We were amazed at how good this house was . M Durrand has been very modest in his description of the house which suited us ( 8 adults and 4 children aged 1-7) admirably. The first floor is accessed by an eccentric concrete staircase from the garage which is used for storage of all garden toys and beach equipment and has a utility area. We used the two bedrooms and bathroom with wc up there for adults leaving the three bedrooms, bathroom, shower room and two toilets on the ground floor for children and their parents. There was plenty of room and the house was well equipped in the kitchen, there were indoor and outdoor toys and games and a surplus number of beds. It felt like a family home . The garden was huge with several fruit trees and with a lovely big patio for playing table tennis, barbecuing and outdoor eating. The house is walking distance from an enormous (3km) bay with beach and safe bathing, very small tidal difference. Although there is a big car park by the beach it is massive and totally uncommercialized except for a chi-chi van in the car park, just right for the walk home!
A 5km drive to the supermarche and boulangerie was a small price to pay for such a lovely location with a castle to explore and salt marshes to bird watch on our doorstep.
Sheets and towels were not provided and we had to source flat sheets from different homes here to go under blankets(no duvets) and our pillowcases are not square but it was a minor inconvenience.
We would thoroughly recommend this house and the kindness of M Durrand.
