Fabulous 4 bedroom new build directly on the beach with hot tub - dog friendly
Located at the site of the Norman landings and in the heart of 1066 country, the Pevensey Bay Beach House is a newly built 4 bedroom pet friendly luxury holiday let built directly on the beach in East Sussex.
As you can see from the photos, we have worked hard to make sure that the fantastic location is reflected in the layout of the house whilst ensuring it is not your average run of the mill beach house let.
The pacious Pevensey Bay Beach House has chic and quirky features like the use of old groyne oak, Chesterfield furniture, reclaimed floor boards, concrete kitchen bench tops, Moroccan bowl sinks, antique french beds, contemporary colours and penny coin floors.
Downstairs features a large open plan living space and cooks kitchen with a double Britannia oven, Siemens fridge and dishwasher, and large center island overlooking the dining table capable of seating 10.
Deep Chesterfield sofas and chairs, and high spec sound system [including cable TV, Sonos, WiFi and Smart TV] occupy a large portion of this area all of which opens onto an expansive terrace through massive bifold doors leading to a large terrace and direct access to the beach.
The balance of the downstairs space is made up of two bedrooms - one with a beautiful French queen bed, and the other with a full sized bunk bed - together with a large shower room and utility area.
The second floor has two very large bedrooms and bathroom with bath and shower. The spectacular beach side bedroom has a king sized cast iron bed and opens via french doors on to terrace overlooking the beach with views from Eastbourne and the South Downs National Park around to Hastings and all in between.
The second upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed as well as a double bunk bed [ideal for either two, mixed groups, or as child or teenage den] with views over the countryside towards Hertsmonceux.
The very comfortable beds feature down filled mattress toppers, Egyptian cotton bed linen and feather duvets and pillows. Bathroom towels are provided.
The owners have a large Labrador who loves the sea so have made sure access to a warm outside dog shower is available for those chilly days, the entrance has an area to towel pets down and the wooden floors are ideal for those residual wet feet. The property is fenced should the lure of the sea prove too much for our four legged friends – or equally adventurous two legged rascals!

Stunning holiday let
Stayed as a family of 9 in this beautiful house in an unspoilt location for our daughter's 40th. Plenty of room for us all. Very comfortable beds and everythìng you could have needed in the kitchen. We were fortunate to have 4 days of sunshine so could take advantage of the beach, the garden and the hot tub which we all loved. None of us wanted to leave and would highly recommend this property to anyone. Would love to go back in the future. Appreciated a follow up call from the owner after our stay and what lovely neighhours we had including the friendly visit from the hot tub maintenance man.
Another special occasion successfully celebrated with family at the Beach House. I was there yesterday as part of our ongoing process of keeping the house 100% up to scratch for our guests and the sun was out, the sea was calm and the house pristine. I absolutely understand why you didn't want to leave! I look forward to welcoming you and family / friends back again in the future. Many thanks, Jane
A Beautiful House, Wonderful Host. You Must Visit!
We booked a 3 night stay at Pevensey Bay Beach House from the 11th-14th April. We were a group of 7 girls aged 27-30.
Jane is a fantastic, attentive host. She has a beautiful home and I am so pleased we were able to experience it. The entire house is beautifully decorated, with wonderful little touches. You will not need for anything in terms of kitchen utensils or cooking equipment.
Towels and toiletries are provided, which is a great touch. The beds are so so comfortable and are a high quality.
The location is great, right on the beach. We used the hot tub a couple of times and this was definitely a highlight of the trip! The good weather meant we were able to use the hot tub until around 8pm!
In the local area, there is a large Asda and Tesco, so it's very easy to pop out and fill up the fridge for your stay. The drive to Eastbourne is about 20 mins, we only went in for the day to visit a Spa, otherwise we stayed in and around the house during our trip as it was so lovely!
Thanks again Jane for making our trip so fabulous. We would love to return in the future!
Fabulous holiday home
8 members of our family (5 adults, 2 children and a toddler!) came together in this wonderful home for 3 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday and the approved adoption of our second grandson. Even though the weather wasn't amazing, the home was and it helped create a special memory that will stay with us forever.
To have the beach on our doorstep was brilliant as it enabled the younger members of our group to get outside for some exercise while we watched from the comfort of the sofa!
