Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday home in Bisbee - Rose's Place Guesthouse

1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

On the 2015 Bisbee Historic Home Tour, "Hidden Treasures of Old Bisbee", this home promises to be a delight to all who view her. This eclectic house is conveniently located, just a 5 minute walk from Bisbee's downtown restaurants, shops and bars. This long or short term vacation rental introduces you to an artistic adventure in this 1906 antique dwelling. Previously owned by Rose Johnson a well known Mural Artist, the home retains a lot of her original embellishments. Particularly the Faux finishes in the living room and a Broken Tile Mosaic in the bathroom. Parking is easy, right outside the house, with just a few steps (see photo) to a covered porch complete with outdoor furniture.

This open plan which includes a queen bed, single bed, roll-a-way bed, and futon provides comfortable sleeping accommodations for six. The bathroom has an antique claw-foot tub and modern separate shower. A large eat-in, fully equipped kitchen includes dish washer, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. Two living room areas for watching TV or having conversations or reading. Old Bisbee is a lively town with always plenty of things going on throughout the year.

What makes this house unique

The interior and exterior paint colors were chosen by famous painter Rose Johnson, the previous owner. The mosaic floor of a beach scene with the beach, water, sun and stars remains on the bathroom floor. The outdoor display is the original kitchen sink is also another mosaic project by Rose.

Rose's Place

Rose's Place is cute, quaint, and historic…just like Bisbee itself. The house was comfortable, owners were kind and helpful, location was perfect. I highly recommend a stay in Rose's Place.

Rose's Place is a Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was so much fun, the house was perfect! We spent half the time on the porch soaking in the sounds of birds and playing games. Everything is within walking distance so no need to pile in the car. We would definitely stay here again.

From viewing the pictures on the website, we assumed we would have use of the whole house. The bright room with the daybed was locked. We were later told it was their office and not available. Why was the picture shown? We did not feel safe in the property for 2 reasons. We could not get cell service and there was no land line. The parking was on the street and the street was extremely narrow and winding. The space they called a bedroom had only a curtain instead of a wall and door. We had booked 4 nights but we only stayed 1 night. We did get our 3 nights rent refunded.

Funky stay in funky Bisbee

  • 4 of 5

Funky in a good way! Rose's Place is roomy with some great mosaic tiling. Conveniently located with the Mimosa market across the street(try their fresh baked goods) and a few minutes walk to the drinking holes in Brewery Gulch. Easy parking, too(which is not always the case in town). Sue and Stephan are gracious hosts and you may even see them around town. Will stay here again.

Cute, Quirky and just right for Bisbee wanderings

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying at Rose's place so much we asked for another night! Its a really fun space and centrally located so we were able to easily wander about Bisbee. I especially enjoyed its proximity to the great little Mimosa Market and the cute screened in porch. Sue was great to work with and available for any of our questions. Would stay again!

Artsy & Quiet

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay at Rose's Place. Short walk into town. Quiet at night. Spacious one bedroom. My husband and I came for a quiet weekend away, but could easily come back here with our 3 kids and stay in this same spot. Loved being a little off the beaten path. Especially enjoyed our morning walk to the High Desert Cafe for breakfast and our dinner last night at Screaming Banshee Pizza. Sweet little find. Economical and cozy. Bed is super comfortable too.

Old Bisbee is a National Historic Site; a mining town preserved in time by the residents that take pride in their town.

Miles of trails in Old Bisbee that provide unbelievable views of Old Bisbee and the Mule Mountains and surrounding area. Hike the Tower trail as done in the Jeremy's Run.

Visit St. Patrick's Church- listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Gothic Revival church is a copy of St. Mary's Catholic Church in the Irish district of Whitehaven, England. The Queen Mine tour provides a fabulous underground experience inside the original Bisbee copper mine.

Many artists have made Bisbee their home over the years including Rose Johnson, the painter of the Peace Wall mural on Castle Rock, the Jonquil Hotel, and Circle K. Other artisans and painters exhibit their works in the shops and galleries of Main Street. Antique stores are a must for reliving your past or exploring the objects left from days gone by.

Great times are had on weekends in Old Bisbee: Pirate's Weekend, 1000 Stair Climb, Iron Man Stair Climb, B.R.A.T.S,Classic Cars, Coaster Racing, Blues Festival, Pride Weekend, as well as the holidays of Christmas, New Years, Halloween, and 4th of July.
