Overview

About the property

Village apartment close to open forest and South Coast. 2 bed, 1 bath (sleeps 4)

Brookley Dairy is a cosy period apartment in the heart of charming Brockenhurst overlooking the high street where ponies and donkeys wander freely. It is situated on the first and second floors above the village bakery and ideally located for local amenities, restaurants, tea shops and transport links (Brockenhurst mainline railway station is a level 8 minute walk away).

Accessed via an external flight of stairs behind the property, it has a dedicated parking space that is ideal for one small’ish car (or careful driver!). There is somewhere to secure bikes, but no external storage or outside space..

The spacious hall provides plenty of storage for hats, coats, walking boots and wellies, plus a quiet corner to enjoy our guest book library.

The kitchen has everything to make your stay as convenient as possible – including fridge with freezer compartment, washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas hob, electric fan oven and microwave. Some essential groceries will be there to welcome you after your journey.

The bright living room features a 42” Smart TV, comfy sofas, electric ‘wood burning’ stove and dining table for 4.

The first floor bathroom has an over bath shower, as well as fluffy towels and robes plus complementary organic toiletries.

On the second floor there are two good sized bedrooms, the front bedroom has a double bed and the rear bedroom has two singles. All beds have super-comfortable french linen bedding and squishy pillows for a relaxing night’s sleep.

Brookley Dairy offers a convenient base to explore the local area. Suitable for couples or families with older children (our property isn't really suitable for very young children as there are no stair gates, cot or high chair etc - also access is via an external open-tread flight of steps), We also welcome dogs - although there is no outside space with the apartment, there are acres of open forest within minutes (there is a £50 deep cleaning charge per visit).

Things to do:

Walking - Visit the National Park Authority website for information on walking routes in the area at www.newforestnpa.gov.uk.

Contact details to book can be found here: http://www.fordfarmstables.co.uk/

Golf - Brockenhurst Manor Golf Club is a premier 6220 yard 18 hole course surrounded by wildlife and great landscape and designed by the great course architect Harry Colt. It is approx. 1.3 miles from Brookley Dairy.

See http://www.brokenhurst-manor.org.uk/ for fees etc.

The official New Forest visitor website has maps for downloading. Go to: www.thenewforest.co.uk for cycling routes and more information.

Shopping (Brockenhurst) - Brockenhurst has a traditional high-street with gallery and antique shops, butcher, greengrocer, bakery and a choice of Tesco Express and Sainsburys Local. A full list of shops can be seen on the www.brockenhurst-newforest.org.uk website.

Whilst in Lymington, a short walk from the high-street is the beautiful cobbled streets leading down to the waters' edge, lined with a wide range of fascinating boutiques and local stores.

Visit www.lymington.org for more information on Lymington, its' shops and attractions. Each Saturday there is a large market on the main high-street, a very popular destination for locals and visitors alike.

About Sharon White & Michaela Askey

Brookley Dairy is owned and managed by Sharon White and her daughter Michaela Askey.

The family has lived in the New Forest for the last 10 years and will be happy to help if you have any questions about the local area.

Sharon White & Michaela Askey purchased this apartment in 2016

Why Sharon White & Michaela Askey chose New Forest

Although now living in Minstead, we moved to Brockenhurst originally when leaving the family smallholding in Wales 10 years ago.

We fell in love with Brockenhurst and the surrounding area, and when Brookley Dairy came on the market we also fell in love with its quirky period charm and bright spacious rooms. Once you walk through the front door you will feel you are in a charming cottage not an apartment.

Perfect apartment in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Everything was perfect. The apartment was immaculate. Even better than the photos. one of the best holiday homes I have stayed in. Location is ideal for anyone coming from the station, just minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this home away from home. Thank you for a great weekend away!!!

Absolutely beautiful apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my other half (Simon) stayed in this lovely apartment from the 6th February 2017 til the 11th February 2017. Such a hidden gem! It's only a few minutes walk from the Train Station, and the Bike Hire (Cycle Experience) is opposite the Train Station too. There is a Tesco Express and a Sainsbury's Local less than a minutes walk from the apartment, so the perfect holiday for anyone that doesn't drive, or wants to have a relaxing holiday. However, the best part is the Bakery below the apartment!! The smell of freshly baked bread first thing in the morning is divine!

The apartment has everything you would need for everyday use; cutlery, crockery, tea pot, cafetiere etc. The kitchen is well equipped with Saucepans, Glass Oven Dishes and such, so no need to buy any extra stuff. The T.V has Netflix, which we really enjoyed winding down too (you need to have your own account) after a day exploring the surrounding areas. There is also a basket with leaflets for local attractions, take-aways and points of interest, which is a lovely idea!

There is so much to see and do in New Forest; I have visited twice now, and there is still so much I haven't seen! We both can't wait to return!

Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!! We shall definitely recommend to our friends and family! :)

THEY DON’T SUPPLY SLIPPERS!

  • 5 of 5

Well… It's a whole lot easier than listing all the things they do supply as everything is catered for.

It would seem that the owners are not half hearted when it comes to holiday lets. Everything is up together, clean and tidy.

All rooms are a good size, bright and tastefully decorated. There’s also a very appetising smell of freshly baked bread in the mornings.

Parking looks like it could be tricky but I squeezed my oversized car in easy enough and my driving is akin to Miss Marple’s.

I've rented quite a few places in my time and this is up there with the best. If you’re looking for a central location to explore the New Forrest, then this is the one! Bring your own slippers though.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. We are so proud of Brookley Dairy, and feedback like yours makes it all worthwhile! Brockenhurst is such a lovely location to visit, and we set out to provide our guests with a comfortable home from home so they can relax and enjoy their stay. Kind regards, Sharon PS. We used to provide towelling slippers for our guests but our supplier stopped doing them - maybe it's time to find another supplier? :)

Wonderful apartment in a prime location

  • 4 of 5

Brookley Dairy was a wonderful place to stay, Immaculately clean, extremely spacious and fantastically located to explore the gorgeous New Forest

The owners were extremely helpful when booking the property and had left some essentials for our stay which was much appreciated.

I would recommend staying here as it was very homely, clean and comfortable and you can always smell the wonderful home cooking of the bakery below.

Everyday is a happy day at Brookley Dairy.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Brookley Dairy for 5 nights in October and thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and the surrounding area.

We chose this location due to its proximity to public transport and shops. We made some day trips to Yarmouth ( Isle of Wight), Lyndhurst,

Ashurst, and Lymington all by public transport. We also enjoyed some local walks.

Two well known supermarkets are open until late 7 days a week and local shops are excellent with friendly people. The bakery below starts working at 3 am but the area was fairly quiet throughout the day and night.

Apartment was very well equipped and maintained. We will be making another booking for next year.
