Firstly, we would like to thank you for considering to stay in Sol y Mar, we are always excited to have visitors and really hope we have done all we can to ensure you will have a wonderful stay.
Upon arrival, the property immediately greets you with a traditional Spanish feel with its white washed walls and mature, landscaped gardens. When you enter Sol y Mar you will find a Welcome Guide, rules of the apartment and free Welcome Hamper from us which consists of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, margarine, jam, eggs, orange juice, water and toilet rolls. This will give you time to settle in and take in the surroundings before having to rush off to the shops. Sol y Mar is a two bed, penthouse apartment that has a lovely feel as it is modern and spacious, but maintains a Moorish character that is traditional to this part of Spain. Within the apartment you will find you have all the modern features and appliances you would expect to have for a relaxing holiday. These include free air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, huge selection of international TV channels to include Sky & BT, sports, movies, NETFLIX etc. Smart televisions in each bedroom and front room, kettle, toaster, oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, iron, ironing board, integrated washing machine and tumble dryer and a clothes dryer. Sol y Mar ideally sleeps up to 4 people, but could accommodate 6 as a maximum. One fold up bed is available for free and another can be hired. It is ideal for couples, families or groups of friends. The terrace provides a partial sea view and overlooks the pool and gardens. If you fancy some outside dining then the balcony provides a great atmosphere if you don't feel like going out for a meal in one of the many restaurants in the area. The balcony has a barbecue, lanterns, traditional tiling, mosaic table, benches and loungers. All you need is food, drink and music playing in the background for a great night in. Being a family ourselves we welcome children and have done what we can to ensure everything is as child-friendly as possible i.e. hidden cables where possible, televisions wall mounted etc. For infants we also have a high-chair, baby utensils and a travel cot which again is free of charge! (Just bring your own baby linen). We provide you with free linen and towels (except beach towels) and if you're staying for 2 weeks or more we also provide you with a free weekly linen change, consisting of a change of sheets, pillows, mats and towels. Please note, we do not allow smoking or pets inside the apartment and should you require a cleaner we can arrange this for you at an additional cost of £20 per hour.
Sol y Mar has been built in a traditional style with beautifully maintained gardens, communal swimming pool, children's pool, showers and toilet facilities. The pool is a salt water pool as opposed to chlorine based. This is great news for all guests (especially those with sensitive skin and children) who intend to use the pool during their stay, as it has the following benefits:
A low chlorine content which is less harmful to the skin, hair and bathing costumes. It is also gentle on the eyes, so you can safely open them whilst swimming and has no smell of chlorine.
Facing south-westerly the apartment and grounds are great for when you want to laze around and grab some sun.
It is only a 25 minute drive from the airport.
Between two other famous resorts- 15 minutes drive from Fuengirola and 20 minutes from Marbella.
Just over a 10 minute walk to the local beach, under 10 minutes to the local shops, restaurants, bus stops and taxi rank.
The taxi rank is situated at the bottom of Riviera del Sol, so if you don't feel like walking, a taxi is always near by.
Great transport links, as the road to take you along the Costa del Sol is near the taxi rank.
Between two other very popular beaches (La Cala de Mijas and Calahonda) which can be reached by transport or by walking along the beach board walk or coastal path (just over 10 minutes away from the apartment) which coincidentally is the Number 1 of Things to Do on Trip Advisor in the local area.
A large variety of restaurants in the Riviera del Sol area to cater for all tastes. Three of which are in the top 30 in the whole of Mijas on TripAdvisor.
The Costa del Sol is renowned for its weather and climate. Being in Southern Spain it usually boasts 320 days of sun every year, so whenever you choose to visit it's always a great location to be.
TRANSPORT FROM MALAGA AIRPORT
You can pick up a taxi outside the arrival hall of T3, but you may have to wait around. If you do not want to wait for a taxi, It may be better to pre-book a taxi so a driver can meet you in the arrivals hall. Alternatively, you could get the train from Malaga Airport to Fuengirola station and pick up a taxi or bus from there.
PEACE OF MIND
Our property managers are available 24/7 to look after our apartment and yourself should you have any queries, concerns, an emergency or if you want to book trips. They are based only a few minutes away, so you can be assured we will do all we can to make it a holiday to remember.
The pool is usually closed during the cooler periods of the year (usually from 31st October and reopens Palm Sunday).
Numbers are based on a maximum of 2 guests per bedroom. Extra guests can be accommodated, just ask us to quote you accordingly.
If the amount of people stipulated in the reservation is exceeded in any way, this will result in an immediate expulsion with no right of reimbursement.
You must ensure no damage has occurred during the letting period and that the property has been left in a reasonable condition with all rubbish removed from the property (this is so it can be quickly prepared for the next guests). Claims against the damage deposit will only be made in the event of any damage caused other than normal fair wear and tear and/or if abnormal cleaning/laundry is required.