The rooms were very spacious and beds comfortable - who cared if it was raining while we were in the hot tub! Thank you Jane for sharing your home by the sea with us - I'd love to return and stay longer. And yes, I have called it a home throughout this review as it is exactly that - not a house to stay in but a carefully put together home.
Fab house in Fab location
We chose to stay at the house because it ticked all the boxes:
location - on the beach,
bedroom with balcony and views out to sea
dog friendly - safe garden
tastefully designed and really well appointed - everything you could need
hot tub - with views on the beach
pubs and shops a lovely walk away.
We booked the house to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint.
Can't wait to go back again.
It sounds like your weekend away and anniversary celebrations went perfectly to plan.Thank you for including your impressions of the time there in this review. I very much look forward to hearing from you again and to the Beach House welcoming you back for another stay.
Perfect location for a proposal
Our family and friends stayed over a long weekend in this well equipped welcoming holiday property with us. After they had made full use of the great facilities, particularly the hot tub which was very popular with the grandchildren, and had gone home we settled down to a glass of welcome prosecco with the sea, beach, moon and stars as a backdrop. My now husband took the opportunity of such a magical setting to propose to me.
After being together 25years this was a complete surprise to me. Not only did he surprise me with the proposal but he had arranged the ceremony to take place in the church of my childhood home village for January 6th 2018.
November 27th 2017 will always be a very special day in an outstanding place for us. Thank you, Jane, for providing us with such wonderful memories. We will, hopefully, be back to celebrate the day we got engaged.
Linda and Keith Harrison
I smile every time I recall speaking with you after your stay Linda. What a wonderful surprise! The house has played host to brides preparing for their weddings with the friends and family, multiple generations coming together to celebrate significant birthdays and those that come to enjoy the sea, sun, moon and stars. But you managed to combine all of these and are the first proposal guests! I am so pleased we have availability for you and Keith on the anniversary of this amazing event. Best wishes.
Booked this property as a birthday treat for my fiancee and shared with friends and family, Everybody fell in love with the house, which really did feel homely whilst having a number of very original features which at least one person is now determined to replicate (original door coffee table)! Very well equipped, excellent position near to pubs and restaurants, hot tub a real bonus. Was very sad to have to leave!
I know how much you were looking forward to the week so I am delighted the Beach House delivered for you all.
The location is great for the local pubs and restuarants - especially so that you can stroll up the beach to the nearest ones.
I will send you a link to where the legs for the door table came from so you can pass that on to your friend.
Dont feel sad about leaving ... just book up again! :-)
East Sussex h has its roots in the ancient kingdom of the South Saxons, who established themselves there in the 5th century AD, after the departure of the Romans.
Archaeological remains are plentiful, especially in the upland areas. The area's position on the coast has also meant that there were many invaders, including the Romans and later the Normans.
This historic past, married with the region’s activity, cultural, and food and wine rebirth means there is a wealth of variation for all.
There are a number of wonderful historic towns within a short drive from the peace of The Pevensey Bay Beach House. Pevensey Village is home to Pevensey Castle which began in the 4th century as one of the last and strongest of the Roman 'Saxon Shore' forts, two-thirds of whose towered walls still stand. It was the landing place of William the Conqueror's army in 1066. During the century after the Conquest a full-scale Norman castle, with a great square keep and a powerful gatehouse, was built within one corner of the fort. In the 1250s the towered bailey wall was constructed, and soon put to the test during the great siege of 1264.
Not too much further away you will find Hertsmoceux Castle has its origins in the 12th Century and was the former site of the Royal Greenwich Observatory.
Many of the towns and villages in the local area have bags of character and history, great bars and eateries and many attractions for all including local markets, shopping, historic tours, pier fun grounds, fishing charters, sporting facilities etc. These include Lewes, Hastings, Battle, Alfriston, Brighton etc.
East Sussex is a growing wine area and of course is on Kent's doorstep home of the UK's blossoming viticulture industry.
The South Downs and all in their beauty offer walks of all levels often ending in fantastic dog friendly pubs. The Aegon Tennis championship, part of the grass season build up to Wimbledon, is played in Eastbourne, Hickstead is just 35 miles away, internationally renowned opera at Glyndebourne is 12 miles from Pevensey Bay to name a few outstanding days out.
