On the 2015 Bisbee Historic Home Tour, "Hidden Treasures of Old Bisbee", this home promises to be a delight to all who view her. This eclectic house is conveniently located, just a 5 minute walk from Bisbee's downtown restaurants, shops and bars. This long or short term vacation rental introduces you to an artistic adventure in this 1906 antique dwelling. Previously owned by Rose Johnson a well known Mural Artist, the home retains a lot of her original embellishments. Particularly the Faux finishes in the living room and a Broken Tile Mosaic in the bathroom. Parking is easy, right outside the house, with just a few steps (see photo) to a covered porch complete with outdoor furniture.
This open plan which includes a queen bed, single bed, roll-a-way bed, and futon provides comfortable sleeping accommodations for six. The bathroom has an antique claw-foot tub and modern separate shower. A large eat-in, fully equipped kitchen includes dish washer, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. Two living room areas for watching TV or having conversations or reading. Old Bisbee is a lively town with always plenty of things going on throughout the year.
The interior and exterior paint colors were chosen by famous painter Rose Johnson, the previous owner. The mosaic floor of a beach scene with the beach, water, sun and stars remains on the bathroom floor. The outdoor display is the original kitchen sink is also another mosaic project by Rose.
As soon as we stepped into Rosie's house, we felt right at home. Everything was just perfect. All the drapes, floors, rugs, tile and all the color on the walls. The whole vibe comfortable and safe. We loved the visit there and hope there will be a time soon, we can stay there again. Thanks for everything, Marty & Christie Shoemaker
Rose's Place is cute, quaint, and historic…just like Bisbee itself. The house was comfortable, owners were kind and helpful, location was perfect. I highly recommend a stay in Rose's Place.
Our stay was so much fun, the house was perfect! We spent half the time on the porch soaking in the sounds of birds and playing games. Everything is within walking distance so no need to pile in the car. We would definitely stay here again.
From viewing the pictures on the website, we assumed we would have use of the whole house. The bright room with the daybed was locked. We were later told it was their office and not available. Why was the picture shown? We did not feel safe in the property for 2 reasons. We could not get cell service and there was no land line. The parking was on the street and the street was extremely narrow and winding. The space they called a bedroom had only a curtain instead of a wall and door. We had booked 4 nights but we only stayed 1 night. We did get our 3 nights rent refunded.
Funky in a good way! Rose's Place is roomy with some great mosaic tiling. Conveniently located with the Mimosa market across the street(try their fresh baked goods) and a few minutes walk to the drinking holes in Brewery Gulch. Easy parking, too(which is not always the case in town). Sue and Stephan are gracious hosts and you may even see them around town. Will stay here again.
