Our Chalet offers a large loft Bedroom with a queen bed. Beautiful views of the Mogollon Rim from the bed, and of the National Forest to the back. Downstairs bedroom has full bed. In the living room you will find a wonderful wood burning stove. The living room has incredible views from the cathedral like windows. Kitchen has everything except your food. Outdoor deck is very private with tall pine trees providing lovely shade. Our cabin is located at the very back of the lot right up to the National Forest. It is in a very private setting. If you are looking for a cozy couples retreat, we think you've found it!
Our family has been visiting Payson for 15 years and every trip leaves us waiting to come back!
Thank you so much! Our stay was more than we could have ever hoped for! The views are amazing, the heaters work wonders, and the house/cabin is the perfect size for just two or the whole family.
We had the best honeymoon ever thanks to this place! We'll definitely want to come back soon!!
We have had the opportunity to spend long weekends in this very comfortable mountain chalet three times this year alone during three different seasons: winter, spring and most recently fall. Each stay has been amazing from many different views: remote and peaceful; tranquil evenings by the fire reading or watching a DVD; hiking adventures over many different trails (trail head to the Arizona Trail is within 1 mile of the chalet) and visits to Payson and surrounding smaller towns for supplies, dinner out, just exploring or massages. All you need to bring is your food, drinks and condiments; Gabriel has anticipated all other essential amenities including fully equipped kitchen, a commplementary bottle of wine and WiFi. Although a few fire starters are usually provided, I suggest bringing some of your own and leaving any unused for the next guest. The chalet and surrounding property has been extremely well maintained, clean and pristine.
We anticipate returning as often as we can get away to the mountains and have no desire to stay any place else.

My husband and I went to the wonderful cabin for 4 days for our honeymoon and it was absolutely lovely! The drive up the mountain is beautiful and we even saw some wildlife. The cabin is very accommodating and cozy. We definitely enjoyed the fall leaves and the crackling fire at night. It's definitely a great choice for a weekend getaway!
I recently visited this property for a birthday getaway with two of my closest friends. Gabriel was out of town but provided emergency contact information and clear directions (map included) to the cabin. This property is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed plenty of meals using the gas grill, pans and everything were provided. I would suggest taking your own knifes as we struggled a little bit with the ones available. Other than that our stay was absolutely amazing. Will be definitely booking this property again.
Great weekend getaway. The home is beautiful, very clean and quiet. The wood burning stove kept the entire cabin very warm and there was more than enough wood on site. Didn't even need to turn on the heaters within the home. The upstairs loft had an awesome view in the morning from the bed out the big cathedral window. The cabin was well stocked with basic supplies. Gabriel is a great host of his home. I definitely recommend this cabin and I will be revisiting again. Thanks again Gabriel!
My husband and I, with our 2-year-old son stayed at Whispering Pines for a long weekend. We are from the Phoenix area, and it was a great to get away from the city. This property is about 25 minutes from downtown Payson, which was remote enough to feel like we were secluded, but not too far out in case we needed to get something from the store. The cabin itself is super cute--no internet or cable, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you want to relax and enjoy nature. You could hear the creek running and the wind blowing through the trees. We had a great time and will remember this property for future getaways.
If you've ever dreamed of retiring to secluded place in the woods, try this for a first hand experience. It is a wonderful experience. The cabin is deep in the forest, compact, charming, clean, cozy, and comfortable. It is a great place to go to recharge. Gabriel is the consummate host. He responds promptly and is most helpful. Directions to the cabin are well written. A great place for a fall retreat. I shall return.
Leave the city behind, and prepare for an abundance of nature. Come to the base of the Majestic Mogollon Rim. After a beautiful 25 minute drive from the city of Payson you will arrive at our chalet. Our cabin is very secluded and is backed up to National Forest. Hiking trails off the back property offer easy access for nature lovers such as ourselves. The Highline trail as well as beautiful Washington park are minutes from the cabin. You may however, not want to leave the cabin. Our chalet is cozy and romantic. We feel it's an ideal place for a couple to take a break from the stresses of life. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck while watching the many species of birds. Because of our proximity to the national forest we have no shortage of elk passing by. We invite you spend a few days in front of the Mogollon rim.
