About the property

Authentic village house 209 sqm. family room / kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 10-12 sleeps, 3 bathrooms, 1 toilet

Our house is large old village house on 209 square meters. It has been carefully renovated to a very high modern standard, but still with the old character remains. Living room with kitchen are over 50 sqm with open right up to the ridge. From here you can step directly out to the large terrace with wonderful views and sun from morning to evening. There are 4-5 large bedrooms and the house easily accommodated two families. There are 8 pieces fixed beds and then 4-6 extra beds in form of sofa bed and fold-out beds.

2 bathrooms with shower, 1 bathroom with corner bath and beyond the 1 separate toilet.

House plan with several floors allows one to feel independent and alone, even if you live a lot in the house at the same time.

Gorgeous views of the canal, wineyards and Corbieres hills. On clear days you can see all the way to the Pyrenees. Large terrace with sun from morning to evening. Several terraces in the garden with trees and shrubs with both sun and shadow mode. A small pool (7x2,5x1,20m)at the bottom of the garden. Here you can sit and enjoy while the boats in the canal passes just outside the fence. Direct access from the garden to the canal and small masonry bridge.

This is a house for those who want to experience the real south of France beyond all stress, but still in time with the crowds not to be insulated.

Nous avons eu un temps exceptionnel pour ces fêtes

  • 5 of 5

Narbonne Plage

Paraza is a small authentic French village located along the Canal du Midi. There is a small shop 2-3 restaurants, a gallery and the castle Chateau Paraza.

From spring to late autumn visited the village of many ferry passengers who take a stop here to visit the village and the castle. Year round, both French families and also many expatriates from England, Germany, Italy and other countries, making the village alive year round. In Paraza it really feels like to live in a genuine village, yet close to everything.

Paraza is 15 minutes from the bustling town of Narbonne. The Mediterranean's beautiful beaches, it takes about 30 minutes by car. Do you want to swim in the lake or a river are also within 15 minutes distance from the house.

The entire region along and around the Canal du Midi is extremely popular among bicycle tourists. In our village there Mellow Velos who rent bikes of all models unless the 3 nice bikes in our house enough.

Bicycle maps with various day trips are available.

To walk along the canal and watch all the boats that slowly makes his way is wonderful. Just in walking distance to the neighboring village of Ventenac-en-Minervois 1.5 km to the east and Roubia about 2 km to the west along the canal. Both villages are several restaurants and shops.

Going to the French markets are a must in our view. Here you can buy everything from food, wine, shoes, clothing, fabrics, etc. but also just to watch the world sitting at one of the cafes around the market streets.

The nearest market town Lezignan-Corbieres is 15 minutes by car. A large market is held there every Wednesday between 09th 00-13. 00th Olonzac also close has its market on Tuesdays. In Narbonne, the various markets several days a week and there is also a nice large covered market with very fresh goods such as fish, meat and vegetables etc.

Vineyards are endless in this region and plenty of great wineries to visit. Most are open every day and it's just to go out to the yard and come in for a bit of tasting and maybe something good purchase to enjoy with dinner.

Please visit the medieval village of Minerve is named one of the most beautiful villages in France (les-Plus Beaux Villages de France).

The nature around the bustling wine town Saint Chinian is dramatic and very beautiful. The end of July is celebrated every year with a wine festival that is well worth a visit. Sunday is market day otherwise in Saint Chinian and then live the resort up around the market square and the many restaurants.

There are many beaches to choose from along the coast. Leucate Plage and Franqui are our favorites, they are not so touristy and nice beach. If you want a little more beach life and activities so there Narbonne Plage and St Pierre de la mer et al.

A visit to Carcassonne and the fierce Cité de Carcassonne is a nice full day. The old fortress town was put on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1997.

Want more history you can visit one of the many Cathar castles across the infinitely diverse landscape.

Another must for us when we are in the south of France is to canoe in one of the rivers. There are plenty of rental locations and all have tours to suit both families and advanced paddlers. You paddles usually single, but gets help with equipment and transport back to and from the car.

Best paddling closest to our house feel we are at the village of Roquebrun in the Orb River. A beautiful village in the mountains to visit and then wonderful kayaking in the pristine nature of the surrounding mountains and the crystal clear water. Beautiful rapids rushing, beaches for picnicking and swimming or fishing.

Would you prefer recreational activities on land, so there are plenty of hiking trails, horseback riding, adventure parks,

golf courses and more.
