Beautiful Grade II listed Cottage in the Historic Village of Lelant, St Ives

Bedrooms 2
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

Great accessibility to St Ives town centre and a multitude of beautiful beaches

Beautiful Grade II Listed 1 Rose Cottage is situated in the Historic Village of Lelant, St Ives and an Ideal retreat for small families & couples. Guests will be greeted with a welcome cornish hamper on arrival and for our doggy guests a little welcome treat. Having recently been renovated, the cottage has a quaint traditional feel to it, from the quirky kitchen to the cosy lounge.

Rose Cottage is just minutes’ walk away from the Hayle Estuary a renowned RSPB nature reserve and offers great accessibility to St Ives town centre and a multitude of surrounding golden sandy beaches, including Carbis Bay, Porthminster Beach & Porthmeor Beach.

Porth Kidney Beach is just a 10 minute walk from the cottage, at the mouth of the Hayle Estuary. For those with little doggy guests, in our opinion this is the best dog friendly beach in St Ives throughout the year.

The popular West Cornwall Golf Club with its stunning views of St Ives Bay & Godrevy Lighthouse, is a quarter of a mile away.

For walkers we are on the South West Coastal path which can be followed from the cottage across the golf course and via the sand dunes and cliffs to Carbis Bay and St Ives.

The nearby branch trainline gets you into St Ives in just 10 minutes, stopping at the doorstep of the fabulous Porthminster Beach and offering some breathtaking coastal views along the way.

Historic St Ives is renowned for its cosmopolitan mix of restaurants and cafes, art galleries, beaches and scenery and whether you are simply looking for a week on one of the many beaches or an energetic mix of surfing, golf, walking or diving there is something here for you. Lelant itself offers several eating establishments all within walking distance of Rose Cottage, all offering a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Beautiful cottage in a great location to explore Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

We arrived early in the day and Michelle kindly allowed us to occupy the cottage straight away.

The cottage was warm and welcoming and was spotlessly clean. We received a visit from he housekeeper who gave us Tea, Coffee and milk, which was a nice touch. The cottage is extremely well equipped and appliances and crockery was of a very high quality.

The location of the cottage is fabulous, with the railway station to catch the scenic train to St Ives a few minutes away. The bus stop to St Ives is also a few steps from the property.

Marazion Mousehole and Lands End are all only a short drive from the cottage and we enjoyed good days out, but was always happy to return to our cosy cottage.

The local pub, just a 100 yards from the cottage was friendly and the food was good. For cake and cream tea lovers, the Lakeside Cabin Cafe at nearby Nance Lakes was amazing and the owners were exceptionally friendly.

We had our small dogs with us and was able to enjoy the huge expanse of sand at Porth Kidney beach (dog friendly all year round), and only a short walk from the cottage.

When we return to the area we would love to stay here again and gets a 10/10 from me.

Very enjoyable weekends stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a weekend in February. Beautiful old cottage, warm and cosy and everything had been supplied for the comfort of guests.

Beautifully furnished and accessorised even down to matching crockery.

Lovely modern shower room and brilliant having a parking spot. Very convenient for amenities.

Michelle very contactable and friendly. Loved it. Thank you Michelle.

Beautiful cottage, very homely & cosy

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage, in a perfect location. Local pub 'the badger' was great & food good! Porthkidney beach was stunning & dog friendly. A 10 minute walk away! St ives was a 10 min train ride away which was lovely with great views. The cottage was really home from home, had everything you needed! Even a windbreak for the beach. Is next to a fairly busy road but it really didn't bother us. The owner Michelle was very friendly & accommodating! Will be recommending...

Beautiful cottage in lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

Found cottage after initially driving past it sat nav problems.

From the moment we walked in we felt at home , rose cottage is tastefully decorated with lovely little touches. Spotlessly clean and a lovely smell,

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need .

Great shower and beds are comfortable. The week we had it was stunning weather very hot so it's nice that you can sit out front and have breakfast and have drinks in the evenings. The badger inn a 100 yards down the road is a lovely pub friendly great meals good beer and dog friendly, it has a lovely beer garden, lelant is a lovely village with nice walks down to the saltins railway station. The beach is about a 15 minute stroll and is dog friendly. The train to st Ives is a nice day out very scenic route and , you can take the dog too no problem. All in all we had one of the best relaxing

Holidays we have had and we would throughly recommend this cottage.

And would definitely return in the future.

Thanks Michelle
