Trevose View Holiday Lodge is a detached, privately owned self-catering holiday home, situated in the peaceful holiday village at St Merryn, near Padstow. The lodge is tucked away in the corner of a quiet cul-de-sac and enjoys open views of the headland and horizon at Trevose Head from the kitchen and dining room. The accommodation offers a generous open-plan lounge/dining room and kitchen area - ideal for holiday living.The kitchen has a dual aspect and is exceptionally well kitted out with a washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and microwave in fact all the everyday kitchen equipment you would need (I don't do basic - 6 of everything!) french doors from the dining area lead out onto the private patio. Trevose View is furnished and fitted out as my own personal holiday home rather than a "holiday let". The lounge has a leather reclining sofa and two comfortable chairs, fireplace and TV/DVD with a collection of family friendly films. There are three bedrooms - the master with an en-suite, walk in wardrobe and dressing table with mirror and TV/DVD. The guest double has a wardrobe with dressing table and mirror, and another small double with twin beds which also has a wardrobe and bedside cabinets (I provide pillows and duvets but guests will need to bring their own linen and towels). Down the hall is a large family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Everything is maintained to the highest possible standard. Outside there is an enclosed and secure garden perfect for families with children, with garden furniture and parasol perfect for dining Al Fresco. I also have a BBQ (great for those summer days). At the front of the property is a large double driveway with ample parking space for two cars. Trevose View is ideally situated to explore all that Cornwall offers - close by there are wonderful beaches, Padstow, the Camel Trail and much more - if you want to go further access back onto the A30 or A39 is quick and easy which makes days out to the South coast or further west completely possible.

I fell in love with Trevose View the moment I saw the lodge with its lovely views. The sunrise and sunset over Trevose Headland which never ceases to lift my spirits and the morning sunlight flooding the lounge and kitchen on a summers day. I have always been enthralled with stories of smuggling,shipwrecks and piracy and the rugged beauty of this county, so it seemed only natural to own my own little piece of Cornwall.

Trevose view had all the amenities you could wish for and more. Ideal location for visiting all of Cornwall. The shop on site was very useful for your essentials. The house had everything that you could think of from condiments to cling film for packed lunches. The shed was a treasure trove with a BBQ, tennis rackets, boules, windbreakers and chairs that you can take to the beach. Lovely patio area too for sitting outside. Also, you're only 2 miles from Rick Steins pub, The Cornish Arms, lovely food at pub prices. Lots of lovely bays within a 5 minute drive. Would definitely recommend this property.

Cracking place to stay!

Usually, when you book a property, the photographs make it look much better than it actually is. Not in this case! This home (and it most certainly is a home!) is beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. The attention to detail is evident and you can see that the owner is not prepared to let out a second rate property. The facilities are as described, and although the Cornish weather didn't allow us al fresco dining, there is a good sized patio and patio furniture. Inside, there is a good sized TV in the living room plus DVD player AND a varied selection of DVDs to watch. You can cook in this kitchen as it is extremely well-equipped with most things you would have at home

The property was easy to find and there was off road parking. There is a small shop on site with about a 200m level walk. For a larger shop, St. Merryn is within 1.5 miles with Barney's Bakery or there are larger supermarkets in Padstow and Wadebridge.

The beaches are superb...even in the winter months if you wrap up warmly! Although you'll have to drive to the beach, parking is reasonable if you stay all day.

If you want to visit Cornwall and stay in a home from home, then I have no hesitation in recommending this property. I'm looking forward to staying again later in the year!

St Merryn Holiday Park is ideally situated for visiting Seven Bays in Seven Days which boast wonderful soft golden sands and rock pools and the beautiful North Cornwall Coast, two miles away is the village of St Merryn with its Spar grocery shop,post office, local bakery and petrol station. Another 2 miles further on brings you to Padstow a working harbour that also has daily speed boat trips and fishing trips with a regular ferry service across the Camel estuary to Rock. Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant has established a national reputation for imaginative cooking using the freshest fish available, but there are also many other restaurants and bistros for a wonderful choice for eating out. Other attractions in Padstow include the National Lobster Hatchery and Prideaux Place - an Elizabethan House filled with royal treasures.The Camel Trail on the edge of the Camel Estuary is a premier cycling route, Cycles can be hired from Padstow and Wadebridge cycle hire. The nearest town is Wadebridge - and offers great shops and cafes to browse or why not visit the city of Truro - a beautiful cathedral city with Hall for Cornwall and the many other attractions on offer in the holiday season.The busier resorts of Newquay and Perranporth are close by with all they offer, Surfing, cycling, walking and golf are all things to be found locally as well as Crealy Adventure Park and Old Macdonald's Farm which are even closer for the younger children. Anywhere in Cornwall is close enough for a day trip including Land's End, The Eden Project, The Minack Theatre, - access back onto the A39 and A30 makes travelling to any Cornish destination an easy trip.
