About The Stone House

I fell in love with Rossbrin Cove and Schull 16 years ago on a weekend trip. It was 1999 and I had a magical year creating and working with local craftsmen on the house. The magic of both the landscapes and seascapes as viewed from the house never fail to take my breath away on each visit. The people of West Cork are the friendliest on earth. I have the most wonderful neighbours in the cove who keep an eye on the house as I live and work in London. My team include Lizzie the housekeeper. Julian a dear friend and neighbour. Brendan the gardener. David the window cleaner and Ian my wonderful handyman. Couldn't do it without them. The dream house in a magical location is my little piece of heaven on earth and I am delighted when others enjoy the peace and tranquility too on their well deserved holidays.

Why The Stone House chose Ireland

So accessible to other beauty spots and day trips.

What makes this house unique

Peaceful location overlooking calm Rossbrin Cove with views to 14th century castle ruin and islands in Roaring Water bay. Heaven !

Relaxing in West Cork

  • 5 of 5

Angela, just a quick note to tell how much we enjoyed the cottage in Rossbrin. The location was excellent and the house first class. I can't remember a more relaxing break at a time when we most needed to relax. The setting of the house was perfect and the finish and facilties inside was just like home. We particularly appreciated and liked the very well equipped kitchen, fishermen calling to the door selling fresh prawns was an unforeseen bonus! My compliments also to the very tasteful decoration, whihc inside and out the place oozed restful!.Thanks for a great break and we hope we can find time again to take it again, perhaps for a longer period.

Relaxing Stay at The Stone House

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in Rossbrin! The Stone House was beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable, just as pictured. We loved the serenity of the area and were fortunate to have blue skies and warm temperatures during our week’s stay. Angela provided helpful tips on day trips and restaurants; and her friend and neighbor Julian showed us such hospitality. It was a very special holiday.

Beautiful home and stunning vistas!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week in the Stone House. The house is in excellent condition with all the amenities of home. The owner's description of the property is spot on. The views from the house are breathtaking. We especially loved the horse family on the neighbor's land. We traveled to Killarney, Cork and Cobh from the house and, although a couple of hours away, returning back to the beautiful home was worth the extra drive. We took advantage of the owner's recommendations for dining and certainly were pleased. Angela, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. Thank you for a memorable vacation!!!!

Gorgeous place!

  • 5 of 5

Great house, good neighbours, wonderful part of Ireland. Bit off the beaten path, but that is what we wanted. Weather rather chilly at that time of year, but snuck in some sunshine. Easy to provision house from market in Shull. Fair selection of wine and booze. Had trouble finding local seafood at that time of year. And not a sailboat to be found. We thank Angela (and Ian) for making our visit wonderful. Horses and fox also has a nice time with us, though we were late in reading the "please don't feed" note! Thanks to all. From initial contact through our stay the whole visit was terrific!

The perfect coast retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had never been to Ireland, we had heard all about the green rolling hills, sheep, friendly people, good food, spectacular vistas. But we had not heard about the wonderful Rossbrin Cove! We were celebrating a milestone birthday for two of our group of 5 and were looking for a great place to relax and a good place to launch into the countryside and explore off the beaten track places of the south west coast.

Angela's stone cottage was the perfect spot. I can not recommend this vacation property enough. The house is spacious, beautifully appointed, comfortable, clean, and has amazing views. Just take a look at the photos she has on the site.

When we arrived there was a fire burning, fresh flowers on the dining table, clean towels in the bathrooms, fresh linens, plenty of books for a rainy day, and three adorable and quite friendly horses to great us over the fence!

We were lucky enough to become acquainted with Angela's friend and neighbor, Julian, who was very helpful throughout the week and even invited us for cocktails and to meet other neighbors. We felt at home and not like exhausted tourists on a tour bus!

The property is remote, quiet, and a perfect get away from it all. Our next trip there will be to stay at the house more and simply relax and soak in the views.

Thank you Angela!
