About the property

More than a home away from home with a luxurious interior design and mod-cons.

Nestled in the beautiful and ancient Kilminorth Woodland, West Looe of Cornwall. A spacious and cosy dwelling amongst almost an acre of private lawned gardens, woodland and stream. Here you can find an abundance of wildlife, we have seen heron, peregrine, buzzards, swans and deer in the garden alone. Fish for salmon and trout in the stream. Kayak over the picturesque river of West Looe. Wade in the cool stream on a hot summers day, or snooze under the shade of the apple trees. Warm yourself by the log fire, hear the trickle of the river and watch the stars in this unspoilt and protected part of Cornwall.

Shallow Pool is more than a home away from home with a touch of luxury to greet you after a woodland walk, a boat trip on the river or a day on the beach.

Visit Cornwall's charming and prettiest coastal villages nearby. Experience Cornish dining and quench your thirst in the local award winning pubs and restaurants.

Why Sonia Day chose Looe

We had been looking for a property in Cornwall for over 5 years and when we saw this one, it was perfect. A perfect place for our children to explore, to get away from the hustle and bustle of London, slow down and take a breath. I think it's easy to see why we fell in love with this one! When we are back at the grindstone in London we would like others to experience all it has to offer, it would be a shame not to share it.

A charming cottage in a wonderful peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

This is our second time at Shallow Pool and we love it. The cottage is beautiful with a modern yet cozy lounge and large, well equipped dining kitchen. The grounds are huge and add to the feeling of remoteness even though it is only a 10 minute drive from the bustling coastal resort of Looe. The only negative is that 2 of the bedrooms are a bit small with the twin beds on the narrow side. A small price to pay for such a lovely holiday cottage.

The Perfect Place To Relax And Enjoy The Delights Of Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

Shallow Pool was absolutely amazing, and what a stunning setting. So peaceful and relaxing and a perfect base from which to explore the delights of the surrounding areas. We cannot express just how perfect Shallow Pool is, and has absolutely everything you could wish for for a perfect holiday retreat.

The property is immaculately presented, with all the modern facilities one would need. Very comfortable and relaxing throughout the property and the gardens, well just wow!

Dog never happier on holiday

  • 5 of 5

Äd the garden. I was not able to get the wheelchair round the garden as the grass soggy, but if would be possible in summer i could enjoy the patio terrace.

With my ramp i was able to get my wheelchair in the house, but did not attempt to use it beyond the kitchen. We managed and the cottage is ideal for someone who needs one floor arrangement but it not suitable for someone dependant completely on using a chair.

The bed was good and we slept well.

The kitchen was well equipped and large enough for Fizzs crate

The cupboards were well stocked for cooking bits and bobs blike spices

Excellent support and assistance from the owners

The property was as we expected, very clean, tidy with a home from home feel. Very pleased

  • 5 of 5

Arriving at the property was made easy by the directions provided. We found the welcome gifts to be a nice touch.

The house was as expected, clean and tidy with a home from home feel. The photos on the website are a good representation of the property.

All needs where taken care of, well stocked kitchen and bedrooms, extra pillows and blankets.

We really enjoyed our stay and would defiantly come again.

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd year at Shallowpool-a real home from home! Everything you need,- lovely and cosy, far enough out to chill and relax but close enough to Looe to enjoy all the New Year festivities. Can't speak highly enough of this place ....we love it!!!

Clean, contemporary, comfortable and very relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect 4 day stay at this property and would have no hesitation in recommending it. It was spotlessly clean and as we arrived late, the lights and heating had been put on for us. There was also a food pack which was thoughtful and welcome. The gardens are lovely and were secure for our dog, and more thoughtful touches were poop bags and doggy biscuits in the utility. All the rooms have been tastefully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked and nothing seems to have been overlooked. A good location near Looe and a perfect retreat.
