Typical Sardinian Houses with garden - 16 km from best beaches

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,184 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Two Ancient “stazzo” restored in 2011, surrounded by 20.000 m2 of wild nature.

The "stazzo" was the traditional house of shepherds in NE Sardinia, buiIt with local materials (granite stones, cane roof and juniper wood).

Here you’ll find two stazzo sharing the same, huge garden, 20.000 m2 of wild nature!

The large house is a charming, stone-built cottage of 100 m2, restored in 2011. There are a large dining/living room with open fireplace, a large and well-equipped kitchen with an ancient stove, 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom and 2 bathrooms.

Outside there are two verandas with a nice view on the countryside.

The smaller house, restored in 2015, is a stone-built cottage as well, with one dining/living room with a wood stove, a kitchenette, 1 double bedroom and 1 bathroom. Outside a nice veranda.

Both stazzo are strategically located in the countryside, at 16 km only from Rena Majore beach. Vignola, Palau, Santa Teresa and impressing Capo Testa are just a bit further away (30 mins). Maddalena National Park is also at 30 min drive.

They are perfect for nature enthusiasts, either large families or groups of friends.

About Marzia Sacchi

I work as a headmaster in a school close to Milan. I have 3 grown up children and one of them decided to come and live in Sardinia in 2015. The all family has always been in love with this island, where I used to come since the 80's.

It's a special place and it's fantastic all year round. My favorite season is Spring, when there are lots of flowers and you can smell the Nature

Marzia Sacchi purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Marzia Sacchi chose Luogosanto

It's a magic place! Very nice and quiet, with a large wild garden all around. I like to have breakfast outside -under the veranda- and lay down in the garden, enjoying peace and silence, when I'm too lazy to go to the beach. The house has been restored in 2011 and it's very comfortable and suitable for families. Kids can play in the garden and pick figs directly from the trees in August!

What makes this cottage unique

I liked this place because there were two original stazzos close to each other. The main/bigger one was restored around 2010 and the small one (just for 2 people) was finished in 2015. It's a perfect place for large families or couples of friends (the 2 houses can host 7 people togheter!). It's a very peaceful place with a nice view on the surrounding countryside.

Wonderful Place for Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to Relax. Lovely Stazzu with everything you need :-)

Lovely interior, spacious, well appointed and comfortable but the outside was untidy

  • 3 of 5

We were surprised by our first impression of the outside of the property . It was untidy and let it down, The main problem was overgrown weeds at the back and front . Also the lack of relaxing garden furniture . Although there was an alfresco dinning area there was no where to to sunbathe in comfort to enjoy the glorious weather

The house is located 4 km from the village of Luogosanto, a traditional sardinian village, with very friendly inhabitants. The surrounding area, of unspoilt nature, is dotted with many tiny country churches (the name of the village, Luogosanto -Holy Place- come from here), archaelogical sites and the most ancient olive trees in Europe (4000 years old)! A few kilometers away, direction Tempio Pausania, there are fantastic cork forests and the famous cork museum of Calangianus.

The sea is the real attraction of Sardinia and it's among the most beautiful and transparent in all the world. You can easily reach beaches on the northwest and northeast side of the island and choose whatever you prefer, either the wildest Monte Russu and Lu Litarroni or the wind-surf paradise of Porto Pollo; the wind-sculpted peninsula of Capo Testa or the Maddalena National Park.

I completely agree with D.H. Lawrence when he wrote, in his famous book 'The Sea and Sardinia' that "Sardinia is a land like no other".
