About this property

This beautiful property is located in a quite cul de sac overlooking the La Marquesa golf course. It contains two bedrooms, one with Queensize and one with two full size single beds. There is a lounge and dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including electric 4 plate hob,convection/microwave oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. The Villa has airconditioning/heating and fans in all rooms.

Note: Electricity and water costs are included in rental charges.
There are two large swimming pools for the exclusive use of the residents. There are eight restaurants and bars within a five minute walk of the villa. There is also a supermarket. in this area. There are further restaurants and bars on the opposite side of the golf course, less than ten minutes walk.

The Segura river flows through the local Spanish town of Rojales, just 20 minutes walk away. It too has nice restaurants, including traditional Spanish restaurants. There is a small, but interesting museum and Rojales is also home to some very interesting cave dwellings which are still occupied. The beautiful beaches at Guardamar are a ten minute drive away from La Marquesa. Buses to Guardamar, Alicante and many other towns and cities are available from Rojales.

Quiet resort, great views, close to amenities.

Lovely apartment- had everything you could possibly need. Close to supermarket, bars and restaurants (5 minute walk) although a car would probably be needed if you wanted to go elsewhere. It was about a 30 minute walk to Rojales (I think!!) and a 40 minute walk to Quesada, although we didn’t attempt this due to the heatwave and the fact we were told we would need to walk up ‘cardiac hill’!! The swimming pool was a 1 minute walk from the apartment which was lovely. The first week, we had this to ourselves and the second week, there were a few more people around but it was never over busy and there was always room in the pool for us! The apartment had air-con and ceiling fans which were an absolute god send during the heatwave! There was loads of outdoor space (including a roof terrace) - ideal for sun worshippers. Sun loungers and chairs provided. Although there’s a road outside the apartment, it wasn’t too busy. There wasn’t much noise from cars or people. Great communication from Mary who responded very quickly to all our questions, both before and after booking. Would definitely re-book this apartment if we went to this part of Spain again.

Dissapointing stay

Booking process was ok, the host had prompt communication. Location was good; close to some shops, restaurants and a 20min walk to the town. However, for further trips a taxi or car is needed. The property was disappointing. Layout was fine but the standard of facilities was not good. Kitchen and bathroom were very old and in desperate need of complete refitting. All cutlery, pots and pans were dirty and had to be washed before use, old and in poor condition, so we did not make use of the kitchen as planned which cost us more to eat out. All bed linen and towels had permanent stains, red and brown spots and a cigarette burn hole in pillows. We had to spend our first day washing them all as we did not feel comfortable to use them. The stains did not come out so they must be permanent and need to be replaced. We got bites every night, we thought these were mosquitos but when we got back home our GP confirmed they were bed bug bites. Very concerning as we had a young child with us who is covered in bites. This would also explain some of the staining on the sheets. There was staining on the sofas and pillows also. It is obvious the host has spent no money or time maintaining the property to a reasonable standard. A bit shocked that they were providing dirty facilities, towels and linen, then charging for extra beach towels, also with permanent stains. In our opinion the property not as advertised, overpriced and needs to be fixed up. Would visit Rojales again but not stay here

The villa is ideally located for the local bars and restaurants. The local golf course is right opposite the villa. There is plenty of outside space to enjoy the wonderful weather

Why they chose this property

Ia think my property is unique because, whilst being in a quiet area, it is within easy reach of lots of amenities including water parks, go-carting tracks, a beautiful beach and a village with unique features, including cave dwellings and a castillated house completely clad in sea shells.. You can hire bikes locally and there are many walking, cycling and bird-watching clubs who will welcome you. Fishing is also a popular pastime.

What makes this property unique

You will have a key box entry but, should you require assistance you can call me on whatsApp at any time, and this will be provided as quickly as possible. Also, should you need groceries before you arrive, we will get these for you. All grocery shops in the area close on Sunday's.
