Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, sleeps 5, separate kitchen and living room

A beautiful flat in the heart of historic and fashionable Hampstead Village, a neighbourhood associated with many artists, writers and celebrities. The flat is on the first floor up one flight of communal stairs, above a shop in a landmark period building with two other apartments in the building. The flat has beautiful, original fireplaces and wooden floors in the living areas, while the two bedrooms are carpeted. The master bedroom has a double bed and a closet. The second bedroom has two single beds, and one can be stored under the other if only one is needed. Please note that if both beds are used, they take up most of the space in the room and there is currently no storage. The large living room has a double sofa bed which expands the sleeping options.

The look of flat is modern, uncluttered and stylish. There are two comfortable sofas (one of which is also the sofa-bed) and leather chair in the spacious living room, and TV. The kitchen has a dining table and seating for six. It is fully fitted and well equipped with everything you might need to cook during your stay, and both regular and microwave ovens and a dishwasher. A washing machine/tumble dryer is also available in the flat for your use, as is high speed wi-fi internet. All bed linens and towels are provided.

The flat has wooden floors and large sash windows giving it lots of light and a great view onto the charming buzzy Hampstead High Street with its up-market shops, restaurants, patisseries and pubs. The view through the front windows onto the High Street is excellent for people watching! This is a very safe neighbourhood and the flat is one minute's walk to Hampstead Underground station from where you can be in Camden Town in under 10 minutes, and central London's West End in around 15-20 minutes. There are also bus connections right outside your front door to St Paul's in the City (the financial district). It is less than 10 minutes' walk from beautiful Hampstead Heath, London's largest wild open green space for fantastic walks, bathing in natural ponds (open all year round for the very brave) or an open air swimming pool at Parliament Hill, and breathtaking views across London. Hampstead is a very upmarket and select part of London which manages to be both villagey and charming, but at the same time cosmopolitan and trendy. If you want to step out of the front door into the heart of Hampstead and all it has to offer, then you really cannot better this location and flat.

I live nearby and am always on hand for any problems that I can help with or local advice I can offer. I can also arrange a driver to bring you to and from your airport, mid-stay cleaning, and babysitting with an excellent babysitter, all payable locally.

I am happy to be flexible about check in and check out times, wherever possible, if there is no other booking that day. Late check-ins -after 9pm during the week, and after 7pm at weekends (Friday - Sunday) - will be subject to a small additional fee. Please let me know at the time of booking if you plan to check in late.

Please note, the flat does not have a parking space, and parking long-term is problematic in Hampstead. We do not recommend you rent a car during your stay here - but a number of local driveways are rented privately on a daily basis and I can provide details if needed.

Perfectly located, stylish and well-appointed flat

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our three night stay in Gabrielle's flat, which is in a perfect location right in the heart of lovely Hampstead village and a short hop to the tube station with easy and quick access into central London. The flat is quiet, lovely and light, and simply but stylishly decorated (e.g. Habitat/Heals furnishings). It is very well-equipped and perfectly comfortable for our family of four. The second (twin) bedroom is a bit of a squash for two older children or adults when the truckle bed is pulled out - as the description says, the beds fill up most of the room. So we used the sofa bed in the lounge, which was very easy to put up and down each day and worked fine for us. Gabrielle was lovely to deal with and very responsive and helpful. We loved staying in Hampstead and pottering around the charming streets, shops and Heath, and eating out in great local pubs (highly recommend The Wells, The Flask and the Holly Bush). We cannot recommend the flat highly enough - its a real gem and very good value for money. Thanks Gabrielle, I'm sure we will return!

Cute apartment in Hampstead Heath

  • 4 of 5

Gabrielle is a very friendly and gracious hostess. My favorite parts of the apartment were the spacious living room and kitchen. The village has everything you could possibly need (Tesco Express, cafes/pubs, post office), and the tube station is less than five minutes down the street. The apartment is up two short flights of stairs. The only minor things I want to mention are the bathroom is kind of small (if multiple people are traveling together), the shower water pressure isn't very strong, and the television's maximum volume isn't very loud. These things aren't a big deal, but they are worth mentioning. Make sure to walk to the park. It's the best part of the neighborhood.

Tasteful, clean & roomy apartment in great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was tasteful, clean & had a spacious living room. The bathtub was luxuriously large. We were very pleased with these accommodations! Gabrielle kindly left us a good bottle of wine & shortbread, both of which were delicious & consumed on our first night stay. The recommendations Gabrielle had in a notebook were vey helpful re: restaurants & things to do in the neighborhood!! Many thanks Gabrielle.

Very well equipped flat steps away from tube

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic flat! Gabrielle, the owner, is very kind and went above and beyond ensuring our stay was comfortable. This was the best equipped VRBO I have every stayed in. Any and all appliances, toiletries, etc you could possibly need are here. About a 30 second walk from Hampstead tube station allows for very convenient travel. Location itself quite nice too, steps away from a Tesco express and plenty of good restaurants and pubs. Quiet at night. If only all VRBOs were this good! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Absolutely fabulous stay in a great village.

  • 5 of 5

This spacious and spotless apartment does not disappoint from the moment you enter. Comfortable lounges with lovely views across to the period buildings. Gabrielle is a charming and helpful hostess who made us feel very welcome. Generously stocked with both cooking condiments, and bathroom products, this place saves the tourist the trouble of stocking up on surplus travel items. Surprisingly quiet with the double glazing on all windows and the bedrooms out the back are a real bonus. Neighbours were quiet and needless to say, good restaurants and cafes abound. This place is a real treat and we highly recommend it.
