About the property

1810's Creole Cottage in the Heart of the Marigny Triangle

Welcome to Les Deux Paumes. Our 3bd/3ba home is an original Creole Cottage only 2 blocks to the French Quarter, 2 blocks to Frenchman Street and a short walk to the Bywater.

The Space

Les Deux Paumes - so named for the 2 beautiful palm trees right outside. Our home is an original Creole Cottage from around 1810. While we love the history of the building, we've renovated the inside with a modern sensibility and a focus on clean, easy comfort.

There's a Sonos sound system throughout the house that you can use (download the Sonos App to your phone and you're in business) and cable HD TV with a Roku (for all your streaming services). Access to the building is managed through a digital keypad so you don't have to worry too much about finding/losing keys. There's also a new central air conditioning and heat system. Parking on the street is usually very easy.

The main house has 2 bedrooms (one up, one down) each with queen beds, 2 full bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, living room, den area, and upstairs office with 27 inch flatscreen monitor in case you need to do some work while you're visiting. The house also has a washer, dryer and dishwasher.

There's also a guest studio in the backyard past the spacious deck for additional space and privacy. It has a new full bed and its own full bathroom.

While you probably won't be home too much while you're visiting this great city, it's nice to know you'll be able to return home to a quiet and comfortable oasis.

Guest Access

Check-in is super easy. There's a digital keypad on the front door and upon your arrival we'll give you the access code.

Check-in is after 3pm and Check-out is before noon.

Once you check-in to our home you'll be left completely alone. We're available if you have any questions but other than that, just enjoy our home (and please take care of it!).

The Neighborhood

The Marigny Triangle is one of the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods in a city full of history and beauty. Our neighbors are all super nice folks that you'll probably meet as you come and go. Plus, you're only 2 blocks to the French Quarter and 2 blocks to Frenchman Street. Not to mention that all the great stuff happening in the Bywater is only a short walk away.

It's pretty easy to grab a cab on Esplanade (2 blocks away). Other than that, you can probably walk everywhere you're looking to go.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I was returning to NOLA for my 12th trip and bringing my nieces and sister in law for the visiting the first time and to celebrate my niece's upcoming nuptials.

The layout of the house is perfect for 6 people, enough room, enough bathrooms for 6 women and plenty of room to hang out. I stayed in the back cottage which is great, could use a yamakazi clothing rack or a little more clothing storage but otherwise, it's perfect. The bed is sooo comfy!

An indoor table for eating would be great too, even a folding table. The bistro table is good for 2 or 3 but not for all 6 women and we didn't want to be outside and loud after 10:30PM to keep the noise down.

Otherwise this house is perfect, close to the street car (download the RTA mobile app), close to Roberts grocery store, a 24 hour bodega, great little wine bar and Ruby Slipper. I would highly recommend and absolutely stay there again!

Cozy place to stay

  • 3 of 5

The overall stay was pleasant. It was a place to rest our heads at night. The back cottage had a tight squeeze in the bathroom and had mold in the shower. If the door wasn’t closed really good, water got all over the floor. The shower head had no pressure and made it difficult for washing long hair.

The upstairs loft has a very firm futton/mattress and got very hot at night.

The master bathroom didn’t have proper shower curtain and water got all over the floor when showering.

The cleaning lady didn’t do a great job. The tables and floors were dusty and the showers glass doors were not cleaned at all.

Like I said, overall it was a pleasant stay. Would we stay there again...probably not. Those little things add up and i’d prefer the cleanliness of a hotel.

We had a wonderful time

This house and location were perfect for our first trip to NOLA. We were able to talk to the heart of Bourbon street in less than 5 mins.

Great location, beautiful home with lots of character

  • 4 of 5

Very easy to get in and out. Good security. Good attention from owners. House was beautiful with some nice common spaces for a group to spend time. Nice patio between the main house and coach house - perfect for breakfast or relaxing. Would have been nice to have a dining table indoors - but not sure where this could fit. Also, the house wasn't very clean - dishes in the cupboards were dusty, showers were a little dirty - seemed like the cleaning crew took some short cuts. Lots of pots/pans etc., but no kitchen towels. Plenty of bedding, towels etc. Note that there are 3 bathrooms, but two of them are extremely small - but this is likely to be the case in these old beautiful homes. The coach house was nice (where my husband and I slept) - private from the house with its own bathroom. Two of the beds were very comfy and nice, but the one upstairs was a futon and not as comfortable. I would suggest that the owners get a better mattress up there. Overall, I would recommend the house -nice home, nice street, easy to get around, and the home was lovely.

Right in the Thick of It!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Deux Paumes was exceptional. The best part was being right where the action was happening but without the noise. The house is on a very quiet street but only blocks away from Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. The space was laid out for quiet between rooms so if couples are sharing, you are not on top of each other. About the only complaint was that there was really no place to eat, except at an outside table. There was a corner cafe-style table in the kitchen but this was really not appropriate for four or more people. There was a coffee table in the TV room but it was not really for eating. I suspect most people are in NOLA for the dining out so this should not be such a big deal. Thanks Keelin, you have a great place to stay when visiting NO!
