Guestbook comments from the owner

Well appointed 3 bed / 3 floor house with cool top floor ensuite room that enjoys great views. The house is in quiet and safe area where roadside parking was always available. The house is very clean and has everything you will need to prepare meals etc etc, a small convenience store is about 30 yards away however all other pub / restaurant / stores are a drive away. We were met by the cleaner who was very nice and friendly giving us a guided tour and some local info.

Hello Simon, I just wanted to let you know we had a great vacation. the house was just the right size for the 5 of us. I do want to mention that the hot water kept shutting itself off everyday and we had to hit the button. I was wondering if your cleaning person found a SIM card for a camera. It very small square disk about a half an inch big.

The worst place we have stayed in

  • 1 of 5

Old, mismatched living room furniture some which had been broken and patched up. Unhygienic Kitchen, probably constructed in the 1970s and has not had attention since (apart from the good white goods). Bucket for the rubbish, laminate peeling off units, dust on windowsills, dirty carpets. Attic bedroom had no heating for 4 days out of 7 and only then after we had complained 3 times. We have submitted a longer list of problems we encountered, some of which relate to safety issues. A ruined Christmas.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our Maidenhead house. We take complaints seriously and are keen to have happy guests who enjoy their stay in our beloved house. Most of our guests are very content with their stay. Our house is a traditional Victorian house with traditional quality furniture of various ages, this is the style we have chosen for our house. We wish you had raised your points when you were still in the house so we could have addressed them. We feel that most of the points raised by you are not an accurate description of the condition of our property but nevertheless we still appreciate your feedback. As you know we did call in an emergency plumber over Christmas to sort out the radiator but the process was delayed by your subsequent opposing complaint that the house was also too warm... And if you had told us anything else during your stay we would have done everything in our power to ensure your stay was comfortable! Nevertheless we are happy to hear that you liked our 3 good-sized bedrooms with comfortable beds and high quality bedding and towels. And that you found our kitchen well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery and new kitchen appliances. And that you enjoyed our high speed internet and our newly upgraded hot water system ensures a great supply and pressure of hot water in both bathrooms and all taps. Once again, thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we will take onboard your feedback to improve our house further for future guests.

The photos were accurate and the neighborhood was clean and safe. The little store on the corner was very convenient. Definitely recommend.
