Dating from the late 1700s, Les Grands Coudrais was once a working farm. Our 3 cottages have been fully furnished and equipped to a high standard with everything you need to enjoy a holiday which offers something for everyone.
L’Ecurie - formally the stables – is our smallest gite and is ideal for a couple although it can also accommodate a cot. The cosy living area with exposed stone walls and wooden beams has a comfortable sofa and a small dining table with chairs. The practical kitchen area is fully equipped with a gas cooker, fridge, microwave oven, washing machine, toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker and high quality crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchenware. The bedroom area with double bed has an ensuite shower room with a large shower, WC and washbasin. Outside, L’Ecurie has a lovely enclosed garden and a private sun terrace with wooden garden furniture and a barbecue. A gate from the garden leads to the large swimming pool and main grounds which are shared with guests in the other 2 cottages.
Outdoor activities such as horse riding, canoeing and fishing are all nearby and we have bicycles and golf clubs available as well as table tennis, badminton, boules and a children's play area within the grounds.
For history lovers, the area is full of fascinating sights from superb Romanesque churches to the pilgrimage route of Santiago de Compostela which passes close by. Families will adore the Valley of the Monkeys, Futuroscope and the Castle of the Eagles. Or you may just prefer to relax by our large swimming pool and enjoy the 3 acres of gardens surrounded only by the sounds of the countryside and views of corn, wheat and sunflower fields.
We live on the property in the main farmhouse with our 16 year old daughter Amélie. We're always available if you need help with anything, but also discreetly in the background if you don't! We're very proud that many of our guests return year after year and we look forward to welcoming you at Les Grands Coudrais for a very special holiday.
