Villa Karin is a delightful and comfortable villa where one can retreat and unwind to the sound of crickets and sheep bells.

It is walking distance to the pleasant village of Kournas. Here you'll find several taverns, a bakery and a mini market.

The 9 kms long shallow sandy beach is a short drive away.

The location is also ideal for long and short trips in Crete. It is only an hour's drive to the south coast of the island.

Rethymnon is about 20 kms away, while Chania is about 40 kms away. There is a lovely 3 kms walk through olive groves to the famous lake at Kournas.

The property has only a neighboring house 50 meters away. The rest of the area is agricultural land with sheeps and olive groves.

The villa stands in al large plot with a beautifully tended, colorful, well laid out garden. The private pool is located immediately outside the villa and is surrounded by extensive sun terraces. There is a large stone built BBQ set under a bamboo covered pergola. This is a wonderful place to spend time with family and friends.

The villa includes 3 bedrooms one of which is a studio apartment, on the ground floor, with double bed and daybed to sleep 2, en-suite facilities and a kitchenette.

Bedroom number 2 with en-suite facilities is also on the ground floor. It has a double Super King size bed.

About Randi and Kjell Bragstad

We are a small family from Bergen in Norway.

Kjell is retired, Randi is working in the public sector. Erlend attend school.

Why Randi and Kjell Bragstad chose Apokoronos

The villa is a perfect choice for a family or for a group of friends wanting to 'get away from it all' but still be close to amenities.

The location is a great starting point for excursions into western Crete and exploring the traditional villages of the Apokoronas area or White Mountains to the south. It's only one hour by car to reach the south coast.

The long sandy beach are only a few minutes away.

What makes this villa unique

Peaceful area with beautiful views. The plot is large,3200 sqm, and gives us a lot of space with only one neighboring house. The garden is planted with a large number of palms, fruit trees and colorful flowers. Our guests appreciate the lawn, and the BBQ in the bamboo covered pergola, and of course the pool.

There are plenty of sun loungers and other items of outdoor furniture allowing you to spend time outside in the beautiful garden whilst soaking up the views with only the occasional sound of the local sheep bells to interrupt the peace and quiet.

Here is also a small but fully equipped kitchen and en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 3: 1floor. Master bedroom with super king size double bed which can be split into single beds, and en-suite bathroom. Two sets of patio doors at opposite ends of the room lead to terraces with views of the garden, pool, countryside and onwards to the sea.

Everything about Villa Karin was perfect

This is a perfect villa for a family in a very quiet location but only a short drive to good restaurants and the scenery around this part of Crete. We particularly recommend the very reasonably priced Poseidon Restaurant in Geogioupoli on the coast (only 20 minutes away) who have their own fishing boat and display last nights catch for you to choose from. All the restaurants we visited were excellent.

Beautiful villa, ideally situated between Rethymnon and Chania

Quiet setting on the hills but yet close to the beaches between Georgioupolis and Kavros.

Owners are very kind and attentive. Regularly checking with us if everything was OK.

The house has everything you need for a self catering holiday. and all equipment is functional. Recommend the Terra Cotta shop in the village of Kournas for olive oil and ceramics.
