Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at Trails End ( The Bunkhouse ) . The beach was great, accommodations very clean and adequate. Appliances are all new. The view from the Bunkhouse is great, only 50' from the water. We climbed Schoodic mountain. it was about 3 1/2 hours and not a hard hike. Views where spectacular ! Bob and Donna where great hosts. They were there when we arrived and went over everything. Be sure to take advantage of their offer of a pontoon boat ride and margarita's ! Unbelievable ! The port-a-potty was ok. It is what it is. We received our security depositback very quickly. We would recommend it to your friends. Thanks Bob & Donna !!!!!

Love our stay at Trail's End!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at Trail's End Cottage! The beach was amazing! My grandchildren swam, we brought our boat and took a tour of the Flander's Pond, and sat by the camp fire! We also loved being able to kayak! Being right on the water's edge is just what the doctor ordered and we hated to leave!

Our family had a wonderful time, we especially loved the beautiful beach, swimming and kayaking.

  • 5 of 5

A great spot for our family of 4, kids ages 6 and 9. The cabin was cosy and had everything we needed, especially considering we like to cook on our vacations. The beach sand is nice, but you may want water shoes because there are mussels / shells in the water. We used this as home base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia, which is about a 45 min drive away, but we didn't mind the drive knowing that we were returning to such a pleasant place. Would definitely go back.

Lovely Family Vacation!

  • 4 of 5

Such a nice little place! My husband & 2 children stayed here and greatly enjoyed our stay. The kids had a blast playing in the water and venturing out on the kayaks. Bob was even nice enough to take us, along with some of our visiting family members, out on his pontoon boat for a lovely ride on the lake. So quiet and peaceful!

A beautiful location on Flanders Pond with direct water access and our own fire pit - fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week at the camp with our two dogs, swimming, hiking and having evening by the fire eating the great local seafood! Hosts Bob and Donna, are the nicest people you could have as hosts, the cabin was nicely setup with music, flowers and spring water, coffee and condiments to start us off! Bob is one of the nicest, funniest guys I've met in a long while and we hit it off from the start, always there if needed but always respectful of our privacy!

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give the whole experience a 15......

Use Berniers Farm on 183 for fresh eggs and camp firewood, and occasional veges! Traceys lobster rolls 2 for $16, up around Baa Ha Baa you'll pay $18 for 1 and even at Winter Harbor it's $16 for 1.....stick with Tracey's - fantastic fried clams as well!! Chester Pikes great for breakfast - OK with our dogs at outside tables!

Great walking/biking trail on Acadia Schoodic National Park .....we did 6 miles in 2 hours there!! Entrance at end of single lane park circuit!

Happy 4th Bob, Donna and the family - great to meet everyone, and our dogs really loved playing with the Grand kids from Phoenix!!

Off to Australia and New Zealand next June but hope to visit again in 2019/20.

What a great cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We had so much fun! Awesome location, the lake is so pretty and very peaceful with lots of wildlife to watch, we loved the loons and bald eagles! The cabin was comfy and I must say, the outdoor shower is very refreshing! Bob is an excellent host and we felt very welcomed and our dog loved staying there too! The surrounding area is beautiful as well with lots to do and explore! We would definitely go back!
