Beautiful, spacious and fully equipped city centre 3 double bedroom mid terraced cottage with beautiful large back garden. Situated near the River Ness, offering a beautiful 5 minute walk into town through old Inverness with truly beautiful views of Inverness Castle and churches along the way. A 5 minute walk from the Caledonian Canal and marina, a 30 second walk from the acclaimed Waterfront Bar/Restaurant and local supermarket, this property is ideally situated for making the most of your visit to Inverness without having to rely on cars or taxis.

The cottage has a small conservatory where you can breakfast and dine whilst enjoying the sounds from the garden wildlife - table with 6 chairs. The well maintained garden has an outside seated area to relax and enjoy a glass of wine whilst having a barbeque. The living room has a wood burner fire for cosy nights in with 50 inch Freeview flat screen TV with Chromecast and also a DVD player. Superfast Wi-Fi is available at no extra cost.

The Waterfront restaurant/bar is a mere 30 second walk away for those wanting to experience good value quality food on the banks of the River Ness, whilst listening to some of the areas best traditional Scottish folk ballad music.

The property has 3 bedrooms, one of which is a children's room which has two single beds. Cots and High Chairs are available at no extra charge but please request in advance. The other two bedrooms have a king sized and double sized beds. All modern appliances available including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, slow cooker, with gas central heating and gas cooking.

No smoking indoors - ashtrays provided in back garden.

My name is Gregor and grew up in the area before moving to Edinburgh and beyond for study and work. I returned to the area in 2010 after tiring of city life. I normally work in health and safety or lifting operations but have previously worked in finance, education among others.

Why Gregor chose Inverness

I love this house because I have transformed it over the last couple of years, which has been a lot of work but also a labour of love. I love its country feel, its country style kitchen looking out onto the mature garden, the living room with its wood burner for relaxing in front of the fire whilst watching movies or simply enjoying a good book and glass of wine. I may be biased and undoubtedly it has been decorated to my tastes, but it has been decorated with comfort in mind, from the sofa, to the beds, to the fire, to the views from the kitchen window to the garden. Even the walk into town is beautiful along the River Ness over the bridge past the Cathedral to the town centre all in under 5 mins.

I love the garden and the birds which are attracted into it.

You can also access the main arterial road routes from here and be outside Inverness on route into the Highlands in under 5 mins. The banks of Loch Ness can be reached in 10 mins by car, the Spa town of Strathpeffer in 20 mins or some of the UK's best golf courses in 30 mins. Some of the Championship courses designed by Tom Morris and James Braid include Royal Dornoch, Brora, Tain, Castle Stuart, Nairn, Nairn Dunbar and Moray - not a bad collection of courses within easy reach for the golfer.

Similarly many of the famous tourist attractions are within easy drive with the Caledonian Canal a mere 5 minute walk away as are most bars and restaurants.

What makes this cottage unique

Its unique benefits are its size, proximity to the town centre, access to the supermarket with a large garden for the children to play in and its closeness to the Caledonian Canal and Waterfront bar and restaurant. It really is ideally situated.

Exceeded expectations; clean, comfortable, luxurious and brilliant location

I stayed at the house with 4 other adults and it definitely exceeded or expectations. The three double bedrooms are all large with plenty of drawers and hanging storage and comfortable beds. The lounge again is a good size with a large flat screen TV and a wood burning stove, there's a good selection of books, games and a dvd player along with the free wifi and smart TV there is plenty to keep you entertained for a cold night in. The kitchen is high end and excellently stocked, all the pots pans, plates you could need and a good oven, toaster and microwave. The owner and previous guests had left loads of non perishables like sauces, spices, cereal, tinned soup, oats and all the cooking and washing up miscellaneous items which saved us quite a bit of money and hassle for a short self catering stay, they even supplied fresh milk, bacon, butter and bread for when we arrived!

The location is great, Aldi supermarket is just over the road, 2 minute walk as is a good Chinese takeaway and there are a few lovely pubs and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. You can also easily walk over the bridge to the city center. There is only on street parking but it's a dead end road and there was always a space outside the house free.

We couldn't have asked for more from our stay, a true bargin.

Amazing host

Absolutely perfect home in a central location, a half block from the riverfront and a half block from the grocery store. Also, not even a half block to a wonderful Gastro Pub. Gregor went above and beyond in many ways but especially by taking an entire day to drive us around and show us sights we wanted to see and he wanted us to experience. It's a well maintained home with everything you could need. I highly recommend this property and hope to go back some day.

Great host, great location!

A perfect place to stay for 4-6 people. Everything in Inverness within walking distance. Gregor is a great host and gave wonderful advice on spots to visit during our onward journey. An extra plus for the fresh flowers in the window and the bottle of Proseco in the fridge.

Lovely home within walking distance of all sites of interests.

Lovely, comfortable home that is well equipped for a family. We enjoyed it's convenient walking distance to the downtown and sites we wished to see. The best bonus was a wonderful, private garden area where you could enjoy the flowers and birds with your coffee in the morning and sit around the fire pit with a glass of wine in the evening.
