Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cottage in Gulfport - Sea Glass Cottage

2 Bedroom, 1 Bath with Lovely Sunporch - Walking Distance to Downtown

Our charming second floor cottage has been beautifully renovated and updated. The 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is perfect for 2.

The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has a daybed and pop-up trundle that can accommodate the occasional overnight guests, or older teens.

The kitchen has all new cabinets, countertops, flooring and lighting.

Wood floors in the bedrooms and living spaces have been beautifully refinished. There is central A/C and heat, and new windows in all rooms except the sunporch. There are ceiling fans in every room. The entire space is bright and sunny, with beachy decor throughout.

Outside there is a fenced private patio with a table and chairs for dining, 2 comfortable chairs for lounging, lovely plants and a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer for exclusive guest use in the garage below the unit.

The cottage is situated on the back of our large lot, with views of trees and tropical plantings. We always respect your privacy, but we are close by if you need anything.

We are within easy walking distance to downtown Gulfport with it's amazing restaurants, and funky shops. We are very close to the tennis courts, library, senior center and theater.

About Kim & Peter

We are transplanted New Englanders who discovered Gulfport over 20 years ago. After first vacationing here, then becoming snowbirds for a few years, we made it our permanent home in 2010. We love working on home projects, both inside and out, so there is always something changing here.

Kim & Peter purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Kim & Peter chose St Petersburg Area

We were looking for a unique property with room for guests and spaces for all our hobbies. There are 3 buildings here, a workshop and two homes. The homes were built around 1925 and we have extensively renovated them over the last 5 years. A picture of our home as it looked in 1949 is in the book 'Images of America - Gulfport, Florida'. We love the small-town feel of Gulfport, the friendliness of the people, and the fact that we can walk to just about everything one could need.

Modern, clean, spacious

  • 5 of 5

I was very pleased with my accommodations in Gulfport. Peter and Kim have created a beautiful space that is very clean and very comfortable. Decorated in the fresh pastels of Florida, I found the unit to be even more attractive than the VRBO photos were able to convey. As well, it is easy walking distance to the downtown/restaurants/beach area. The kitchen is very well equipped for a rental and the spacious screened porch was a definite plus. Over all, the unit is good value for the cost.

It was the perfect getaway!

  • 5 of 5

First our thanks to Kim and Pete for providing Gulfport visitors with such a lovely cottage. This was our third year in Gulfport but our first time staying at their property. Their cottage is indeed a home away from home. The cottage as retreat also works due to the quiet, privacy, and comfort that Kim and Pete went above and beyond to make sure their guests enjoy. They were attentive and wanting to know that we had everything we needed or wanted. We had so many spaces to choose from-such as the porch or the patio. Even though we walked everywhere--restaurants, the beach, the library, we were happy just staying at the cottage! Simply put, it was especially hard to leave this year. So thanks again Kim and Pete for being such great hosts. We think that they were even responsible for the great weather we had!

Last minute stay from Chicago

Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is beautifully decorated with a beach theme which gave a relaxed feel. Every bit of it was comfortable and fully equipped. I Especially liked the porch in the mornings. Great location in Gulfport as well. Would highly recommend this property.

Friends from New England

The apartment was as beautiful, or more in fact, than the pictures portray. Tastefully decorated with a beach theme that made us feel we were right down by the water. It was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Loved the privacy yet close enough to people, the marina and beach, downtown with its quaint shops and restaurants. We will be back!

Wonderful Place To Stay

  • 5 of 5

We booked kind of last minute so there was not much available. This rental was probably open due to it being newly renovated and not yet having any reviews. We really lucked out. The pictures didn't impress me too much so I didn't have high expectations. We were so pleasantly surprised. It is situated on the back portion of the owners large lot which was very private and had access from a dirt side road and plenty of room for parking. The surrounding grounds are beautiful with huge trees and vegetation. The rental was on the second floor so it was really light and airy. We didn't have to use the air conditioning much because there was a nice breeze during our stay. Everything was new, including the windows and we could see that the owners spent a great deal of time and effort in renovating and decorating. The floors are a beautiful wood (looks like hickory) and tile and the place is somewhat small but really cute, comfortable, cozy and super clean. The bed is also very comfortable. The kitchen is roomy and had everything we needed for cooking. We had a small gathering of about 15 people on the patio. The owners were so nice and accommodating in allowing us to have the gathering. They even provided an extra table, extra chairs and a cooler for us. The cottage is close to downtown Gulf Port. We didn't walk the 6 or so blocks to downtown but could have. We usually rode our bikes. I would highly recommend this cottage as it will undoubtedly be getting great future reviews.
