Overview

About the property

The house is bright and panoramic was renovated in 2016

Unique, for lovers of art, the house is opposite the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel, a few steps from Castel Sant'Angelo, in the oldest part of central Rome. A study of Roman architects oversaw the redesign in 2016, playing in its own way the "genius loci" Capitoline.

The house is designed for 4/6 people. E 'consists of two large double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and large living room with 2 sofa beds. A wide, panoramic terrace allows you to lunch or dinner overlooking the city.

The house is on the second floor, with elevator, has an area of 90 square meters plus 25 square meters of terrace. The spacious lounge has two comfortable sofas and an ancient "refectory" of 2.9 meters on which to dine, the characteristic solid walnut table where the brothers used their meals in silence.

The house is equipped with air conditioning, tv, dvd player, hi-fi, wi-fi and a fully equipped kitchen, from the washing machine to dishwasher.

Vatican's edge ... we are at the gates of St. Peter! From Piazza Navona to the Pantheon, Campo de 'Fiori at the Colosseum, the Roman Forum Castel Sant'Angelo is all accessible by walking.

The area provides important shopping streets, excellent restaurants and trendy bars. The house is within walking distance to metro and bus stops that will easily connect with all the major tourist destinations of Rome. Besides supermarket and shops, the neighborhood offers a nice local market with fresh products of all kinds.

Excellent apartment just oppsit to Vatican Walls

  • 5 of 5

We did enjoy our stay in this lovely apartment. Perfectly designed and well equipped -and well maintained by the landlords. In a very quite and attractive building/compound. Reliable wi-fi connection and very effective air conditioning in every room. A big balcony with a wonderfull view where you can have your breakfast and dinner/supper/evening chats with your family. Walking distance to Vatican Museum and Basilica and all other major landmarks of the city. Cipro metro station is 10 minutes away but again no need to use metro too much as you can walk thrugh the city by following the Vatican walls and then crossing the river to see the other beauties in the city. Carefour and Tadies markets in 15 min distance. (Tadies is cheaper!). I definitely recommend this flat for your stays in Rome.

And finally: a wonderful person, Adriano, who hosted us in this lovely apartment and his wife who did welcome us with chocalate cake and red-wine. Thank you for your hospitality, Adriano and Christiana!

Adriano and Christine are very accommodating and welcoming, they even baked us cake and left a bottle of wine for our arrival. The apartment was clean and comfortable. All you will need for your stay is there and lovely large balcony for you sit, relax, eat and catch some Sun.

Lovely time in Rome

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely, well equipped apartment with plenty of space. Having been met by Adriano and a gorgeous chocolate cake and strawberries we settled in very quickly. The location is walking distance from St Peter's square but a bit further from the more central areas - we normally walked in during the day or got taxis in the evening. There are usually plenty of taxis travelling up an down Viale Vaticano and they cost around 10 euros. We tried one of the local restaurants which was very nice but spent 2 nights in Piazza Navano and the other night at Ad Hoc as a treat for my wife's birthday - well worth a visit. Took in the majority of the sights and particularly enjoyed the Colosseum. A visit to St Peter's square can be a bit overwhelming at first as you are pounced on by all the people trying to sell you guided tours. These can be a bit hit and miss - we paid for one which wasn't great, the group was too big (44 people) and the guide seemed to rush through everything. St Peter's itself and the Sistine Chapel are, however, amazing. Overall we had a wonderful trip and would love to return again. Thanks to Adriano and Cristina for a lovely apartment.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Vatican's Edge is a great location being very close to the Vatican with a great view out over that part of the city. Adriano and Christina were great hosts helping us with all our arrangements and plans. The apartment was very clean and spacious for two couples. We hope we can make it back there some day. Lovely modern clean property with a superb balcony terrace

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Rome. Apartment was ideally placed for Vatican but a bus ride away from the other main attractions. This had its advantages and disadvantages. Some great shops and restaurants nearby so no need to go into centre to eat. Host very pleasant and thank you for the treats.

Perfect apartment!

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely modern apartment based in the Vatican City. We were a group of 4 girls and enjoyed it greatly. Its a beautiful and spacious apartment and really exceeded our expectations. Lovely balcony to have breakfast on with my friends. Here's some of the main points in short to save you time:

- there's a supermarket 5 minute walk away which is very cheap with gluten free and vegan options

- restaurants are generally quite inexpensive as it's not the main tourist area

- the apartment had great wifi haha

- the apartment was clean

- we were greeted with chocolate cake and strawberries

- there's a 200€ deposit to ensure nothing is broken

- if you stand opposite the apartment on the other side of the road, taxis pass frequently.

- the apartment is 10 min drive from the city center of Rome (by taxi this will be around 10-15 euros)

- public transport is available, but we didn't try due to the taxi being more convenient and we shared the cost

- area doesn't seem overly safe in the evening but we were 4 girls who are young so this is inevitable

- no safe in the apartment

- apartment is very clean and pretty

- there are two doors you have to pass (that need keys) before you can get to the apartment door so even the lack of safe isn't that bad as it's a hard place to get into without key

- the owners are super friendly and can help you to find how to get to places - they also leave many leaflets with guides.

**important note - the Vatican City is a place of modesty, we didn't realise this at first as we thought it only applied inside the attractions, but generally while walking around we realised we were the only people showing above our knees! We weren't dressed inappropriately by our eyes but I think it was the reason for a few stares, so keep that in mind! (We ended up wearing the same outfit of trousers and jumpers for the rest of the trip haha)

Enjoy your stay! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Mostly suited for families and (quiet) groups of friends as there are elderly people in the building who appreciate the quiet.

Adriano & Cristina are lovely people and you won't regret your stay.

Owner's Response: Hi Charlotte, thank you for your nice words. What a pity that you didn't feel safe in the neighbourhood, as it is one of the safest places in Rome, due to the proximity of the Vatican where you find day and night the police, therefore it is very secure! Maybe you felt insecure because, as you said, you were 4 very young girls... Moreover, if you would have gone on foot, like most of our guests, in the other parts of the center, as the flat is in the center within the Aurelian Walls (but Rome has a big center!) you would have felt much more in the center: to get along the traffic of Rome by car let you waste a lot of time.... Thank you for the care you used in our flat. Nice to meet you and see you next time!
