade II listed pier, both offering magnificent views of the Solent. The small streets are charming, the shops a delight and there is a plentiful array of pubs and restaurants. Nearby attractions include Fort Victoria and Needles Park. Yarmouth is in the heart of splendid countryside with the River Yar estuary, Bouldnor, Hamstead and Newtown offering great places for walking or cycling.

Amazing holiday!

Loved everything about our stay on the IOW, the bungalow was perfect for us really homely and comfortable, lovely garden and in a great position for walking and exploring the rest of the island. (Great hamper on arrival) Also quick, efficient communication with the owner when booking etc. The weather was gorgeous for the whole week and we had lovely walks along the waters edge into Yarmouth for our evening meal with lots of great places to eat....amazing sunsets to look at on the walk back. This was our first visit to the IOW and will definitely return and would have no hesitation in booking Tanners for our next stay.

Very enjoyable break

We had an excellent weeks holiday. The weather was very good every day which meant we enjoyed the garden which was a great suntrap. The location was impressive and convenient for the ferry and for visiting the various parts of the island. Everyone was very friendly. I would certainly make a return visit another year.

Tanners Stay

Lovely week at Tanners. The cottage is in a great position to access lots of places on the island- we had a busy week traveling around. Very clean and well maintained, lovely and peaceful. Great to have the reassurance of safe and secure parking on a drive. We enjoyed walking to the shore in the evenings. The cottage is fully equipped for all your needs. Just needs a few tiny tweeks - e.g both soap dispensers were nearly empty on our arrival. Thanks for an enjoyable week.
