Well lit, freshly painted and furnished/stocked, 2 bedroom converted into spacious one bedroom, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances including dishwasher, & clothes washer & dryer. Jacuzzi bath with rain shower, large closet, on private top floor (6 floor walk up). Internet included.
2 minute walk to A/C train, or the 1 train.
Bamboo floors throughout, recessed lighting throughout with dimmers.
As visible in the photo, the bedroom is separate from the rest of the apartment with a corridor, but since it's a loft-like apartment there is no separating door. There is queen bed, two queen air mattresses, and along sofa (with a comfortable long single cushion) to sleep one.
Safe and friendly area, 2 long blocks from the Hudson River. Private and modern yet charming apartment that you'll fall in love with.
I bought this property 10 years ago and did a gut renovation that took 3 years. It was painted again in January 2015 and furnished with high quality furniture, new sheets, towels, and dish/kitchen ware.
You have the pleasure of being on the top floor and surrounded by wonderful neighbors.
This was our first time visiting NYC and this apartment was perfect for us! Clean, cozy, and comfortable with a very warm feel. The location is so convenient. About 5 minute walk to the subway access is a huge plus of this location! Sarah greeted us upon arrival and was extremely welcoming and friendly, not to mention very accessible via text for any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anybody (except the older people considering walking up the stairs to the 6th floor which we didn't mind at all) looking for a place to stay in NYC!
Thank you very much for letting us stay at this place : )
My daughter and I shared Ayele's apartment from August 5-11/16. Unfortunately we did not get to meet Ayele as he was out of town, but Sarah, the property manager took good care of us. When we arrived, we followed the directions that Sarah gave us and had no trouble finding the building. Sarah met us there shortly after we arrived and took us up the 6 floors to #65.
We knew that the apartment was on the 6th floor and that there was no elevator, so we were not surprised. I am in my 60's, so if I can do it, most people probably can . That being said, it was extremely hot and that combined with hauling a suitcase up 6 flights, we were incredibly thankful to enter the air conditioned apartment. The apartment was clean and equipped with almost everything one could want. The only thing that was notably missing was a toaster. Since I have toast or bagels daily, as does my daughter, we really missed it. I would suggest that this is something that you might consider purchasing, Ayele.
Our initial impression of the neighbourhood was less than stellar. There were several homeless people on the way from the subway to the apartment, and many people congregating out on the street. Sarah explained to us that many of the residents in the area do not have air conditioning and therefore hang out on the street where it is slightly cooler. I must say that every person with whom we spoke was friendly and chatty, but none more than the landlord who hangs out on the front stoop. He had his finger on the pulse of the neighbourhood. This neighbourhood is so different from mine, but I liked it. I never really felt unsafe, however one night we had to take the long way around the block to get home. We never found out what it was all about, but we were fine about it.
The first day, the Internet and Apple TV did not work. Sarah took care of it as quickly as possible by purchasing a new modem/router. Communication was good with Sarah. She responded quickly when we needed information and was very helpful.
As far as New York...it is fantastic!! We packed more into our 5 days than seems possible. The following is a list of our shenanigans.
Times Square X2
Broadway Shows X2
Jazz Clubs X3
Empire State Building
Central Park X2
Metropolitan Museum of Art
Radio City Music Hall show
Yankees ball game
Grand Central Station
Statue of Liberty
Not one thing was a dud. Thanks for letting us stay at your place!
The apartment was very nice and had everything you needed (Fridge, washer/dryer, etc). It is a six story walkup, but we knew that when we booked it so it was not any issue.
The one big negative is that there is a lot of street noise.(mostly sirens, trucks, etc) With the two room A/C units allowing noise in, the street noise can pretty bad.
Other than that, the apartment is very close to the "C" and "1" subway trains, and there are a many little restaurants within walking distance.
Nicely renovated, cozy apartment. Pretty convenient location within short walking distance of two subway lines and numerous bus stops. Owner was helpful and quick to respond. Check-in and check-out was very smooth. Pack light though, as you have to manually take your luggage up six flights of stairs (i.e. No elevators). Very pleasant experience overall!
Stayed for 2 weeks location was perfect for us easy access to downtown lots of stores walking distance walked 2 blocks every morning to jog along the river loved it ! Definitely want to stay again :)
Appartement très agréable, bien équipé pour 4 personnes. Il est très bien situé, avec le métro à la porte. Les enfants ont apprécié la baignoire à bulles. Les étages ont été un peu difficiles à monter en fin de séjour.
