Overview

About the property

FULLY RESTORED 12 ROOM FARMHOUSE BUILT IN 1855 for rent. The house has 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, and is located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

With the VAST snowmobile trail system easily accessible from the property and both Jay Peak and Burke Mountain about 20 miles away, this house is the perfect destination for winter enthusiasts. Jay Peak’s indoor water park is also open year round for those who would like a break from winter activities.

Winter is not the only season full of fun and adventurous activities in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. The summer season brings activities like hiking and mountain biking, as well as kayaking, fishing, swimming, and golfing. Hike some of the numerous and beautiful nearby mountains, or bike the Kingdom Trails system in the Burke area. Kayak, fish, or swim in Lake Memphremagog, Crystal Lake, or Lake Willoughby. All are nearby. You can also fish the Black River from the back yard. Not far away, Jay Peak Resort is home to an 18-hole championship golf course, in addition to an ice arena, tram rides, and as previously mentioned, an indoor waterpark.

There are many restaurants nearby, and the house is just a short distance from the Newport area. The house is also on a well-traveled road just 5 miles from I-91, so roads are well taken care of in the winter. It is just over 3 hours from Boston, under 6 hours from New York City, and 2 hours from Montreal.

A Lovely Home Away from Home!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled from Alaska for a family reunion and the house truly felt like a home away from home. It was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Each bedroom was equipped with an air conditioner -- which we greatly appreciated! We enjoyed breakfast on the back deck, as well as sitting out under the stars in the evening. Glenn and Helen were very helpful and being a first time VRBO user, I was very impressed with how smoothly the rental process went.

The only recommendation I would make would be to put screen doors on the front and back doors as the kitchen and dinning room were very warm, especially when cooking and it would be nice to let a breeze flow through.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay! We would definitely rent this house again and would recommend it to others who are looking for a home away from home!

This was fantastic!

The house is very inviting, we had our softball team stay and everyone was very impressed with the overall visit. The house is roomy and beautiful. Nicely decorated rooms, great amenities and backyard. We are hoping to stay again. Glenn and Helen are very accommodating and have the place perfectly set up.

Thanks again!

Rhonda

So lovely and welcoming.

  • 5 of 5

We recently had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful Farmhouse. I wish we had had more days there. Spending time with family in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont for a beautiful wedding and this Farmhouse made coming home in the evening a relaxing and inviting place to be. The inside is gorgeous and there were so many extras there at the house that you wouldn't expect for a rental to have. The beds were in great shape plenty of Linens extra pillows extra blankets. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a rental to stay at this lovely home.
