The Bothy provides a unique and private location within the walls of Warslow Hall. The grounds provide outstanding walks via meandering paths and both formal and rustic bridges. that captivate the natural beauty of the woodlands and ponds that are connected by a series of cascading waterfalls. In particular during the months of May and June the rhododendrons are in full bloom and a spectacular sight. The Hall is situated between the higher reaches of the River Dove and Manifold Valley, the valleys providing access to both the White Peak and High Peak areas of the Peak District National Park. The historic market towns of Buxton, Leek, Bakewell, Matlock and Ashbourne are in easy reach. The magnificent Chatsworth House and gardens, Tissington Hall, Kedleston Hall and Haddon Hall are just a short drive. The picturesque villages of Hartington and Longnor are close by.

Escape the hustle and bustle
We booked this break to get away from it all and were very happy with the cottage. It was clean, airy, spacious and the bed was huge and comfortable. Absolutely everything had been thought of, in what was extremely well equipped accommodation. We’d be very happy to recommend. Many thanks, Owen and Carol
An excellent, cosy and comfortable cottage, set in beautiful surroundings.
The Bothy is among the best of many cottages that we have visited. It is bijou, but well designed, and is cosy and comfortable, with everything provided to make our stay most enjoyable. The bedroom is on a mezzanine, but is spacious, and the bed was so comfortable, we did not want to get up each morning! This cottage is highly recommended.
Fabulous Bothy, very well equipped, beautiful setting and great location.
From the moment we arrived we felt very spoiled. Tea, coffee, milk, cake and biscuits were awaiting our arrival - delicious. Fresh flowers from the garden (not just one vase but three!) Everything immaculately clean. Large fluffy white towels and a huge comfy bed. Lovely courtyard that caught the sun from early morning to late evening. Beautiful to sit here with a glass of wine after a days walking. We also enjoyed tranquil walks around the gardens, down by the lake and in the woodland. We were given gifts from the garden - runner beans, plums and raspberries which we enjoyed immensely. The Bothy was a great base for us, homely and very comfortable. We visited Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Hulme End(Manifold Valley) - an old railway line that is now a fabulous trail and the old station building still remains - you can walk it all if you're fit enough and reward yourself with a pint or two at the pub when you return, Longnor - a very pretty local village with Post office and pub etc., Dovedale and the stones, and many National Trust properties, Keddleston Hall, Hardwicke Hall and Lyme Park - all very interesting and great places for picnics too or you could sample the tasty lunches they have on offer. I couldn't get a phone signal here (three) but the free wifi had a very strong signal so just used that instead. We were made to feel so welcome that we will definitely return to the Bothy next time we come to the Peak District! Many thanks
