Great spot in central Lisbon
We recently stayed at this property as 4 adults. It is really well located for many of the attractions in central Lisbon. Very close to the Aeroporto bus drop off and there is a pick up just down the street. Rossio square is a 5 minute walk away to get the subway or Hop on Hop off buses. The property is clean and very functional with comfortable beds. Helen the property manager was there to meet us with keys and show us the property and give us tips for the local neighbourhood. We were able to buy groceries at a grocery store about 5 mins walk away near Rossio square. It was my first time to Lisbon and we really enjoyed the history , some great food and the friendliness of everyone we met. Overall no complaints and no hesitation in recommending this property.
It was great to host Brian and his group. Everything went well and we enjoyed the hosting experience
Great apartment, very clean and as far as location - you can’t do better
Lovely apartment and very clean. Location is perfect.
Amazing location!! Apt had everything we could need.
Property manager was there to meet us and walk us through all the information and suggested local restaurants for our first night in town. Property very walkable! We had a wonderful time and would def. stay at this property for our return trip.
Great location - great choice!
It was our first visit to Lisbon and we wanted : a central location, some type of outside space, top floor, elevator, washer/dryer...etc. this ticked all those boxes for us. Good grocery store just around the corner as well with all the basics you’ll need.
There’s two bedrooms - we (2 of us) chose the front one which had twins nestled together and mattresses that felt a bit more comfortable - good comfy duvets too. Pillows were one thing I’d improve on they’re a bit stiff...With the provided fan and a/c any street noise was alleviated - the wooden shutters are a plus too against early morning light.
The fridge is face level so no stooping down every time you want something as in many other European kitchens - the stove top has Both Gas and Electric- very cool and very convenient. If you have a Netflix account that’s a big plus as the living room tv has just about 3-4 English language channels (news)...
Manager is very good and clear and concise and prompt in returning questions - they arranged for a ride to meet us at airport and Helene was waiting at apt to go over the basics and the keys- they even get you started with a laundry packet for the washer and a couple for the dishwasher - good idea to pack a couple of each extra if you’re here more than a couple few days. The bathroom is nice and hot water is plentiful too. We’ve done Home Away in many other cities and this is one I’d book again on returning to Lisbon - there’s even a Paul bakery outlet around the corner for good breads, croissants etc. the management team and the apartment itself made our first visit easier and more relaxed. You’re in the Baixa with close proximity to Alfama and other neighborhoods so you’ll have some street noise - it adds to the charm and quiets down pretty early too.
Wonderful apartment in the center of Lisbon!
We were staying in this apartment with two kids for 4 days - it was very clean, comfortable, nice location, easy access to everything - amazing view from a balcony. We were able to cook our own food, since apartment was well stocked with kitchen paraphernalia. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a place to stay in Lisbon, especially with kids.
Our holiday apartment is in close proximity of all key historic sights in Lisbon. This vacation rental will enable you to discover the city on foot- the historic Moorish Castle and Alfama are 10 min away and offer striking view points of the city (make sure you stop by the beautiful church of Se and miradouro da Graça); Praça do Comercio/Praça Figueira/ Rossio are within 3-5 min; Bairro Alto within 10-15min on foot.
The iconic n28 tram is 2 blocks away and is a fun way to discover the seven hills of Lisboa - from Baixa to the neighborhood of Graça or climb to cosmopolitan Chiado, and proceed to beautiful Basilica da Estrela.
Our vacation apartment Prata is one street away from the main pedestrian area of Baixa, rua do Ouro with a large variety of restaurants, shops and interesting cafes. One of the great dames of Portuguese theater is in Rossio (Praca D. Pedro V), with striking architecture. In Rossio you will also find a beautiful train station, which is the gateway to the village of Sintra. Praça do Comercio offers the delightfully serene Cais das Colunas by the River Tejo, where you can contemplate the city and let your mind wonder and take you to the heyday of the Portuguese Empire- in this very same plaza there used to stand the Royal Palace and a lot of the goods from the colonies were brought to shore and traded. You can also take the Elevador de Santa Justa (built by the Eiffel) to visit the ruins of the Convento do Carmo, a reminder of the Earthquake and tsunami of 1755.
Transportation- 3 subway/tube stations within 5 min, train to beaches/ fishing village of Cascais within 15min on foot (c. Sodre), train to delightful Sintra within 5 min (Rossio) and cross Tagus/Tejo boats within 5 min. Direct airport transfer bus stops 1 block away.
If you feel like jogging, try the river front and head west- there is a track that starts at Cais do Sodre and takes you through the harbor till you pass the bridge and continue on to Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Torre de Belém and eventually to Algés.
Night out: head out to Alfama on foot and enjoy lively bars and live Fado performances. If you prefer Bairro Alto, a multitude of bars, restaurants and theaters will satisfy every taste. Here you can find an eclectic mix of restaurants, frequented by locals and tourists alike. Interesting choices are the upscale restaurante Largo with its mesmerizing Medusa filled tanks, next to Teatro São Carlos, the perennial favorite - Sinal Vermelho in rua Diário de Noticias for traditional Portuguese cuisine, and Seame in Chiado for great fish.
For clubs, there are quite a few choices- try Lux by the train station of Santa Apolónia, Trumps the gay mixed club in Principe Real or the clubs/ bars in Santos and Alcântara.
There is plenty of shopping in Baixa, and a small shopping center in Armazéns do Chiado- where you can find more casual fast dinning.
You can also reach the new neighborhood of Parque das Nações using the Metro/tube/subaway- fast and inexpensive. There you will find a large shopping mall- Vasco da Gama, with multiple choices for shopping, eating and cinemas, and the famous Oceanario and the grounds of the Expo 98, which Lisboa hosted. It is a delightful garden on the river side, with different areas and exotic plants. Restaurants and cafes are very abundant in this area.
If you fancy a day at the beach, you can easily head to Estoril and Cascais and enjoy the Atlantic there. If you prefer less urban beaches, you can head out to Costa da Caparica (a rental car is useful, but you can also reach it by public transportation). In Costa you have large expanses of uninterrupted beach in a gorgeous landscape
