Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms, living / dining room, kitchen and bathroom

Impasse des Violettes, MENTON. This two bedroom apartment is the top (second) floor of a traditional “maison Mentonaise”, situated in a quiet courtyard, accessible though a pedestrian alleyway from the Avenue de Sospel. It is located close to central Menton and all local amenities and tourist facilities are close by.

There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining and living room, a main bedroom with double bed and second bedroom with bunk beds. It is unusual to get such a quiet and secluded location so close to Menton town centre, with such convenient transport links. There is a DVD / TV, stereo and wireless internet. There is a computer equipped with Skype available.

The express coach link to Nice Airport stops at the bus stop a minute’s walk away. The beach is less than five minutes. It's the perfect base for exploring the French and Italian Riviera, everything from the glamour of Monte Carlo to the region’s famous gardens and mountain-top medieval villages.

Arrival: Arrival will be managed by our local agent who speaks English, Italian and French.

The place is an great location. Near the train and bus station, near downtown, walking distance from restaurants and supermarket, and 2 minutes walk from the beach. The apartment is old but but is well man tainted, and has everything that you need during you stay. This is the second time we came to the same apartment. The owner is very nice guy.

It is very quiet and well lighted.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointing given 5 star reviews!

On the positive side the flat is clean, well equipped, including WiFi and it is close to train and bus. However ,it is very small & the location is not particularly attractive. The house exterior is extremely run down, something the photographs do not reflect. There is no secure front door to the building and if you have large or heavy bags you will struggle to get them to the top floor. Thankfully Roberta helped me with mine.The bathroom would not suit a larger person as the toilet is very awkwardly placed.

I rented for the month. Roberta the local rep was excellent -very helpful and accommodating.

Menton is a delightful town, with some great restaurants and easy day trips along coast and into mountains. Great cycling cols for the enthusiast too, as my son discovered.

Would I recommend the flat to friends? I doubt it.

could not be better located.

“When buying a property, location is everything. The same goes for renting on the Riviera. This apartment has an EXCELLENT location which will appeal to the discerning traveller. It has all the facilities needed, including wi-fi, a well equipped kitchen and tastefully decorated. Only a few minutes gentle stroll to the beach, or to the old town, it has the further benefit of letting you live with the locals, away from the tourists. Menton is a unique town – great restaurants, friendly French people, and there is plenty to keep you busy. The Apartment is just around the corner from the Railway Station which has frequent services to all the Riviera towns, cities and villages, so it could not be better located. I recommend that you stay here without hesitation if you want to have a great base for your Riviera vacation”

fabulous location, charming appartment

My wife and I spent an extra long weekend here celebrating our wedding anniversary and we simply didn't want to come home! This is a fantastic location for exploring this part of the world, we spent several days driving up into the mountains finding little villages precariously perch on the mountains. I highly recommend a visit to the village of witches, Molini di Triora in Italy to try out their mushrooms and pasta!

The apartment is lovely, charming, cosy, and has everything one needs. We actually cooked for ourselves most nights, not for a lack of good eateries in Menton but more because of the fantastic market right outside the apartment where we picked up delicious fresh veg and fish. The apartment also has wi-fi which is a must these days in my opinion for planning trips and checking things out.

Menton is a great town, plenty of places to eat, shop and chill. We loved just handing out by the sea front, and the water was beautiful, warm and clear. We didn't have enough time to fully explore the town, but that just means we'll have to come back.

Perfect place

I've just spent a great fortnight staying in this very characterful, colorful and authentically French apartment. And being in an area where the real Mentonnais live, as opposed to just tourists, it gives an extra dimension to a holiday. I needed to work while in Menton and the wireless broadband worked perfectly. My early mornings were spent in front of the laptop, then at around 9am headed across the road to the local boulangerie for grand crême and croissant, followed by fruit and vegetable purchases from the daily food market just down the road. A perfect setting with everything at hand including both bus and train transport. I usually look forward to coming home after a couple of weeks away, but this time I could easily have stayed another fortnight. Heartily recommended location and apartment.

Apartment with unique charm

Just enjoyed a really lovely week in this apartment in Menton. Tucked away up a pretty little alleyway, it has a uniquely authentic French charm, unlike many of the "concrete boxes" you get along seafronts these days. It is also well equipped and spotless, and very quiet, being back off the main drag. It's central location is great too, very close to the train station and buses, or if driving, convenient to all the main routes with parking close by. There is also a supermarket right across the road. Five minutes walk takes you to the seafront and old town, with its numerous shops, bars and restaurants.

Menton itself is a very elegant resort, a perfect base for exploring the French Riviera, or indeed into Italy. We hope to return very soon and would highly recommend this property and resort.
