About Ceri Evans

Ceri and Rob are very much local to the area. Ceri grew up in the nearby village of Monknash where her family farmed much of the land visible to the West towards Nash Point. Rob was raised a few miles further west, in Gileston, near Aberthaw. Both have the 'Heritage Coast' in their blood! Today, they live in Penllyn, near Cowbridge, where Ceri opened her first holiday cottage- Pen Fistla Barns.

Ceri Evans purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Ceri Evans chose Wales

Having had so much enjoyment from running a 'country cottage' Ceri is eager to take her experience to the coast. Nyth Bran is perfectly located, being in the heart of the village (nestled between a nearby pub and fine restaurant!) yet only a five minute walk to the coastline. From there, many stunning views can be gained along a labyrinth of footpaths.

What makes this cottage unique

The Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Coastal path is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The 14 mile Coastal Path forms part of the Wales Coast Path, a world first for a country to have a public footpath along its entire coast. Its wildlife and features are dramatic whilst the red limestone and shale cliffs are embedded with fossils exposed by the tides. The area's glorious beaches offer wide open sandy stretches alongside rugged pools; great for surfing, kayaking, swimming and exploring and horse riding.

Opened as a holiday cottage after a full renovation in Spring 2016, Nyth Bran is a delightful yet traditional stone cottage, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful sandy beach of Dunraven Bay, Southerndown, in the unspoilt Vale of Glamorgan. Set between the sea and open countryside, it benefits from a traditional pub and a fine restaurant, both within 50 meters. The glorious Heritage Coast coastal path is within 200m, and the nearby town of Bridgend is a 10 minute drive, or easy journey on public transport that runs hourly from outside the cottage. Cardiff and Swansea are within 30 minutes drive, accessed via the M4 some 15 minutes away.

The cottage is fitted to a high specification, newly furnished and decorated. Downstairs has an enclosed entrance hall, lounge with stove fireplace, separate dinning room and a galley kitchen. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor. The two large bedrooms are characterised by their pitch-pine floors and sea / countryside views. Whilst bed layout is flexible, a Kingsize bed with pull-out single makes up the main bedroom, whilst an equally large second bedroom is made up of two singles and a further pull-out if required.

Nyth Bran is the perfect seaside retreat for fun family holidays, cosy quiet breaks or active adventure seekers.
