About Chris

We have owned the property since March 2015 and whenever possible we thoroughly enjoy spending weekends and holidays at the cottage. We have particularly enjoyed exploring the walks and lovely pubs in the region! There is so much to see and explore in the Dales and we hope you enjoy the cottage as much as we continue to do so ...

Chris purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Chris chose Craven District

We have completely refurbished the property - keeping the character features such as AGA and wood burning stove, whilst adding in modern amenities such as Wi-Fi and a new central heating system.

We still very much use the cottage as our second home - enjoying the village amenities and wonderful walks, whilst exploring the region and finding great village pubs - real hidden gems.

We hope you get as much pleasure from the cottage and surrounding areas as we continue to.

What makes this cottage unique

The Yorkshire Dales is not only a walkers paradise but there are so many exciting places to visit, including the historic town of Skipton and spa town of Harrogate.

Other great places to see include:-

Bolton Abbey Estate – 12th century priory ruins, Stump Cross Caverns – stunning natural caves, Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, Kilnsey Horse Riding/Pony Trekking and picturesque villages such as Burnsall and Kettlewell.

For cyclists, the Dales offers fantastic riding through beautiful scenery

The cottage is in the midst of some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain and there are numerous walks from the doorstep. The owner Chris is very helpful and quick to respond. We were delighted with our stay.

lovely location lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing stay at Laburnum cottage it was beautifully clean very comfortable and had everything we needed. the only thing I would say is I needed extra blankets in the single room as it did get cold during the night, however, this was easily rectified.

The owners had left a bottle of red wine which I have to say was a lovely thought and very welcome after a days walking. both the house and the garden were dog friendly and safe which pleased the spaniel lol.

The cottage is close to some beautiful walks both on the doorstep and a short drive away. we took advantage of both.

At the bottom of the road is a tea shop which to my delight sold vegan cakes!! which were amazing.

We both agreed that we would return to this cottage if we ever came this way again.

thank you Chris

Plenty of space with the exception of second bedroom - more suitable two children. Pleasant decor and nothing we thought missing in way of facilities.

A fabulous cottage in a beautiful part of the world.

We stayed here with our 2 daughters and dog and we’ve all had a wonderful time.

The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived with all the amenities we needed, including a welcome bottle of wine! The bedrooms were cosy and have exceptionally comfy beds. I would highly recommend this cottage.
