The one-bedroom condo apartment (950 square feet) is outfitted with a spacious master bedroom with a king-sized bed, leather reclining chair, and bathroom with bathtub, wall-TV, and an overhead shower. There is an additional bathroom connected to the living room area. The furnished living room has comfortable seating with a TV (English cable channels and a DVD player) and large windows to let in lots of natural sunlight. This unit features a full kitchen, washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and hairdryer.
This unit is well-suited for single occupancy, a couple, or a small family with young children (two small mattresses will be provided upon request).
WiFi access is included, as well as a collection of books and DVDs. Towels and linen sheets will be provided. A cleaning service and parking spot is available, upon request.
Due to its location, the unit is slightly larger than other 1 bd/2 bt units in the Marina Suites.
Guests have access to a beautiful infinity-pool that is located in a terrace lined with frangipani trees. There is a children's pool and bathroom and showers for residents and guests. There is also a tennis court, fully-equipped gym, outdoor seating, and lounge seats.
On each floor, there is a lounging area with several sofas and a marina and ocean view.
The Marina Suites at Straits Quay is a development by the famous E&O Hotel Group and touts incredible design and aesthetic sentiments. The unit is located right above easily-accessible waterfront restaurants, cafes, bars, boutiques, massage parlors, hair salons, bike rental, and Sam's Groceria (a grocery store with local and Western goods). Tesco and other restaurants are less than a ten minute walk away.
The neighborhood around Straits Quay is very clean, safe, and convenient in its closeness to restaurants and other amenities. Take the kids to Straits Green, a free and clean water play area walking distance from the apartment. And don't forget to enjoy a walk day or night by the water, on paved walkways.
Our unit is in a wonderful location as it is located in between George Town and Batu Ferringhi, and down the road from Gurney. Spend a few days exploring the historical UNESCO city and a few more walking along the beaches or checking out The Tropical Spice Garden, The Penang Butterfly Farm, or ESCAPE Theme Park on the other side of the island.
**(Just for your information, construction of another building has started in the adjacent lot. **Update October 24, 2016 - the windows and sliding door has been changed in the unit. This has greatly decreased the noise from the site. If you have any questions about this or want updates, please do not hesitate to ask!!)**
Rapid Bus line 102 picks up right outside Straits Quay. Rapid Bus line 101 picks up across from Tesco (about 10 minute walk). Both of these buses will take you either towards Batu Ferringhi or towards town where upon they will eventually stop at the Komtar Bus Terminal (where you can catch any other bus). There is also a Penang Hop and Hop Off bus stop for the beach route a few steps outside the unit!
If you have mobile data we recommend downloading the Uber app to your phone. Uber drivers are much more affordable than taxis on the island and the service is highly recommended.
If buses don't suit you or if you don't have mobile data there are always taxis that can be found right outside of Straits Quay.

It comfortably fits two and is centrally located in between George Town and Batu Ferringhi. Enjoy the spacious bedroom and the bright and cozy living room!
A friendly couple owns this lovely one bedroom apartment. It is conveniently located in an upscale area and within a private residential block within Straits Quay, which means that you have easy access to the mall comprising a number of restaurants, bars and supermarket. This is a place to be if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle ie it is in a very quiet part of town. The apartment is comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. There is a fully functioning kitchen and washing area for your use and is well stocked with the required necessities. This is a top floor unit with a big balcony, although it faces away from the sea but you will still be able to get some seaview at certain parts of the unit ie the living room and left hand side of the balcony. The gym is small but sufficiently equipped and generally unused. The swimming pool area is also large enough for a decent lap. Travel-wise, it was easy to get a taxi to get to anywhere on the island. To put things into perpspective, it would take you 15-20mins to get to Georgetown in a car. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.
