Fabulous villa, lovely village and very well placed for trips into Bordeaux.

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much for our stay at your lovely villa. The house itself is spotless and beautifully decorated with everything that you could need. The pool and gardens are stunning, the photos don't do it justice. The villa is conveniently placed for a two minute walk into the small village for the bakery or for dinner, or for a trip into Bordeaux (less than 15 euros in a taxi - we had no problems getting an uber).

Thank you Patrick for the wine recommendations - much appreciated, and for both of your hospitality over the week. It was lovely to meet you both. We hope to return very soon.

Exactly what we were looking for - had a great weekend

  • 5 of 5

The property is spacious, clean and authentic - we stayed in the winter and the house was lovely and warm ... in the summer the outside space would be fantastic.

Outstanding property with wow factor

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely gorgeous property nestled in the hills across the river from Bordeaux (10-15 minute drive). We were a party of four adults and two children (7 and 4). There are four double bedrooms with a huge master bedroom and ensuite. Interior is decked out with traditional furnishings and objects - the pots, wrought iron accessories and other paraphernalia are charming without being cluttered. Double height living room is great and large larder for food and drink. A snug/study room is a bonus and a nice space to read/relax. There is a large pool but we did not use this due to time of year. Large garden area for our boys to run around though.

Bouliac itself has a n attractive church looking forward out over the city. There is a pizzeria and a brassierie (excellent) the latter of which is attached to the Michelin star restaurant further up the road (£££). There is a boulangerie but we found this to be disappointing. Auchan hypermarket is 5-10 min drive away.

We had two cars and it is well situated to get on the motorway to St Emilion, Brantome, Bergerac etc. There is a bus stop just outside the property but we did not use this.

Hosts were excellent and responsive. Despite living in the adjacent property we only saw them on the first and last day.

Beautiful and spacious home from home

  • 5 of 5

The property was exactly as described (perhaps even better). Patrick was very pleasant and always available to offer advice and guidance about the local area.

Bordeaux is only 10 mins away by either taxi or bus for those who don't fancy dicing with the city traffic.

Bouliac itself is a very quiet village with a choice of 3 restaurants catering for a variety of tastes and budgets. Don't under-estimate the simple pizzeria, it was absolutely fabulous.

All in all, a great holiday. Thank you.
