With its very advantageous, central location near Dungannon in County Tyrone, Cavan View Farmhouse (circa 1820) is a very charming, well appointed, self-catering property ideal for holidaying families and friends, business travellers or even longer stay guests.
This two hundred year old Farmhouse, which has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, is set in half an acre of mature, secluded grounds. With ample parking, Cavan View Farmhouse is as much about a relaxing ‘getaway’ for a longer term break, whether business or pleasure, as it is about easy access to all parts of Northern Ireland for the enthusiastic tourist or for local activity breaks.
Family-friendly, Cavan View Farmhouse has a new 'Games Room' with table-tennis table, snooker and table-football. The house is equipped with a high chair, fitted stair gates and travel cot.
All rooms have oil fired, central heating radiators with individual radiator thermostats for easy temperature control.
BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
Cavan View sleeps up to six guests in four well-appointed roomy bedrooms.
A very advantageous feature of the Farmhouse is the dual-aspect downstairs en suite bedroom with (new) king-size bed - an ideal room for couples or family use as well as for less mobile guests. The en suite has an ‘in-bath’ shower.
Upstairs also has a 'king-size' bedroom, two twin bedded rooms and a family bathroom with corner shower.
With low level windows, the rooms are light, bright and cheerful and look out over our lovely, private gardens. All bed linen and towels are supplied.
A neutral look throughout the house combines perfectly with a touch of contemporary colour - a successful fusion of the old and the new...
KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM
The kitchen/dining room is cheerful from morning to night with South and West facing windows. There is more than ample room to cook and serve, a large extendable dining table and armchairs - for the casual approach to dining or just to keep good company. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped and provides a dishwasher, microwave, integrated fridge and freezer, electric oven and hob.
UTILITY ROOM AND LOO
The adjacent utility room has washing and ironing facilities (washing machine and tumble drier) and leads to the downstairs 'cloakroom' with toilet and hand basin. Utility cupboards house thermos flasks and picnic-ware for days 'out and about'. The external 'back' door leads out to the rear of the property from the utility room. We use this door all of the time - for easy access with shopping and muddy footwear.
LIVING ROOM, CONSERVATORY AND STUDY
The dining area has open plan access directly to the comfortable, cosy, chandeliered living room. Chill out in front of the TV on the reclining sofa or in the velvet covered armchairs. A range of DVDs is available in the adjoining study where a pine desk and executive swivel chair will help to keep business matters in order. (Unlimited Internet/Wifi is available). Sliding, glass doors lead from the living room to the bright conservatory with a wall mounted convector heater - or just enjoy that rapid build up of warmth in here on a mild or sunny day - an all-round view of the garden can be enjoyed.
THE GARDENS and GAMES ROOM
Cavan View's gardens are mature and well cared for. Our two Chestnut trees and one glorious Copper Beech total to around three hundred years of age between them! There's plenty of scope for ball games on the large lawn or a game of Hide and Seek all around - and our newly laid woodland walk is aptly named ‘Wood to the West’. Find the totally private, South-facing, ‘Secret Garden’ to relax in, 'picnic' or 'dine' at the picnic table when the sun shines... With spring bulbs, May-time rhododendrons (and tadpoles in our pond), lush summer growth and autumn colour our gardens retain interest all through the seasons.
Enjoy a game of table-tennis, table-football or snooker in our newly converted Games Room, visible from the kitchen windows.
OUT AND ABOUT
It’s only two miles to Tamnamore - for a EuroSpar supermarket, Fish and Chip shop, Chinese Takeaway and local restaurant/pub. Or cast out to nearby Dungannon, Moy, Armagh or Portadown for a wide range of restaurants and pubs.
For the tourist, we recommend alternating days to relax and sight see locally with days striking out a little farther afield. Cavan View Farmhouse is only an hour’s drive from most of Northern Ireland’s main attractions – Belfast’s Titanic Centre, Mourne Mountains, Giant’s Causeway or Fermanagh Lakes. Dublin and Donegal are less than two hours drive - Dublin is a great day out via train from nearby Portadown.
