About Elizabeth Spencer
My husband and I moved to our smallholding in this beautiful part of West Wales from Wiltshire where I now run a home help business and my husband is retired. We have two horses and three pet sheep and very much enjoy the peace and tranqulity this area offers.
Elizabeth Spencer purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why Elizabeth Spencer chose Llanwrda
Our 18th century holiday cottage is located on our smallholding and we began renovating it in 2006 and opened for business in July 2008. The cottage was originally one of two farm workers' cottages on our smallholding which was part of a nearby landed estate. It has many interesting historical stories attached to it including being the birthplace of Jane Evans who became the first woman to be allowed to travel on foot to London with the renowned Drovers where she joined other nurses who then travelled to the Crimea to join Florence Nightingale.
What makes this Cottage unique
Peace and quiet in abundance - usually the only sounds you hear are sheep bleating and birdsong! The cottage is in a rural setting on the outskirts of Caio village amid stunning scenery and yet it is within easy reach of local amenities such as supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, doctors' surgery and veterinary facilities for pet owners. Very easy access to coast and country with Brecon Beacons within easy reach
