About Michael

My Wife and I are two Arizona natives that wanted a second home in the pines to take our two kids when the Phoenix temperatures crawl north of 100 degrees.

Michael purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Michael chose Rancho Vista Hills

We searched and searched for the perfect cabin location and fell in love with the beautiful downtown Prescott that was only a few minutes from the cabin in the pines.

Lovely cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great weekend stay at the cabin!! The house was very nice and comfortable. It had everything we needed (except wifi) but we just used our phones. I know this sounds weird but I really appreciated the quality of the pots & pans (most places have old cheap kitchen items) but not here. They take very good care of the home and in turn made us feel welcome and at home too. The new patio furniture was very comfortable and we took full advantage of the fire pit in the evenings. Location was perfect...a few minutes from the center of town but tucked away in a very quite wooded area. I will definitely recommend staying here to all my family/friends.

This Past Weekend we had a Girls Weekend in Prescott. 7 of us Women stayed and we had plenty of room. One sleep on the Couch and said it was very comfortable. The Cabin is updated and nicely decorated, open floor plan, and in a nice area - very close to downtown. We were all very impressed by the amount of extra pillows, throw blankets, candles & kitchen supplies in the Cabin. Saw Deer every day we were there. The Owner, Michael, was very pleasant to talk to. HAD A GREAT TIME & FELT VERY COMFORTABLE AT THIS CABIN! K Bodnar

Beautifully appointed cabin in the tall pines!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over Labor Day weekend and were pleasantly surprised with how well situated and how appointed this home is. Minutes to downtown Prescott but far enough away to be in the tall pines. The home is near beautiful walking trails and the Hassayampa golf club. We will definitely stay again, absolutely lovely!!

There were a number of problems we had to deal with last week.

  • 1 of 5

1. The thermostat was preprogram to go to 78 every few hours. This was a problem mainly during the night when someone had to get up and reset the thermostat. 2. The table on the deck was unsafe to use. It had nails coming out of the boards and the board themselves were separating with sharp edges that could have cut someone. The benches for the table also had nails coming out of them. The was the only deck furniture. A chair on the deck would have been nice. 3. The dishwasher drawer dropped every time it was used and my wife had to be very careful with it. The owner stated it was going to be replaced. 4. The trash drawer was also broken and we left the waste basket out during the week rather then work with the drawer. 5. The direct tv was shut off because the bill had not been paid. 6. The lighting is very poor through the house. The is not a comfort place to sit and read a book in this house. 7. The sofa and chair are not very comfortable.

Overall we felt we did not get what we expected and not what we paid for.

My said it best when she said this house is here but it does not say welcome come on it.

This was our first and probably lase experience with home away. I would have gotten a better value staying in a hotel.

Owner's Response: I would encourage any reader to review all the other posts of 4 and 5 star reviews. After 3 years of renting our cabin that we take great pride in sharing with guests, it is always hard to read a posting such as this. We were aware that the dishwasher was functional but the top rack would come off the hinges. This was communicated to the guest and we are having the dishwasher replaced this week. I will agree that it would be nice to have more seating on the wrap around deck but that could have been communicated without a 1 star review. In regards to the direct TV, the guest called and let us know. We immediately called the provider to find out an old credit card was on file and had the cable back on within minuets. A new card is on file so this will never happen again. In regards to the guests other comments, this is the first we have ever heard of these items. We have had dozens of guests including family, friends and ourselves and these remaining items have never been an issue. I would agree with his last comment, that he is a first time user of VRBO and in the future he should stay at a hotel. Thank you for taking the time to read our response and in the meantime we will be disputing this review to have it removed.

Terrific house with lots of room.

Would it be possible to put a different picnic table on the deck? The one that is there presently is not able to be used due to exposed nail heads and weathered surface of the table and benches. The deck is so beautiful that an upgrade to the seating and dining option our there would add to its lovely appeal.
